Introduction to the second site: The second site of the Zhoukoudian site was discovered by Anderson, Glenian and Shidansky in 1921. It is also one of the two earliest sites discovered at the Zhoukoudian site.
The second site of the Zhoukoudian site is about 200 meters away from the first site. When first seen, it looks like a north-south embankment, about 15 meters high and 2 meters thick. It is a slope leaning against the Longgu Mountain. The strata are brown-red clay layers. , was originally a mountain of burnt lime. The animal fossils unearthed include Chinese hyena, swollen deer, rhinoceros, wild boar, rodent, etc. A total of 22 species of mammal fossils were discovered, including 2 species of Insectivora, 8 species of Rodents, and rabbits. There are 2 species of Forms, 1 species of Primates, 2 species of Carnivora, 1 species of Perissodactyla, and 6 species of Artiodactyla; in addition, there are 1 species each of reptiles and birds, and the era is the middle Pleistocene.
