I code every time I come back from a trip. This 20-day trip was very interesting, but the days were too long. I didn’t know how to start coding, and I felt like I wouldn’t be able to finish coding in a short while. I can only give it a try. Many places may have been unclear or confused. If there are coding errors, please do not pursue them.

In order to meet YY in Cape Code, we specially arranged a trip to the eastern United States and eastern Canada. Cape Code is a small hook sticking out of the sea 2 hours south of Boston, Massachusetts. YY's new home is deep in the national park there, and they are still working on renovating and digging a swimming pool in June.

Full self-driving route plan: The total journey is 3109 kilometers, about 32 hours, driving 2-4 hours a day, and staying in each city for 2 days.

I actually drove 4,343 kilometers. My American friends all said that I was crazy. I can’t even think of such a journey. Driving for too long will be very tiring. However, driving has never been a difficult task for me. This trip was actually pretty okay and not as tiring as I expected. Compared with some crazy women who drove to Spain alone, driving more than 5,000 kilometers in a week, it was really like a big house in a small house.

Toronto - Ottawa - Montreal - (entering the United States) via Boston to YY's home Cape Cod - New York - Philadelphia - Washington - Cleveland (returning to Canada) - Toronto

Hertz Car Rental

I booked a 7-seater Dodge SUV or MPV, but what I actually got was a Toyota MPV.

Canada, like the United States, has "diamond roads" on highways. Roads that can only be used by one vehicle with more than two people on it are on the far left side of the road. Even if the road on the right is blocked, no one will illegally occupy this road. Such quality!

In Canada, you are not allowed to turn right and go straight when the red light is on. In the United States, you can turn directly as long as it does not affect the passage of through vehicles. The problem is: when you turn right and encounter a red light, you can't turn. When the light turns green, pedestrians also have a green light. You have to wait for people to pass first and you can't turn. When all the people are gone, well, the light is red! Wait for the light. Wait for the light. . .

At intersections without traffic lights, you must stop when you see the STOP/ARRET sign, and pass on a first-come, first-served basis. If there is no STOPO/ARRET sign at the intersection, you must not stop without pedestrians passing by. You must pass safely and quickly, otherwise the cars behind and in the longitudinal direction will look down upon you. When driving in the United States and Canada, you cannot change lanes at will under any circumstances. The left side is always the passing lane. After passing a car, you must change back to the right lane in time. The speed limit on the highway exceeds about 10 miles per hour, which is reasonable, but in urban areas, you must abide by the rules and do not exceed the speed limit.

Because of the general environment, traffic rules and high-quality car ethics, locals drive very fast. As we followed the navigation system all the way, we were not familiar with the road, and it was common for us to be despised for driving slowly, even though I never drive slowly! Only when you arrive in Manhattan, New York, are you following Shanghai's driving rules. You can only stop if you don't stay in the lane or rush for the lane, and you must honk your horn. When you arrive in New York, you feel like you are back in Shanghai.

Accommodation: AIRBNB

Basic B&Bs throughout the journey. B&Bs in Canada and the United States have very high standards. They are basically single-family villas or townhouses with three bedrooms and two living rooms, luxuriously decorated, clean and tidy.

Some of the houses actually exceeded our expectations and I was very satisfied with my first experience using AIRBNB. We are truly stunned by the high standards that people in Canada and the United States have for rental properties. Different from hotels in the past, it is closer to local life. The neighbors are very friendly and will greet you. The landlord enthusiastically guides you to eat, drink and have fun. It really feels like a pretend immigrant life experience.

meal

Breakfast is basically eaten at home every day: milk, cereal, bread, eggs, ham, sausage, etc. A light lunch and a full dinner. All western food. Here we really need to praise Apple, Ma Ma and Bad Bad. It is understandable for Chinese people to have a Chinese stomach. It’s really not easy to eat like this all the way!

Weather

In summer, like Shanghai, the weather is 30°. Exposure to the sun at noon and cool mornings and evenings. Mornings and evenings in Canada are much colder than those in the United States. You must need a jacket at night.

jet lag

Once the time is corrected, there is a 12-hour difference with China, which is the most difficult time difference.

other

The voltage in the United States is 110V, which is universal for small electronic products. The United States and Canada can only use two-prong sockets, and three-prong sockets require adapters.

Carry an unlimited traffic Internet card common in the United States and Canada to maintain hotspot sharing of wireless networks all the way.

Jiajie is responsible for arranging the strategies for each place. As before, I am only responsible for booking flights, cars, cities, and hotels. The next details are all the work of Jiajie, a professional French tour guide. I know nothing about the tourist attractions in each city and have no interest in knowing. When I get to the destination, I am just a driver. Jiajie goes wherever she says, including a whole day trip to the outlet in Woodbury, New York. You can’t refuse shopping. Thank you very much for your careful guide and careful arrangements!

Just like that, we were on our way.

