Introduction to the inscription: On December 26, 1937, Liao Rongbiao and others launched the Heitieshan armed uprising here. The unit was named "The Fifth Army of Shandong People's Anti-Japanese and National Salvation Army", and Liao Rongbiao was appointed as the commander. Subsequently, Heitieshan became a high-profile anti-Japanese base area. In June 1938, the Fifth Army was ordered to be reorganized into the Third Shandong Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Detachment of the Eighth Route Army, joining the rolling torrent of the National Anti-Japanese War. The night attack on Changshan City, the ambush on Xiaoqinghe, and the bloody battle on Baiyun Mountain were the three most famous battles of the uprising troops.
