Introduction to the Evening Bell of the East Temple: The mountains are covered with verdant trees and deep vines, blocking out the sky and the sun. The mountains are steep, with overhanging rocks on three sides, and there is only a winding path to the west that can be climbed. There is a temple on the mountainside called Dongshan Temple. It was built in the eighth year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty and has been rebuilt many times since.