Day 1 07 27 Shanghai – Toronto

Flying and flying, flying and flying, after flying for 15 hours and watching 5 movies, I finally arrived at Toronto Pearson Airport at 9 pm and went straight to HERTZ to pick up the car. The procedure was very simple. The staff said: The car is parked in parking space 305, and the key is inside the car. Enjoy! Hoho, the key is inside the car. It really feels safe. The originally scheduled Dodge has turned into a Toyota overlord! Moreover, it is a brand new car with only 1,600 kilometers driven. It feels like it has already been earned before it even starts.

The suitcase was larger than expected, and I was thinking of taking a taxi home, but the four 28-inch boxes were safely placed in the trunk, and three small 24-inch boxes could be piled on top. Super!

I brought a GAMIN navigator with me, which should be universal in North America. However, the navigation process requires a running-in period. I can only understand the navigation instructions issued by my GOOGLE. Maybe I am not intelligent enough. Plugging in the Canadian calling card and driving GOOGLE Navigation, we headed straight to our temporary home in Toronto!

Daniel, the landlord's friend, came slowly and leisurely with his tow as we were groping for the house number and preparing to park. Janvier was away from Toronto for business, so he came to welcome us. Our first landlord and the only one we met in person. At first glance, he looks like Janvier's good friend. He is Chinese, but he doesn't speak Chinese and is very short. The structure, functions, etc. of the room were introduced very carefully. Detached villa with garden in front and back. Three bedrooms are on the second floor, a large living room and two bathrooms are on the first floor. The kitchen is fully equipped. Everywhere in the room is decorated with souvenirs brought back from travels, very carefully and carefully. Well-deserved GAYMAN's unique meticulousness and cleanliness. great. Everyone has no intention of packing their luggage, taking pictures everywhere, connecting to WIFI, taking pictures, editing pictures, putting together puzzles, and finally posting on WeChat Moments!

This is our starting point in Toronto and our final destination after 20 days. We left three empty boxes in Janvier’s garage and traveled lightly with the 24-inch small box.

We divided the room and went to bed directly. Although I was extremely excited, I really had to sleep in order to overcome the jet lag. I informed the aunts and mothers that they needed a few days to recover from jet lag, but they ignored them.

Day Two 07 28 Toronto Ontario – Winery Niagara Falls Niagara Falls

A group of women went out for a walk at 7 o'clock to find food. I bought coffee and bread at Xin Starbucks and walked 20 minutes to the shore of Lake Ontario for breakfast. People going to work haven't gone out yet, but people who go for morning jogs, morning swims, windsurfing, walking dogs, and walking children are already spreading out in lakes and parks. The dogs here are very happy. They walk around the lake. When it gets hot, they go directly to the lake for a swim. They shake their fur and come up again. When it gets warm, they go back again. Xin'er was so excited that she went to play with the wet dog, and even wanted to ask for a hug without minding it.

The walk back was all uphill, which caused cramps in my numb feet! The first day!

At 9:30, I revised my plan and drove to Niagara Falls (I always say Nicaragua, why is that!). I passed through many wineries and stopped for a while at INNISKILLIN winery. People who drive can still enjoy wine tasting! I tasted 4 types: red wine, white wine and ice wine. I bought ice wine and a bottle of red wine to drink in the evening in Ottawa. Later, ANDREW despised it and called it a gun shop. 😓

The town where Niagara Falls is located is completely a theme park. It is a town made of animation, cartoon, and movie themes. It is full of amusement facilities and is a bit like a carnival. It doesn't make sense to me. I found a random fast food restaurant and it tasted terrible.

Standing in front of the waterfall, it is still very spectacular, especially on the Canadian side. It is indeed the largest transnational waterfall in the world. Originally, I planned to take the "Maid of the Mist" to enter two large waterfalls and feel wet. I also made a reservation for dinner at the Skylen TOWER revolving restaurant. Plans always fail to keep up with changes. The elevator from the embankment to the bottom of the valley cannot work due to lack of electricity. I helplessly watch those who have bought tickets waiting in line because I don’t know how long they will wait. I don’t know if the electricity will be available today. Abandoning the boat and dinner, we headed straight back to Toronto.

In the afternoon, we went to St. Laurence Market and bought some food and fruits. Tomorrow's breakfast will be fine.

**Seriously add:

The sunset here is around 20:30 every day, which means that it doesn’t get dark until after 21 o’clock. The sunrise is basically around 6 o'clock every morning. The days are so long. I don’t feel like having dinner before 20 o’clock every day because it’s not dark. (The picture below was taken on the Circle Line at 20:00 in the evening. I’m sorry to say that it was taken by the driver)

Check restaurants on TripAdvisor. Good restaurants either have no seats or close at 9 o'clock. Finally we found a small restaurant, New Orleans Seafood & Steakhouse. I called and said the kitchen would close at 21:00, but the restaurant was willing to accommodate us and told us to come between 20:45-21:00. Are you early? Location.

