Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Coral Bay

The room comes with a huge swimming pool, and I’m very satisfied with it.

 

The first stop is to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The Coral Bay where the hotel is located is in Dadonghai, the closest to downtown Sanya.

The entire hotel is built on the mountain, occupying 1.2 kilometers of Coral Bay's coastline. The tallest building in the hotel is only 5 floors, and most of them are two or three floors. It is hidden among the mountains and forests, and it feels very quiet.

The hotel is 10 years old, and the facilities in the room are a little bit old, but it is the Mandarin Oriental after all. Compared with the resort feeling created, this shortcoming can almost be ignored.

I grabbed a pool room for 2,799 for two nights. I have to say, I love this room type so much.

The swimming pool that comes with the room is so big

The so-called swimming pool room means that you can jump directly into the swimming pool from the yard behind the room, which is convenient.

The Raffles we stayed in later also had a pool room, but I prefer the pool room in Mandarin Oriental because its swimming pool is a large swimming pool with several rooms connected together, while the pool room in Raffles is just a small pool. Playing in the water is okay, but swimming is too short for adults.

After getting up from nap, put the children into swimsuits. The adults can go swimming if they want. If they don’t want to swim, they can sit in the yard and take pictures of the children. This is a real parent-child vacation, instead of squatting by the pool like an old mother.

I didn't like swimming in the hotel swimming pool before. I always found it troublesome to walk back with wet hair (don't mention the swimming cap. Enter the room to wash your hair and take a shower, perfect.

After swimming, you can change clothes and take your kids to the beach to dig sand and build sand castles. However, the hotel has a resort feel everywhere. I originally wanted to dig in the sand, but I saw a swing on the road and spent a long time playing there. .

On the lawn at sunset, two little kids chased birds, caught people, and ran non-stop. Finally, we adults also joined the battle and played eagle-catching chickens together. It was a long-lost happy childhood experience.

The hotel's beach is not as thin as Yalong Bay's and is a bit prickly, but this does not affect the children's enthusiasm for digging in the sand. When they are tired of digging in the sand, it is time to have dinner.

The quality of the Mandarin Oriental Chinese restaurant is pretty good. The quality of spicy hop snails, spicy beef, green vegetables, etc. are all very good. On the contrary, the famous Wenchang chicken in Hainan is a bit disappointing. Maybe it’s because we Guangzhou people are not fond of eating chicken. That's too much to ask for

In addition, the Chinese restaurant has Seafood buffet hot pot in the evening. I tried it with my classmate and my best friend, but they only cooked beef, mutton and vegetables, and did not touch the seafood. Cake is the most loved by children. The buffet hotpot is 250 per person, half price for children, so it doesn’t feel particularly expensive.

The breakfast buffet is also quite good, the environment is very clean, and the variety is very rich . Chinese porridge, noodles, noodles, and Western breads, milk, and drinks are all available. The fruit area is not only rich, but every fruit is cut into small pieces. It's very exquisite. As a health-conscious person, I don't dare to stay here for fear that I won't be able to help but eat too much.

The hotel's service is also super considerate . I stayed in 3 hotels this time, and only this hotel had someone contact me in advance to arrange a pick-up before departure.

In the afternoon, a waiter came over and asked if turndown service was needed. Although it was not required, it felt quite considerate. PS: This is also the first time I’ve heard of turndown service. I guess I’ll come back and make the bed again in the afternoon.

EDITION Hotel in Haitang Bay

Noisy fashionable hotel, I went to the wrong set

 

I have heard about Haitang Bay for a long time, but this is my first time here. I have never heard of this EDITION hotel. I saw a promotion in a certain hotel and said it was a hotel with a high reputation in Haitang Bay.

Coupled with a few pictures of Internet celebrities, I came here in a daze. Overall, I feel that it is not suitable for raising children, and it is not suitable for a middle-aged health party like me who likes quiet and is afraid of noise. I went to the wrong set.

The wind and waves in Haitang Bay are very strong, so it is not suitable for playing on the beach. The selling point of this hotel is that it built a self-made beach and introduced seawater. There is a large area of ​​​​the hotel's own water area for swimming and water sports , but it advocates nature. We didn’t play a single project.

However, walking in the hotel is very eye-catching. There are many handsome guys and beauties. It is said that this is a place for Internet celebrities to check in, and a place where young people love to come. When we were there, we also saw fashion magazines taking photos, and handsome foreign men wearing white suits. She posed with a cool and cold attitude that would repel people thousands of miles away.

