At that time, the Zhao family was one of the largest households in Longtan, running tung oil and other businesses. His father, Zhao Dengzhi, and his wife had nine children, and Zhao Shiyan ranked eighth. At that time, the Zhao family also hired a private school teacher to teach and supervise the studies of their nine children. It was here that Zhao Shiyan spent his wonderful childhood. On July 2, 1927, Zhao Shiyan was unfortunately arrested. Facing the enemy's butcher knife, he was righteous and unyielding. He shouted "Long live the Communist Party of China" and died heroically, dedicating his 26-year-old shining youth and full of passion to the cause of liberation of the Chinese people. Today, countless people come to his hometown of Longtan to remember this pioneer and leader of the Chinese communist movement.