It's a very small restaurant. No wonder I went there early and didn't have a seat. There happened to be a big table to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant is located in a residential area. At first glance, it looks like a restaurant that only deals with neighborhood business. The owner came to greet us and asked us enthusiastically where we came from. After all, we rarely see Chinese people, and there are always a group of people here. The taste of the food was amazing. Although the aunts and mothers, including Xin'er, almost fell asleep while eating due to jet lag, they still said it was so delicious. The boss insisted on giving us desserts and after-dinner wine, but he had no choice but to give up after seeing that all the women on the table were drowsy.

Day 3 07 29 Toronto – Kingston – Ottawa

At 5:30, I arranged the day’s itinerary with Jiajie in the living room, and booked a cruise on KINGSTON’s Thousand Island Lake with a snap of my head. KINGSTON is a lakeside town that you pass halfway to Ottawa.

At 6:30, I continued to be the industrious little bee and prepared a sumptuous breakfast for everyone: smoked salmon with farmer's cheese and toast, fried poached eggs, cured ham rolls with cheese, milk and cereal. Yes, I have always been so virtuous. He can leave the hall, enter the kitchen, and he can also be a long-distance coachman.

After eating, we went straight to KINGSTON. Save it for the Art Gallery of Ontario and visit the Toronto Museum on your return trip. They say we set off directly, but in fact it takes more than 30 minutes to go out every day. It actually doesn’t take long to go to the toilet. We only have WIFI at home, and we can’t go out without using the Internet vigorously. And it’s night in China in the morning. After posting to Moments, I still have to wait to collect likes, comments and replies!

It took 2.5 hours to drive to the small town of KINGSTON, a very quiet port. We took a walk around the pier, which was a bit European.

1000 island, translated as Qiandao Lake. The 3-hour cruise includes a lunch, and today’s lunch also provides free wine tasting and snacks. Very happy to board the ship. While eating, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery (the scenery is average) and enjoy the funny performances.

When the boat was about to sail, a couple came up and wanted to share a table with us because they didn’t have a reservation. There were exactly 8 people per table. We and the other party were very reluctant and said that we would share it for the time being and move to a separate table when the ship sailed. After all, there were still many empty seats on the ship, but the waiter was unwilling to open a new table. But as soon as we sat down, the conversation started and I couldn't stop it: it turned out that this couple was a halfway couple, not yet married, but currently in love. Anne is an Indian who was divorced after more than 20 years of marriage. She met W (forgot his name) who had been divorced for 17 years. W is a white man from Toronto with a perverted face. Anne is a very charming woman who understands life, likes cooking and socializing, and also provides her own accommodation for international students and exchange students from Asia. W said that Anne took good care of her garden at home and could cook incredibly delicious curry salmon. W kept chatting with me, telling me how he started dating and changing girlfriends online after his divorce, saying how unreliable it was but how much fun it was. Foreigners are really casual. When the music started, Anne pulled W to dance in the narrow stage area. Later, she also pulled a table of women from us to dance together. The shy Asians were led by the enthusiastic Indians to sway together. Among them, W was stuck on a plane. From touching her hands to hugging her waist, her aunt and mother did not let her go! It passed quickly in 3 hours. Anne was a little reluctant to leave. She left her phone number and home address, and invited us to have dinner at her house when we returned to Toronto. She wanted to treat us to curry salmon and barbecue. I thought it was just being polite, but the other person sent me a text message to confirm dinner and other matters very seriously. After analysis and discussion by our American friends, we politely declined their warm invitation. What if we are the main course for dinner? Too abrupt, too enthusiastic. Anne's temperament makes people feel very comfortable, and they can be attracted and attracted by her immediately, but W is too sexy and uncomfortable. So I still won’t go.

Drive 2 hours to Ottawa, the capital of Canada. We went directly to the accommodation where we were staying, 511 Mido St. It was a duplex on the second floor of an apartment building. The living room is relatively small and the space is very compact, but it is very practical and has a retro + fashion style.

It takes 15 minutes to walk from home to the old market, where there are many restaurants of all sizes. We chose a restaurant for dinner, but everyone still fell asleep while eating! ! ! No more talking, no more pictures, I just fell asleep. Why is the jet lag so bad? . . In the evening, Mommy couldn't walk anymore, so she and Apple took a taxi home. The 5-minute drive cost 7 Canadian dollars, which was very reasonable, but they probably didn't pay a tip!

Day 4 07 30 Ottawa Ontario

It takes 20 minutes to walk to the Capitol Hill from where I live. Today I visited all by walking, and they are all in the same area. Queue up to get free tickets to visit the Capitol Hill. The visit is at designated times.

