Introduction to the main house and the first courtyard: The main house and the first courtyard were built by Kang Da Yong, the twelfth generation manor owner of the Kang family, in the early years of Qianlong. It is commonly known as the "old courtyard". The architectural layout of the old courtyard is a typical Chinese quadrangle courtyard with three entrances to the front hall and back bedrooms. The East-West Flower Hall is used by the Kang family to entertain ordinary guests. There is a saying in ancient times that "men are superior to women", and the east is superior. Therefore, the east is generally used to entertain male guests, while the west is used to receive female guests.
