I took some old friends to Turkey. I originally wanted to go to Kamakura Fuji in Tokyo, but I found out that National Day air tickets were not cost-effective. So I searched around and found that the air tickets to Turkey were reasonably priced, so I happily decided to go to Turkey. have a look.

The third day

After wandering around Goreme, we took a flight from Kayseri Airport to Izmir in the evening and stayed at Izmir Airport. The airport drop-off was also booked on Ma Yun, it was 55 yuan per person, and a minibus picked up a car at the hotel and sent it there.

The fourth day

Izmir——> Selcuk, live in Selcuk.

Selcuk is a small town next to Izmir. The main reason to go there is to see the ruins of the ancient city of Ephesus. Ephesus was an ancient Greek city-state about 2,000 years ago and is relatively well preserved. I personally like it very much!

It takes about an hour to drive from Izmir to Selcuk, either by bus or train. There are two types of trains, one is izban and the other is TCDD. The two platforms are together. The airport sign will say metro/izban, just follow it.

Izban is similar to urban rail transit. It cannot go directly to Selcuk. You will transfer at Tepekoy Station. There are many trains from Izmir Airport to Tepekoy, but there are very few trains from Tepekoy to Selcuk, so change It’s very troublesome if you take the bus at the wrong time.

TCDD is similar to the intercity train and can go directly to Selcuk, but there are relatively few daily flights, so you need to schedule a good time to take it. We finally chose TCDD, and the fare is 6 liras per person. (It’s surprisingly cheap, it seems to cost 30-40 lire by bus)

When you go to the platform, you will first see the izban ticket buying point. Then walk inside and there is a small building that is the TCDD ticket buying point. After buying the ticket, walk in and you will find the TCDD waiting platform. The bus to Selcuk is on the right. rail.

The TCDD train runs from the city to the airport to Selcuk to Denizli (the city next to Pamukkale), with stops at some scattered small towns in the middle.

I forgot to take the latest timetable, but it is only a few minutes different from the one I found online, so you can refer to it.

An hour later we arrived at Selcuk, a quiet and relaxing town. This is the train station of Selcuk.

Coming out of the train station is the square in the center of the city. There is a section of ancient city ruins lying across the square.

The main attractions in Selcuk are the ancient city of Ephesus, the Ephesus Archaeological Museum, Ayaluk Castle, and the ruins of the Temple of Artemis (one of the legendary seven wonders of the world! Only a pillar and a pond. )

The last three are basically in the town. The ancient city of Ephesus is about 3-4 kilometers away from the town. You can take a minibus at the bus station in the center of the town. It costs 4-5 li per person. When you come back, you will be at the minibus station at the entrance of the ancient city. Wait for the minibus.

In addition, there is a seaside town called Kusadasi about 18 kilometers away from Selcuk. If you only visit Selcuk, it is recommended to stay at least a full day. You can stay for 1 night, or you can stay in Selcuk. We will play together in Kusadasi and stay for about 2 days.

There is a castle on a small island by the sea in Kusadasi. The hotel owner told us that we can see a very good sunset there (but we did not have time to go there). You can also take a minibus there in Kusadasi. It is said that it is 8 Lira was alone.

The most suitable time for taking pictures in the ancient city of Ephesus in the afternoon is about 1.5-1 hour before sunset. There are mountains around it, so there is no light when sunset is approaching.

It closes at 7:30 pm in the summer, but closes an hour earlier in the winter, so there’s no hope of shooting stars. I originally liked the ancient city as the foreground. The castle in town can be used as a foreground for star trails, but when I went there at night

There were a few gangsters wandering there, and I saw a police car driving over to talk to them. . I didn't dare to stay and went back to the hotel.

Selcuk is quite laid-back. Grandpas wake up and order a cup of black tea in the teahouse and start Turkish mahjong while drinking. It is quite similar to the life of the people in Chengdu.