Before entering the tour, we just happened to catch up with the 9:30 changing of the guard ceremony. This is the most eye-catching ceremony in the Parliament Building every summer. The ceremony is conducted in full compliance with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police ceremony; the first ceremony was at It was held in 1959 when Queen Elizabeth II inspected Canada. This tradition has been followed since then; the changing of the guard ceremony refers to the handover ceremony of on- and off-duty guards. The guards wear dark red tops and black trousers, and wear black hats. Fur tall hats are solemn and gorgeous; from July to August every year, this bright and dazzling changing of the guard ceremony will be held on time every morning, and the ceremony lasts about 30 minutes; the changing of the guard ceremony in Ottawa is a spectacular scene with a long history. It is also rare in today's world.

Enter the Capitol Building at 10 o'clock, go through the security check, and follow the guide to start the tour from the designated route. I am not familiar with or understand the Canadian government system, and it sounds confusing.

The Parliament Building is located on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, the capital of Canada. It is a symbol of Ottawa and even Canada. The Parliament Building is composed of three Gothic buildings, divided into the Central District, the East District and the West District. It is the current seat of the Canadian government and the Senate. The Parliament Building is the central symbol of Canada. The maple leaf flag fluttering in the wind on the bell tower and a series of stone and copper-roofed Gothic buildings standing resolutely on the banks of the Ottawa River symbolize the unyielding spirit of the Canadian nation. We visited the Senate and the House of Representatives in the central area. In the solemn rotunda, there is a marble statue of the majestic Queen Victoria, surrounded by statues of early prime ministers; in the east hall, there is also a prototype of the first Prime Minister. The office of Prime Minister John Alexander Macdonald is also open to the public.

There is also a library, which was awe-inspiring as soon as I entered it. This is the library! ! !

After the explanation, there is still free time to visit. You can wait until the top of the bell tower to overlook the entire Capitol Hill.

It was already noon when we came out of the Parliament Building. We walked for 10 minutes and had some sandwiches and pizza in the old market and then went directly to the Cathedral and the National Gallery. They are all within walking distance of one area, so the places to visit are very concentrated. A certain cathedral and the National Gallery happen to be facing each other.

Every time I step into the church, I will be shocked by the architectural details and magnificence inside. However, the time for wow is shorter and the frequency of repeating wow is less and less. Because after all, aesthetics will be tiring. I have to admire how influential religion is. It can be seen from the architecture. You are willing to spend so much financial and manpower to build it. The Holy Spirit and solemnity are naturally established. I admire you!

The National Gallery of Canada is known as Canada's cultural treasure, not only because of its unique architectural structure and novel internal glass architecture, but also because of its unique artistic expression. In addition to collecting beautiful exquisite works of art and static paintings, the museum also provides visitors with dynamic art performances, such as violin performances, accordion performances, orchestral instrument performances, singing performances, etc. The tranquil indoor garden and The dynamic performance symphony collaboration on the other side of the museum makes the National Gallery even more vibrant and the icing on the cake.

The picture below reminds me of the FLASH bar in Shanghai. You need to pass the Coca-Cola machine to enter.

I accepted the infinite artistic atmosphere in the art museum, and my walking style became much more elegant. But I really couldn’t walk at this moment, so I went to take a boat ride on the canal. I would say that the boats so far have been boring. The scenery is not bad, but very bland. It is just right for a short break.

After walking for more than 10,000 steps in a day, Mommy and Pingguo took Bad and Kim to take a taxi home, which was still 7 Canadian dollars (they definitely didn’t pay tips😓). Jiajie and I walked 20 minutes home and passed the supermarket to buy food for dinner. Let’s cook at home tonight, because everyone will go to bed when it’s dinner time, so I’ll cook it for you at home. It doesn’t matter if you fall asleep while eating. It just so happened that the wine bought from the winery was ready to drink.

I'm still very satisfied with my cooking skills, but I can't help but make other people's kitchens and homes smell like butter.

Ps.: I discovered that corn does not need to be roasted and can be eaten raw. This is authentic sweet corn, and it is in season.

Those who haven’t recovered from jet lag can only sleep at home. Those who feel refreshed after the meal can walk back to Capitol Hill again. Because every year from early May to Labor Day in September, the Sound and Light Show is held on Parliament Hill, which is one of Ottawa's most famous landscapes. We just happened to catch up. At that time, the Parliament Building and the statues everywhere will be lit up with lights, and the building will be simulated in the form of human speech, using light and sound to explain the founding history of Canada. This show is not only highly imaginative, but the language is also easy to understand. Everyone sat on the lawn in front of the Capitol and watched the unparalleled light show for free.

Day 5 07 31 Montreal Quebec

After breakfast we drove for 2.5 hours and followed Yun all the way to the old city of Montreal. The Old Town is the main tourist attraction in Montreal. It is bounded by Berri Street and McGill Street in the east and west, and by the St. Lawrence River and St. Jacques Street in the north and south. An area bounded by the St. Lawrence River. Wandering around the busy harbor in the old town, sightseeing carriages decorated gorgeously and draped with flowers occasionally drive past exquisite French landscapes and ancient castles. The crisp sound of horse hooves is sprinkled with the sound of bells, and the streets are full of joy and joy. It's spring, and I feel like I'm in Europe due to jet lag.

