The Transformation of the Peninsula: Insights from the Xinghai Peninsula—A Tour around Dianchi Lake II

There are three adjacent peninsulas on the north shore of Dianchi Lake and east of the entrance of Panlong River: Xinghai Peninsula, Fubao Peninsula and Baofeng Peninsula. It is close to Dianchi Lake and overlooks the Western Mountains. The three peninsulas of Xinghai, Fubao and Baofeng are well-named. It is a rare geomantic treasure land beside Dianchi Lake.

Passing the Panlongjiang Bridge from Hubin and heading east, the first thing you enter is the Xinghai Peninsula.

The Xinghai Peninsula, which is close to the entrance of the Panlong River into the lake, now has the first phase of the Xinghai Peninsula Lakeside Ecological Wetland Park built on the water side. Entering the garden from the gate with the "Peninsula" signboard, you will see a wide field of vision, numerous flowers and trees, connected water and lakes, as clear as a mirror. The scenery is indeed pleasant, and it is another place to visit.

According to information, the park’s water area is 63 acres, its green space area is 81 acres, and its square area is 2400 Sqm. There is a parking area available for parking. The park is divided into functional areas such as forest edge flower grassland, wetland tidal flat, sound green island and observation platform. Behind the wetland is the construction site of a real estate building, and behind it is the high-end villa area "Dianchi Lakeside Peninsula" in Kunming.

The newly built bridge connects the Haigeng Wetland Slow Path, but for some reason it is surrounded by iron plates and is impassable. I can only look at the bridge and sigh, and see each other across the river.

It is possible to cross the peninsula from Xinghai Wetland, but there is a closed iron gate on the road in front of the wetland. There is a sign informing: Due to the improvement of the park, it will be closed for four months. I was able to go in last time, but this time I can only look at each other through the door. The red leaves in the garden are red and the reed flowers are white. I have to wait until it opens to visit.

Xinghai Wetland Park is small but exquisite. At present, the supporting facilities are not perfect. After walking around, if you want to sit down and have a rest, it is difficult to find a place to sit. Some tourists simply sat on the ridge of the lake embankment.

However, the imperfections cannot conceal the beauty of the scenery. When the upgrade is completed, it will bring more surprises to visitors.

When you go outside and carefully look at the "Peninsula" sign on the door, you feel that this wetland park seems to be a supporting project of the villa area.

When you come out of the peninsula, you will see a "Laopanlong River Chief Notice Board" on the side of the road. It looks like a small canal under the road. The "Notice Board" explains: "Laopanlong River starts from the Hongjia Village sluice gate and ends at the Dahezui of Xinhe Village where it enters Dianchi Lake. The total length is 2.8 km, river width 8-12 Meters. Catchment area 1.02 square kilometers, and its main function is to divert the flood of Panlong River.”

The old Panlong River channel must have been the natural channel that entered the lake before the Panlong River channel was cut and straightened in the last century. When the Panlong River channel was straightened, a section was cut off and left on the Xinghai Peninsula. In order to distinguish the Panlong River that enters the lake from Hongjia Village, it is called "Old Panlong River". The source of Laopanlong River is the gate of Hongjia Village, and enters Dianchi Lake from the mouth of Dahe in Xinhe Village on the Xinghai Peninsula. Dahezui is "named after the mouth of the Panlong River's old channel that entered the Dianchi Lake. The Panlong River has now changed its course from Hongjia Village to the Dianchi Lake." This seemingly small canal is undoubtedly the natural channel of the Panlong River a long time ago. But the Laopanlong River in front of us is only 1 meters wide, which is unbelievable. I wanted to go explore and saw a villager selling fish by the Lukan River, so I stepped forward to ask for directions. Seeing that I didn't sell fish, the man seemed a little impatient and said that there was construction in front and he was not allowed in. I think about it, don't ask for trouble. Turning around at the entrance of Hongjia Village, the village was being evacuated. Some houses were empty, and some had been partially evacuated. One side of the road has been fenced off, and it seems that this is a piece of land that has been acquired for construction.

Turn from Huanhu East Road to Fubao Road. The wide avenue leads directly to Fubao Cultural City. The green belt and trails beside the road lead to the Daqing River. The tall metasequoias on both sides of the riverside path block the hot sunshine and provide shade all the way.

A newly built bridge appeared on the river in the distance, shining silver in the sunlight, and it lit up the eyes. After approaching the bridge, Fang Xiao realized that this was a new bridge built for real estate by "Shanhaihui ". After making inquiries and comparing it with online searches, it turns out that the first-phase properties that have been built include single-family villas and duplex villas, and the property prices are probably the highest in Kunming.

