Introduction to Xiata Canyon: Xiata is located in the Xiat Kirgiz Ethnic Township in Zhaosu County, Ili, at the northern foot of the Tianshan Mountains. It is also called Xiat and Xiata, which means "ladder" in Mongolian. It is close to the main line of the Tianshan Mountains with numerous peaks and the vast Tekes River. It is the most dangerous ancient pass on the Silk Road. It is also the Xiata that the eminent monk Xuanzang of the Tang Dynasty used to pass "from Lingshan to Rehai". The ancient road, also known as the Tang Monk Ancient Road, is a magical tourist attraction.
The Shatta Canyon is shaped like a tunnel, with green pine forests on both sides of the canyon and rapid water flow at the bottom. When you reach the mouth of the gorge and look up to the south, you can have a panoramic view of Khan Tengri Peak and Muzar Teda Ban. Sometimes the ice peaks are filled with clouds and mist, looming, and the cold air is pressing; sometimes the wind is sunny, the icebergs are exposed, and the weather is diverse. Because it is located in a remote area and is inaccessible to people, it has basically maintained its natural and original state.