Mom couldn't help feeling like a girl when she saw the carriage, and she must find her romantic feelings back then. So we got on a white (female) horse with pink decorations, named Lily.

You can spend most of the day in the old town. There are many old buildings to visit, and the most famous church is the Notre Dame Cathedral, which belongs to the same church as Notre Dame de Paris. There is a fee to visit.

Little Italy area.

We wandered around the old town for a morning and an afternoon. Mommy and Apple were waiting for us at Starbucks, and they went back an hour late. We really liked this place, but we really couldn't walk.

This photo was ultimately selected as the cover of the magazine book.

AirBnB requires check-in after 4 pm. The landlord was out of town and asked his daughter to clean the room and greet us. My daughter is in high school, and she has to clean her father's room during the summer vacation, which is considered very good. When we arrived she was still putting on the final drying towels. My English is not very good, so I was a little nervous when we came. Later, when I chatted with the landlord, I found out that the little girl is learning Chinese and will come to Shanghai in February next year!

This house is by the lake. The environment is great and suitable for morning jogging. It takes 20 minutes to drive from the old town and 20 minutes to the city center.

This kind of conjoined villa is divided into upper and lower floors. Our door opens to go directly to the second floor, and the door on the side opens to the first floor or the first underground floor. The space is actually about the same.

After settling in, we went to a very famous small shop that sells corned beef. The shop was very small and we originally planned to take away the food. However, we were so kind that after queuing for 5 minutes, a table for 6 people became available. After cooking, I didn’t know how to order, so I directly asked others what they were here to eat. The handsome guy was very understanding and patiently said that everyone is here for XXX and XXX, so I will just order 6 portions for you, and it will be enough to eat. Simple, clear and efficient! The homemade signature corned beef is sandwiched with bread. The beef can be served hot or cold, and the portion is generous. (I think it tastes good cold) and one portion is definitely filling. Plus salad and cheese fries, you can’t beat it! Finally, I decided to have a full meal when I leave Montreal the morning after tomorrow! The queue is worth it, no matter how long it is.

Later I discovered that there was also a Montreal Deli in Shanghai, selling basically the same things.

Day 6 08 01 Montreal

I woke up in the morning and went to the lake for a 2-kilometer run. It rained early in the morning and the air was extremely fresh, which was refreshing for my lungs.

Today I finally got Apple to help me prepare breakfast, and it was so delicious! Breakfast alone has been open for a week.

Habitat 67

The chief designer of Habitat 67 is Canadian architect Moshe Safdie. When Safdie designed and built Habitat 67, based on the ideal of providing social welfare (low-cost) housing to low- and middle-income groups, each box-type residential unit was set as a unified module, and then prefabricated and built like a container. They are piled up in an uneven manner. Already in the early 1960s, while studying architecture at McGill University, Shafdi discovered a concept of urban and three-dimensional housing that reorganized the "dwelling of a single-parent family" in an acceptable density form. Habitat 67 is the overall embodiment of this concept.

After Montreal won the right to host the 1967 World Expo, in order to echo the theme of the World Expo "Man and the World," the authorities decided to build a new residential community to demonstrate the development trend of modern urban housing economy, ecology, and environmental protection. Safdie's theory made the cut. According to the year of the World Expo, the community was named "Habitat 67". The most attractive venue of the World Expo was not completed until the opening day of the World Expo. In order to ensure that the community could be unveiled at the World Expo, the scale of the community had to be significantly reduced. Only 158 of the planned 900 units were completed.

Habitat 67 was once idle due to the removal of Aboriginal people. It wasn't until the 1970s that a Chinese-Canadian designer bought four units here and renovated and designed the interiors of two of the units. After using them as their own residences, more and more people with strong financial strength cherished them. Exceptional value home buyers choose to move in here. Habitat 67 has suddenly transformed from a social welfare housing into an unattainable high-end community. In addition, Habitat 67 belongs to common property rights, and all residents must voluntarily maintain it. In the eyes of all Canadians, this is a place they are proud of and a very precious historical heritage.

The origin of Montreal's name comes from Mount Royal (Mount-Royal), located in the center of the city. Although this hill is not high, it is close to downtown Montreal. There is a vast park on the hill and the view is very good. Looking down from the top of the hill, you can have a panoramic view of the St. Lawrence River and the urban area lined with high-rise buildings. fundus.

I came down from Mount Royal and looked for Jiajie's colorful house among the buildings in Spain and Portugal, but I never found what she saw in the introduction. The houses along the way are colorful and have personalized graffiti, which is very interesting. The house was not found, so give Jiajie some colorful doors.

Graffiti is everywhere in Canada.

