Introduction to Lingyan Temple: Lingyan Temple ranks first among the eighteen temples in Yandang Mountain. It is surrounded by mountains and has a quiet environment. It is one of the "Three Wonderful Sceneries" of Yandang. The temple was founded by two monks, Xingliang and Shenzhao, the founders of the temple. It was founded in the fourth year of Taiping and Xingguo in the Northern Song Dynasty (979). With thousands of volumes of scriptures, it was called "the first temple in the southeast" at that time.
Behind Lingyan Temple there is Pingxia Peak, hundreds of feet high, with a wall rising into the sky and shaped like a screen. In front of the temple, there are two peaks, the 260-meter-high Tianzhu and Zhanqi, standing opposite each other, known as the "Southern Gate". Wolong River flows out of the gate. There is a skylight hole on the left side of the temple and a lotus hole on top. Around Lingyan there are also strange peaks such as Shuangluan, Juantu, Jade Girl, Chonglou, Zhuobi, Duxiu, as well as scenes of old monks worshiping pagodas, golden tortoises and jade rabbits.
