Introduction to the Temple of Heavenly Kings: The Hall of Heavenly Kings is the first entrance hall of Yonghe Palace, also known as Yonghe Gate. It was originally the gate of Prince Yong's Mansion. Maitreya Buddha is enshrined in the hall, which is a wood-carved gold-plated statue. On both sides of the hall are finely crafted clay sculptures and painted statues of the four heavenly kings. A pair of bronze incense burners are displayed on both sides of the altar table in the hall. They were used by the imperial palace during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. They have a unique appearance. It is exquisitely crafted and was a gift from the Empress Dowager Xiaoshengxian, the mother of Emperor Qianlong.