For some reason, I missed St. Joseph's Cathedral when I went to Mount Royal in the morning. This is the only church whose name I can remember because it is so spectacular! In the evening we went up Mount Royal again 30 minutes before closing time. This church has no less than 6 parking lots, large and small, distributed on various floors of the church. The dome on the top floor cannot be accessed casually. You can only go up to the highest open-air platform, and elevators and escalators are used inside to make it easier for worshipers to go up and down.

When they returned to their residence in the evening, Mommy and Pingguo were at home and refused to go out, so they directly ordered Chinese takeout. It is said to be very unpalatable. The three of us drove to the city and found a pizza restaurant that was full of seats. After eating, we went home to wash up and sleep. I will enter the United States tomorrow.

Day 7 08 02 Canada – United States

In the morning, I queued for 1 hour to buy marinated beef (I also bought a roast chicken as lunch on the way to save time. All their marinated meats are delicious), drove for 7 hours, crossed the border for 1 hour, and stopped on the road for 1 hour. I think this day was the most tiring day. I left early and returned late, and finally found YY's home in the national park. The villa has a 1.5-acre garden, a swimming pool, and a private plot. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the beach. You can see many wild animals. I caught a toad, and found a big turtle on the side of the road. The big lobster shells I ate at night attracted a white fox and a small rubbish collector. Raccoon.

The houses all have large floor-to-ceiling glass windows without curtains. On the one hand, they are more expensive, and on the other hand, they are unnecessary. You cannot see the neighbors, and at most they will be peeked by wild animals.

Day 8 08 03 Cape Code, Massachusetts

We originally booked a boat trip early in the morning to go out to see whales, but unexpectedly there was a heavy rain, so we had to change it to noon. The weather forecast said it would clear up at noon. So we were going to go to the small town at the dock for a stroll. Unexpectedly, when we started the car, the sand and gravel laid on the saline-alkali ground were too soft. It might have been because of the rain. When we reversed the car, the left wheel got stuck in the sand and gravel, which happened to be a slope. , tried many times, only to see that the car sank deeper and deeper, and fell 2 meters directly to the lower slope of the woods. If it were not blocked by a few small trees, the car must have fallen into the woods. then. . . then. . . The tow truck came and it took 2 minutes and 250 US dollars to save him instantly. Fortunately it was a false alarm. YY has always boasted about my driving skills, but this time I really lost my reputation!

There was not much time to let me down. I boarded a boat from the pier of the gay town of Province town to watch whales, humpback whales, also called humpback whales. After the boat sailed for more than an hour, we saw many whales. They were not as big as I thought, but they were extremely active. He can actually jump, roll and clap like a dolphin, so enthusiastic. There was a family of three whales that swam with our boat for a long time. All the passengers lay on the left deck and watched with great interest. No one cared that the boat was tilted and was about to capsize. Everyone was so excited that they applauded unconsciously every time they saw the whale jumping and turning over! Be an aquarium!

There is nothing delicious in Cape Cod, except for Boston lobster, which costs 8-10 US dollars/pound. The locals are tired of it, and YY’s family hasn’t eaten it in 2 years. This time we specially ordered a lot of large lobsters, served with oysters + rabbit sausage, steak, and corn. . . It's really delicious and couldn't be more delicious.

The locals dip the cooked lobster (it seems to be steamed) into butter and eat it, it's so delicious. Is this also true for the butter-baked lobster that Chinese people like? !

I would like to express my special thanks to David for taking care of our Chinese stomachs and trying to cook lobster porridge for the first time at home. It was a huge success, so delicious that I licked the pot clean.

Day 9 08 04 Cape Cod

These days I basically just eat, drink, and walk on the beach. . . YY’s house was our transit point along the way, and everyone had a good rest. Everyone has recovered from the jet lag, and Apple finally stopped getting up at 3 a.m. every day to check Moments.

In the afternoon, YY took us to TJ Max. After 9 days without shopping for Apple, it was like a mouse dropped into a rice vat and we couldn’t stop it!

Day 10 08 05 Cape Cod – New York

Always say BYE BYE, YY, see you in Shanghai!

After driving for 5 hours, we arrived in New York. Everyone was very excited. We went directly to Manhattan in the evening to feel the atmosphere of New York!

Have you found us on the screen?

I didn't look clearly when I booked the room. It turned out that I didn't live in New York, but in New Jersey across the street! 🐷There is no way to blame myself. But the house is great, so forget it.

Ps, I confirmed the parking location with the landlord again and again, paid the parking fee for 2 days, and hung the parking permit sign, but I still received a ticket the next morning, alas. . . IQ! 😓

Day 11 08 06 New York

But there are mistakes. Going to the Statue of Liberty from New Jersey is more convenient, the route is closer, the parking fee is cheap, there are fewer people, and there is no need to queue to board the boat. Gains and losses are always fair, and you can gain as well as lose. After comforting myself like this, the guilt disappeared instantly.

