Introduction to the traditional dwellings of the Dulong people: The production and life of the Dulong people are mainly concentrated in the river valleys and on the platform at the foot of the mountain. Dulong village is surrounded by mountains and rivers, and most of the wooden houses are built lightly on the steep hillside. In order to prevent flash floods from flowing away from the house, the side facing the river is suspended. The four walls of the houses of the industrious Dulong people are only surrounded by bamboo strips and covered with thatch. The entire building structure is simple. Some also stack whole sections of logs on a stone foundation to build a sturdy cabin. When you walk into a Dulong home, the first thing you notice is the Dulong blanket that is draped around your body, placed on the bed, or spread on the cabinet as a decoration. This kind of blanket is made of cotton and linen and hand-woven with colorful threads. With soft texture, simplicity and elegance, it is a national handicraft that the Dulong people are proud of.
