This is a two-day and one-night tour guide to Nan'ao Island. Not only did we go to Qing'ao Bay in Eastern Hawaii, we also visited the historic General Military Mansion and watched the beautiful sunrise at Tropic of Cancer Square. We stayed in a fancy hotel and ate fresh and sweet seafood. Let’s take a look with the editor below!

DAY1 Qing'ao Bay

13:00 Arrive at Nan'ao Island and check into hotel.

13:30 Qing'ao Bay Beach Playground, swim, build beach castles, play sea motorcycles or speedboats.
Qing'ao Bay, known as "Oriental Hawaii", has a bay like a crescent moon and a sea surface like a flat lake. The golden soft sand bay stretches for more than 2,400 meters, with gentle slope and clean sand, extending to 100 meters underwater. It is one of the two A-level bathing beaches in Guangdong Province.

16:30 Take photos at Tropic of Cancer Square.
Nan'ao Island's "Nature's Gate" is the 11th Tropic of Cancer landmark tower built so far in my country. At noon on the summer solstice every year, when the sun shines directly on the Tropic of Cancer, the sun's shadow will pass through the central tube of the sphere above the Nature Gate and project onto the center of the platform.

17:00 Take a walk along the Sea Dream Observation Corridor and watch the sunset.
The Sea Dream Corridor is built along the seaside rocks. It has promenades and several pavilions. The theme color is eye-catching yellow. When the weather is fine, it is paired with blue sky, white clouds and blue sea, which makes it more interesting.

For dinner, we chose the Fisherman’s Kitchen Food Stall. In addition to seafood, the specialty casserole porridge is also good.

There are also many options for late night snacks. There is a barbecue along the beach boardwalk. There is a 23° North Latitude music restaurant and bar in Xianghu Bay. Bihailantian Garden has an agreed Qingao Bay branch and KTV.

DAY2 Watch the sunrise + Treasure Island + General Military Mansion

5:00 Watch the sunrise at Tropic of Cancer Square.

The North Loop Plaza is just east of Nan'ao Island and is an excellent place to watch the sunrise.

9:00 Take bus 601 at Qing'ao Bay Resort Station to Treasure Island and get off at Treasure Island Station.

According to legend, Treasure Island is where Wu Ping hid his treasure. The island has large rocks stacked on top of each other, winding paths leading to secluded areas, interspersed with caves, and it is extremely shady. The beautiful stone statue in front of the umbrella-shaped pavilion is Wu Ping's sister. She held the ingot in one hand and the sword in the other, looking like she was guarding the gold and silver. It is said that touching the ingot on her hand will bring you "luck in wealth".

10:00 Take 601 and get off at Baishawan Station and walk to visit the General Military Mansion. (If you have enough time, you can go to the nearby Nanshan Temple)
Sea bans were very strict during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The more severe the imperial restrictions, the more rampant private smuggling activities became. Coupled with the intrusion of Japanese pirates outside and pirates entrenched inside, more and more soldiers were stationed by the imperial court, and the standards of Nan'ao were gradually upgraded, eventually becoming an important military base for controlling Fujian, Guangdong and Taiwan.

11:00 Return to the hotel to pack your luggage. Take bus 601 at Tropic of Cancer Square Station and get off at Nan'ao Hotel Station (county seat).

Have a seafood dinner at Nan'ao Hotel for lunch. Amway’s seaweed fried rice is said to be a must-try for tourists. There are also quite a few seafood food stalls and seafood noodle restaurants nearby, which are cheap and affordable.

13:40 Because I was worried about traffic jams, I chose to go out to the island. The scenery on the bridge is so beautiful! Happy journey ends!