The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France to the United States in 1876 to commemorate the American-French Alliance during the American War of Independence. The Statue of Liberty is dressed in ancient Greek-style clothing, with a radiant crown on her head, and seven pointed rays symbolizing the seven continents. The right hand holds a torch symbolizing freedom, and the left hand holds the Declaration of Independence; under the feet are broken handcuffs, shackles and chains, symbolizing freedom from the constraints of tyranny. The Statue of Liberty is a symbol of the United States, a symbol of friendship between the American nation and the people of the United States and France, and expresses the lofty ideals of the American people for democracy and freedom. For thousands of immigrants who came to the United States, the Statue of Liberty was a guarantee of escape from poverty and oppression in the old world. The Statue of Liberty became a symbol of the United States.

After lunch, we parked the car near the Apple store in Central Park. It cost 78 US dollars for 10 hours. This is still an ordinary price. In the afternoon, we walked around Central Park to do some activities. Mommy and Pingguo drank coffee in the park, Jiajie and Huahuai went to the art museum, and I took KIM to the zoo. The scattered activities made the time a lot more leisurely. It was very pleasant to sit on Fifth Avenue with KIM, eat ice cream, and watch the cars and people go by.

Day 12 08 07 New York – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

It took 1.5 hours to drive from New Jersey and arrived at WOODBURY PREMIUM OUTLET on time at 10 o'clock (we arrived in anticipation of the opening time). It is the largest outlet in the United States and the most exciting day for Apple. With a lot of US dollars in cash, we have been waiting for today! We didn't leave WOODBURY until 7 pm. Fortunately, it didn't get dark until 8:30, and we continued driving for 1.5 hours to Philadelphia.

The B&B I booked before was canceled and I couldn't find a better place. I chose a hotel-style apartment owned by Hilton. It has 2 bedrooms and 2 living rooms. It is very spacious. Except for the parking fee, which costs 32 US dollars a night, everything else is great.

Some little girls even skipped lunch and dinner in order to go shopping more crazily in the outlets, which was a shame. The location of the hotel is very good. It takes 5 minutes to walk to the HARD ROCK restaurant for drinks and late night snacks to replenish the girls' energy.

Day Thirteen 08 08 Philadelphia

Philadelphia is one of the oldest and most historic cities in the United States. It was the capital of the United States from 1790 to 1800 before the founding of Washington, D.C., so it plays a very important role in American history. Philadelphia, also known as the "Friendly City", is the largest city in Pennsylvania, separated from New Jersey by a river; it is the fifth largest city in the United States, second only to New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Houston; it is the fourth largest metropolitan area in the United States, only After New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

The hotel is located in the center of Philadelphia, so you can gain a lot by walking for half a day. In fact, everyone's interest in traveling had decreased a lot by the thirteenth day, at least that's how I felt. But Philadelphia really stood out to me. The city is very comfortable and quiet, the people are simple and the pace of life is slow. There are no people on the street, oh, it’s Saturday! While walking through Chinatown, Mommy and Pingguo were so excited, which must have aroused their desire for Chinese food. I didn't have any Chinese food along the way, so I felt a little guilty, although they were holding on to it.

Because of the weekend, a street band played and sang this country music, and the audience sat directly on the haystacks. Of course, the loyal fans also sat on the side, with a lot of cattle, sheep and sheep. . .

As expected, Mommy and Apple (mainly Mommy) couldn't walk anymore, so they retraced their steps and headed back to the hotel to rest. We continued to walk around and take photos, and as we walked we entered the commercial street, saw northernstorm RACK, and that was it. I can’t walk anymore, I have to go shopping! RACK is a shopping mall similar to TJ MAX, which brings together many luxury goods but at discounted prices. To take care of Xin'er, I ended my SHOPPING early in the afternoon and returned to the hotel to go swimming with Xin'er. Mom and Pingguo, who were sleeping in the hotel, heard SHOPPING and their eyes lit up. Why should they sleep? The motor was turned on at full speed and they followed my drawings. The map goes straight to RACK. The woman said she couldn't walk anymore. There was only one possibility: there were no shops on that road.

I was shopping in the afternoon and saw a great restaurant, McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood & St, so I made a reservation for dinner. It was great and worth it.

Day 14 08 09 Philadelphia – Baltimore

After a good sleep, I finished my breakfast lazily and picked up some Black Bolin from the hotel breakfast room. Six people committed the crime, a total of 11 pieces, which probably weighed 2 kilograms. Wow haha. . . Please forgive me, I am a Chinese and I like to take advantage of small things. Besides, Heibulin is so delicious in the United States. . .

I drove for more than an hour to Baltimore, a small city that is often mentioned in American TV dramas. It is mostly negative. There is nothing interesting in the town, and there is only one famous aquarium. So I spent the whole morning with my friends in the water, and got to know several kinds of small sharks. The dolphins are also very smart and well-behaved.