Qiaotou seems to be a small vegetable market with vegetables and river fresh food. Dianchi Lake is in season, and there was once a lively fish market here. The roadside is filled with lively fish and shrimps that fishermen have just caught from Dianchi Lake.

Walking along Daowan Street, several restaurants were full of people, and some of them had relatively light business. The market is like this. It depends on whether your dishes are fragrant and cheap. If you operate with integrity and have distinctive features, you will naturally attract customers.

Walking to the end of the street, there is a row of large eucalyptus trees, and under the trees is the old Panlongjiang River. If it weren't for the tall and strong eucalyptus trees, I wouldn't believe that the old Panlongjiang River is right in front of us. Eucalyptus trees may have a special liking for Panlong River. If you walk all the way from the source of Panlong River, you can see tall eucalyptus trees accompanying you everywhere.

The section of the Old Panlong River in Xinhe Village has not been artificially modified and is as narrow as the mouth of the source. Perhaps decades of embankment collapse or human encroachment have made the river narrower and narrower, becoming like a small ditch. .

When I met a villager who looked like he was born in the 1960s, I asked him why the old Panlong River was so narrow. He said it had been like this before. Perhaps as long as he could remember, the river had become so narrow. He told me that a section of the river upstream has been repaired.

I walked up the river, right next to the built peninsula villa area. The river here is as neat as an artificial water channel, with stone embankments as ridges, slightly wider, and no big trees or weeds. It is a different scenery, but It makes people feel like they have lost something.

The wasteland in front of us will soon be filled with new buildings.

Turning back and continuing to walk towards the lake entrance, the old river channel, although narrow, has become much wider. The earthen embankments on both sides are still there, and the ancient willows on both sides are swaying. After leaving the village, I saw green fields, broad beans, peas, mint, and thick green fields. Occasionally, there were unharvested corn and vegetable beds with newly planted seedlings, which brought out a little yellow and red. There were hardworking villagers watering and planting, and it was a rural scenery that I hadn't seen for a long time. The strong rural flavor made me intoxicated after staying in the "steel jungle" for a long time.

The river outside the village gradually widens, and a narrow river ridge road stretches forward along the Laopanlong River. The leaves of the old willow trees by the river have been swept away by the autumn wind, and their trunks and branches are like smoke and fire. The blue sky and river water show that they have experienced vicissitudes of life.

Looking at this cool row of old willows that look like stumps and dead branches, what comes to my mind is that spring in March when the flowers are blooming. The spring breeze blows the willows on both sides of the river, the birds are singing and the flowers are fragrant, the seedlings are green, and the water in the river is clear. Fish leaping, water plants swaying... it's all a natural scene.

The wind blew and stirred up the waves in the lake. Standing at the mouth of the river, enjoying the lake breeze blowing from the south, you can see the Sleeping Beauty with her long hair spread out from a distance, the steep rock walls of the west mountain, and you feel a sense of openness in your chest. With trees and reeds standing on the shore, this natural river channel has a more unique charm than the neat and restrained river embankments.

At this moment, the "sea" scenery and "sea" wind on the plateau are enough to make people feel relaxed and happy, and they forget where they are for a moment. But what I can't get rid of is the rolling green waves and the floating algae debris. The lake water, which was mixed with blue algae and turned green, seemed to be venting the anger in the chest.

Waiting for the lake water to become clear, I would like to see the lakeside look like a fairyland.

Standing at the entrance of Lao Panlong River for a moment, we walked along the lake embankment to the entrance of Daqing River.

The Daqing River, known as the second largest river in Kunming, passes through the Fubao Bridge on East Huanhu Road, and the metasequoia trees on both sides may already appear golden. The Daqing River divides the Xinghai Peninsula and the Fubao Peninsula. At the entrance of the lake, there are rows of eucalyptus trees, swaying reeds and lush aquatic plants. The Fubao Peninsula and the Xinghai Peninsula are separated by a river, forming a small bay at the entrance of the Daqing River.

There is a "high-efficiency blue algae treatment boat" in the river, and workers bring the blue algae to the boat for treatment every day.

The "Daqing River Chief Notice Board" shows that "The Mingtong and Jiancao rivers merge at Zhangjiamiao and are called the Daqing River. It flows southwards and runs parallel to the Panlong River on the east side of the Panlong River. It flows into the Dianchi Lake on the west side of the Fubao Cultural City. 5.6 kilometer , which is a natural river. Basin area 2 square kilometers. It is the main river in Liujia Street area. It flows through Panlong, Jinjia and Xinghai communities.

The Xinghai Community in Xinghai Peninsula is full of small western-style buildings, which are probably incomparable to the housing of urban residents, which is really disappointing.
