Day3 Ciqikou Ancient Town + Zhazi Cave

The reason why these two attractions are arranged on one day is because they are very close to each other. However, I was still too naive. The straight-line distance between these two places was close, but one was at the foot of the mountain and the other was on the mountain! Listen to me explain in detail later.

  • Ciqikou Ancient Town

Ciqikou Ancient Town is also one of Chongqing’s business cards. Although the guide said it has a strong commercial atmosphere, we still want to visit.

Get off Line 1 at Ciqikou stop. You can see such an archway within a few steps of exiting. In fact, we just need to find an entrance to enter the scenic spot. At that time, we saw a big sign pointing in the direction of the main entrance of Ciqikou. The direction pointed to was still under construction, and it was dirty and dusty. Let's go When I went in, I found that there was a road under construction. There were various shops on both sides of the road. Because it was still under construction, there were not many people here. I walked for a long time without knowing where the main entrance was. Finally, I found an alley and walked in. It was only later that I realized that I don’t need to look at this sign. You can enter the scenic spot at the first archway.

Ciqikou Ancient Town was built in the Song Dynasty. Nowadays, as a tourist attraction, it is very similar to many ancient towns. The quaint streets are lined with various shops selling local specialties, souvenirs, food, etc.

This kind of doll that can automatically change its face is really cute. I think it is so cute.

In an ancient building called Baoshan Palace, there is a Ting Zhaozhong Exhibition Hall. After looking at the display, I realized that this Chinese-American who won the Nobel Prize had attended Jialing Elementary School in Ciqikou.

The ancient towns are all relatively similar, but watching a performance in the teahouse here will still be memorable.

Ticket prices for performances range from 18 yuan to 68 yuan. We chose the 48 yuan class and sat in the third row, with a good view. Additional a la carte items such as refreshments.

The total performance time is almost one and a half hours. Performances include musical instrument playing, opera, acrobatics, face-changing, etc. I think after watching the performance, it will be more memorable and the impression will be more profound for the two little ones.

After coming out, continue shopping and eating.

I have to say that there are really many tourists in Ciqikou.

For lunch, we found a restaurant outside Ciqikou. We all knew that prices in scenic spots would be a bit more expensive, so we understood that the food prices would be a bit higher. However, when I saw Maoxuewang selling for 138 yuan, I almost When I wanted to leave, Hu Xiansen said we should just not order this dish. I still thought it was too expensive. Hu Xiansen said maybe the Maoxuewang here had different ingredients from what we usually eat, so it was much more expensive. Finally, I ordered other dishes and had lunch.

  • The journey from Ciqikou to Zhazidong

While eating lunch, we happened to talk about going to Zhazidong later. Hu Xiansen checked the distance and found that it was only more than 1 kilometer. He said that it was so close that we might not be able to get a taxi. It happened that a diner in the hotel said that they were just there. If you walk from Zhazidong, it’s very close, so you don’t need to take a taxi. So, we took her advice.

The one in the back is so regretful! It was more than 30 degrees that day, and it was the hottest time around 2 o'clock when the sun was blazing in the sky. When I walked there, I realized that it was all uphill all the way. It was really hot and tiring. We were all sweating profusely. Hu Xiansen walked very fast alone. I think he was afraid that his little brother would not want to leave when he was tired and wanted to be held by him, so he took the lead and walked away until no one could be seen, leaving me dragging the two little ones and moving slowly. Fortunately, my brother also knew that I was tired and didn't say anything. Hug, just walk slowly...

Actually, thinking about it later, if it wasn't over 30 degrees that day and not so hot, it wouldn't be that difficult to walk there.

But there was also a reward. When we were approaching our destination, we saw a station - Zhazidong Station. There are some abandoned railway tracks and a tunnel. The two little ones came to life again and followed Hu Xiansen into the tunnel to explore, while I sat down on the chair on the platform and took my time. Thinking about it later, life seems to be like this, what is lost is lost, and what is gained is lost! If you had taken a car instead of walking, you would have missed this place!

After the two little ones had fun here, we moved on.

  • Zhazidong

It was almost 3:30 when we arrived at Zhazidong. There was no time to visit the entire Geleshan Revolutionary Memorial Hall, and the tour bus seemed to have stopped by then.

Looking at the map, the Geleshan Revolutionary Memorial Hall is very large, and I feel that a tour bus is still needed.

Zhazidong was originally a small coal mine mined manually, but later it was converted into a detention center, where many revolutionary martyrs were imprisoned. This is where Sister Jiang was detained at the time.

The torture chamber was closed, and the scene inside could only be seen through the small glass window. Even so, seeing these torture instruments was still creepy!

On one side is the women's prison.

The building opposite is the men's prison.

I saw here the letters written by the martyrs in prison to their parents and wives. I felt a little teary-eyed when I read them. Then I saw my brother next to me rubbing his eyes and crying. I was surprised and asked, are you also moved to tears? My brother said no, it was because my eyes were uncomfortable.

After all the visits, I saw my brother when I came out. He was also in tears. Suddenly, the three of us all looked like our eyes were red. The other tourists next to us thought something was wrong with us. But my brother cried and said, "My eyes hurt." They were both dumbfounded and quickly took them to the bathroom to wash their eyes. The reason is that I applied my sunscreen to them before, but after they sweated, I wiped the sweat and rubbed my eyes, which irritated their eyes!

The pedestrian passage at the exit was closed, so we could only walk to the vehicle exit, which closed at 4:30. It felt a bit too early, because not only us, there were many people coming out of it, but they could only use the vehicle passage. come out.

This day had a great impact on us, because the contrast was huge. Ciqikou was so lively and prosperous before, with an endless stream of tourists strolling around leisurely, a dazzling array of products, and a strong commercial atmosphere. At that time, we thought there were too many people, and it was simply a sight to behold. Finally, I arrived at Zhazi Cave and saw those cells, those instruments of torture, and the lives of those martyrs. It was really sad and deeply touching. They were all good young people who sacrificed their lives at the most beautiful moment, just to save the next generation. suffering!

We were still discussing it on the way back in the car. First, we lamented that we had learned these articles before, but I really didn’t have such a strong impression when I learned them. Now I understand a little bit, and think about how great they are! The second is the feeling. When you look at the names of these martyrs, your first impression will be that their names are very high-level and sound good. Looking at their lives, most of them are educated, so education will make people thoughtful; the third is I decided to watch the TV series "The Age of Awakening" with my two children after returning home, so that we can all get educated and remember history.