I was looking for food in the Little Italy area at noon. It was Sunday and there was only one Italian restaurant open. I ordered a bunch of pasta, noodles of various shapes and weird flavors. . . Mommy ate a steel wire in the last bite of noodles, and a piece of paper in the dessert. . . I have to say that the level is very high. You can eat noodles for 8 cents without having to pay, which is high. . .

Continue in the afternoon and drive 1.5 hours to Washington. Washington D.C., the capital of the United States of America, is located near Virginia and Maryland in the northeastern and mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. It is a special administrative region established as the capital in 1790 and directly under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Congress. Therefore, it is not Any state in the United States.

This time we stayed on the basement floor of the attached villa. The room was small, very detailed, and clean. The only downside is that the dining table is small.

Parking is not allowed in front of the house, so I drove around and found a good parking space. I specifically found a GAYMAN who was walking his fadou to confirm the parking sign, so I could park with confidence.

Obviously after more than ten days of travel, my interest in traveling has been reduced by at least half, and I am at least a little tired. After resting for a while in the afternoon, I no longer had the heart to drive in the evening, so I followed the landlord’s suggestion and walked to find food. There are 2 restaurants 2 intersections away. They both look good and the business is very good. We decided to eat at each restaurant one day at a time. Along the way, we passed many colorful houses with pointed roofs. Jiajie, I searched half the city in Montreal but couldn't find it. It turns out there are so many in Washington. . .

Day 15 08 10 Washington

There are so many places to visit, and you need to walk across them. Parking is also a problem. Parking on the side of the road requires a coin every 2 hours. There are many parking restrictions in many places, and you can and cannot park at what time. So of course there was a lot of walking, and since there were so many places to go, we split up.

The United States Capitol was photographed directly outside. The top was being renovated, so it didn’t look pretty in the photo.

Library of Congress, Mom, Jiajie and a group of four went to the library.

I took little KIM to the Indoor Botanical Garden first, then queued up to enter the Aviation Museum, and hurried back 2 hours later to pay for coin parking.

I have been walking for more than ten days and can no longer walk. So driving to pick up the team has become the most popular way. Drive around the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, and cross the river to see the Pentagon. As a result, we drove the wrong way, crossed the river repeatedly, and looked at the Pentagon several times.

In the afternoon, after going around several times, I finally found the Museum of Natural History at Museum Night. It feels like I’m here for a trip, and I can’t even take photos. (No accompanying pictures, too lazy to steal them)

Day 16 08 11 Washington – Cleveland, Ohio

The drive back to Toronto took 10 hours, and I had to stop in Cleveland for one night. We were amazed by the city and the B&B in Cleveland. We didn't expect this small place to be so beautiful. The B&B we rented was huge and awesome, with 4 bedrooms and 2 living rooms! For Cleveland there is really only the concept of the Cavaliers. There is not much to visit in Cleveland. I arrived a little late. The old market was closed, so I had to go to the supermarket to buy food. Get ready to treat yourself to some beef and corn ramen at home. Unexpectedly, instant noodles that taste so bad are so popular. Everyone’s expectations for me are really getting lower and lower. The most important thing is that I have basically never eaten anything soupy and watery! What a pity!

Day 17 08 12 Cleveland – Toronto

After a half-day drive, I went straight to TORONTO PREMIUM OUTLETS, an outlet in Toronto. Although it is not big, all the brands I like are there, making shopping more convenient. Surprisingly, compared with the same thing in the United States, the price is the same, but it is cheaper in Canada by an exchange rate difference. Although the tax in Canada is 13% higher and the tax in the United States is 8-10%, Canada is still cheaper.

Therefore, some people don’t need to eat dinner!

Omit the thousand-word shopping chapter. . .

Drive 1 hour back to Toronto. . .

Day 18 08 13 Last day in Toronto

There are basically no tourist attractions anymore, including museums and art galleries, I’m sorry. For shopping, I went directly to the Eaton Center, a shopping mall that is as big as the entire Xujiahui. Went to WALTMART again to finish the final shopping.

The last supper was set at THE K.E.G., which ANDREW highly recommended. We specially chose KEG The Mansion for our last dinner!

Although I was a little tired from playing, I really couldn’t bear to leave. Canada is really nice. I like MONTREAL. I have the urge to pick up French when I return to Shanghai.

Day 19 08 14 Toronto – Hong Kong

The Toyota Overlord is really powerful, with four 28-inch boxes, five 24-inch boxes, and 10 hand luggage or travel bags. admire!

Day 20 08 15 Hong Kong – Shanghai

There was a thunderstorm in Hong Kong, and all flights were severely delayed. Our flight was the last one, so we didn’t hesitate and just obeyed Dragonair’s allocation and stayed at a hotel in Sha Tin (the airport hotel was already full). Forget it, it’s not bad to have a Hong Kong-style late-night snack. I’m already very tired after flying for 15 hours. I need to have a good sleep after eating. We arrived in Shanghai early the next morning.

HOME SWEET HOME!
