Introduction to Baoning Temple: Baoning Temple is located on the shore of Jiuxian Lake, in Wujing Village, Huangfengqiao Town. The temple was founded in the 10th year of Tianbao in the Tang Dynasty (AD 751). It is one of the earliest Buddhist Zen temples in Hunan and the ancestral hall of the Caodong Sect of the Southern Buddhism. From the Tang and Five Dynasties to the Song and Yuan Dynasties, the incense in Baoning Temple was very prosperous, and it became a famous temple in Hunan and the center of communication between Nanyue and Jiangxi Buddhism. The existing temple halls in the temple are the model restored in the second year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty. There are three entrances in the front and back, and a total of 24 halls, halls, towers, pavilions and platforms. The saying "there is Shaolin in the north and Baoning in the south" is very popular in Chinese Buddhist circles. Wu Limin, a great figure in Buddhism of the generation, evaluated Baoning Temple as a "national treasure".