Several kids have checked in

The room voucher I bought was for the Star Suite known as the Edition, a stylish studio with double bathtubs and sea view, priced at 4088 for two nights, with a free meal. The room is quite large, measuring 80 square meters.

However, there was a large bathtub in the middle of the room that took up a large area. We didn't use it even after staying for two days. Instead, there was a bathtub on the balcony. The two kids soaked in it and played in the water, which saved us the time of going to the swimming pool.

The hotel's breakfast is very rich in variety, worthy of the title of luxury hotel, but my Chinese stomach only needs some hot porridge and a bowl of freshly cooked rice noodles. I also have hundreds of other kinds. Just take a look.

In addition to the regular fruit varieties, the fruit section also has opened coconuts. Those who like to eat coconut meat can enjoy it.

The hotels in Haitang Bay are connected to each other, and the distance between each hotel is only a hundred meters. The hotel buildings are also higher than each other. The nearby Mangrove Hotel is said to have 1,001 rooms, so the whole Haitang Bay gives people a feeling It's just crowded and noisy.

We only had one meal at the hotel and went to the food court in Haitang Bay for the rest. The Starry Sky Bar on the top floor of the hotel is said to be very atmospheric for drinking and clubbing at night. However, children are not allowed to enter after 5 p.m. , I didn’t go up at all.

The fashionable and energetic Addison is suitable for young people. It is not suitable for me, an old lady with a baby. I probably won’t choose this place again next time.

The soft beach can sing, but the food is not that good

I originally booked a sea view room, but the room was not ready when I checked in. The front desk said that I could change it to a pool room. I had a great experience in the Mandarin Oriental pool room before, so I agreed without hesitation, Unexpectedly, an accident almost occurred.

The swimming pool of this swimming pool house is very small, so it is suitable for children to play in the water. The waiter brought this big inflatable horse. At first, the two kids had a lot of fun.

As a result, Lisa sat further and further forward, and her weight was too much on the horse's head. The two of them fell into the water. Fortunately, the father was two meters away, and he quickly rushed up and fished the two babies out of the water.

The whole family was frightened. The two babies cried for a long time after holding them in their arms, and they refused to go into the water again. Later, they simply changed to a sea view room.

Last month, I wrote about swimming with my 10-year-old child. I kept staring at him. Am I overly nervous? , I didn’t expect it to happen to me. It’s such a slap in the face. The hotel's breakfast is inferior to the first two, except for the Hainan pickled vermicelli which tastes good. The bigger complaint is that there are always flies flying around in the restaurant, which is quite disappointing.

We had two lunches at the hotel's Baiwei Chinese restaurant, and the food was average. Online reports said the hotel's Italian restaurant was very authentic. Unfortunately, we ate there once, but we didn't become fans of it, and the price was a little too expensive.

Insert a heart-wrenching attraction

Clear Water Bay, where Raffles is located, is very close to Nanwan Monkey Island. It takes less than 20 minutes by car. It is the only scenic spot we went to on this trip. Although the children were very happy to see the monkeys climbing up and down, I, as an adult, It was painful to watch.

Compared with the Yunnan golden monkeys I saw in Yunnan in July, the staff took great care of the monkeys, but the monkeys here were in terrible condition.

It is obvious that we humans have disturbed the original ecological environment of the monkeys by entering the island, but the staff on the island are very rude to the monkeys. As long as the monkeys run out of the designated area, they will hit the monkeys with slingshots.

The same animals and lives were treated so differently by humans, which made me, a tourist, very intolerable. After playing for a while, I took the cable car back with my children.

Another piece of eating experience

This time in Hainan, we had a total of 3 seafood meals. We bought the seafood ourselves at the seafood market and then asked the nearby shop to process it for us. It felt like it was all about luck.

The reviews on a certain dianping website were not very reliable, but the restaurant I found for my last meal actually produced very good food. The salt and pepper mantis shrimps were very fragrant, the geoduck and squid were fried very fresh, and I couldn't stop eating even the ordinary water spinach.

There are dozens of restaurants in Haitang Bay Food City, and you can go to major hotels to pick up guests. For two meals, we checked out Japanese food and coconut chicken opened by Wang Sicong. There is no need to queue for Japanese food, but the taste is very average. Coconut chicken is not bad, but Waited in line for a full hour.

The pineapple I bought on the way back to the hotel after the meal was very sweet, and the small Thai Milk Coconut was the most surprising harvest of my trip.

I rarely drink coconuts. I think they are big and taste very bland. I bought two of these small milk coconuts because I was pestered by Xiaopai. I didn’t expect the taste to be amazing.
