During the epidemic this year, a friend took advantage of the Spring Festival to visit Weizhou Island and was quarantined in Beihai for several months. Since he was in quarantine anyway, he would share the scenery of Beihai online when he had nothing to do. It reminds me of my stroll on Weizhou Island in the summer of 2017.

It was a rare large-scale exercise that resulted in a 4-hour delay in the flight. I specifically booked a window seat to watch the sunset, but the evening flight became a red-eye flight. Of course it was pitch black outside the window, not even a star could be seen. It was already 2 a.m. when we arrived at Beihu and checked into the hotel, so we fell into bed and went to sleep. Get up at 6:30 in the morning and prepare to take the first boat to Weizhou Island.

  • After eating Beihai seafood rice noodles, we went straight to the pier and took the sea boat to Weizhou Island. The air was very humid and muggy, and we had to walk a long way out of the station.

  • Weizhou Island is very unfriendly to tourists. You have to walk a long way to get out of the waiting room at the pier. The scalpers barking for customers kept barking, and the vehicles we rented in advance were not allowed to enter. Every scenic spot on the island has roadblocks set up a few kilometers away, prohibiting the passage of our rented vehicles. To get to the scenic spot, you have to walk about 2 kilometers. Don’t want to walk? Please spend additional money to rent a battery car in the scenic area.

  • Weizhou Island, isolated offshore, actually has a Catholic church funded by French priests. All coral stones on the island are used for lotus picking. With its majestic style, it is the spiritual home for the people on the island to rest their souls.

Weizhou Catholic Church is a Catholic church located on Weizhou Island, Beihai City, Guangxi, China. It is also called Shengtang Catholic Church because it is located in Shengtang Village. The church was built by missionaries from the French Society for Foreign Missions in Paris and completed in 1880. The church is a Gothic building with a height of 21 meters and a total construction area of 774 square meters. Together with the ancillary buildings, the total area reaches more than 2,000 square meters. It is the largest Catholic church in the coastal area of Guangxi and was listed as a national cultural relic in 2001. unit.

The seafood market is one of the must-visit places for tourists. We borrowed a battery car from the enthusiastic Northeastern lady who owns the hotel and drove all the way to the seafood market.

People who are allergic to seafood, no matter how crazy they are, they just join in the fun. After shopping for a long time, they finally chose shrimps and small abalones as a token of their choice. They went back to the store and asked the lady from the Northeast to process them. The main reason was to try riding an electric bike around the island. Feel.

Looking at the entire Crocodile Mountain in the South Bay of Weizhou Island, it really looks like a big crocodile lying on the sea.

In the afternoon, we went to Crocodile Mouth Park, the most worth-seeing place on the island. The volcanic eruption is right on the seaside. The lava erupted in different shapes forms a unique scenery on the island. It is a good place to take wedding photos. Borrow flowers for photos

  • Weizhou Island is an island formed by volcanic eruptions. The volcanic rocks at Crocodile Mountain on Weizhou Island are in various shapes and forms. They are so wonderful that one cannot help but marvel at the wonders of nature. Facing the waves
This is also a place to see the sea. There are many sea erosion scenery, sea erosion mouths, sea erosion bridges, sea erosion platforms and other natural landscapes formed by various sea erosions.

Jackfruit can be seen everywhere in the courtyard

Sitting in the small courtyard of the hotel, I can't help but look at jackfruit, mango, and papaya. Every time I pass by the hotel yard, I have to resist picking this jackfruit because the boss says it can’t be eaten until August. After reading a thousand sails, I finally held my hand. This place of peace of mind is my hometown Weizhou Island in the middle of Beibu Gulf. Hiking in the sultry environment with a temperature of 38 degrees and a humidity of 90% is really exciting. Looking down is tropical plants, in the middle is the clear sea, and looking up is blue sky and white clouds. Every step you take is a visual reward. I found a lizard running quickly across the hot road, stopping on a pile of red soil, shaking its head left and right, and striking a pose. A standard lizard model made the camera shutter addictive. It's a pity that I didn't bring a telephoto lens, so I couldn't get a close-up of the excellent lizard model. The seaside is calm and calm early in the morning, and the sun shines on the sea, which is clear and transparent. We dived under the leadership of the instructor. The sea was very quiet. We could only hear the sound of our own breathing. Fish of various shapes and sizes were swimming leisurely in front of us, not caring about our arrival at all. The sunlight shines through the sea water, reflecting the colorful colors on the coral reefs, which is so beautiful and novel. The clown fish surrounding us We were still not satisfied with the island, so we decided to stay another day. In the early morning we walked along the path covered with bananas to the market in Nanwan. Because there is enough sunshine, the flowers and plants on the roadside are blooming. The simple Pozu Temple on the seaside also carries the good wishes of fishermen to go to sea safely, and the hard-working locals have begun their day's work. Most of the fruits in the market are transported to the island. The only seasonal fruit on the island is bananas. They are green on the outside but soft and sweet on the inside. They are delicious. Dark clouds are pressing down deep in the South China Sea.

God was angry at sunset today, and he was completely different from yesterday's peaceful one. Dark clouds covered the sky and strong winds were blowing. The waves roared and rolled up to the shore. Soon it started to rain. The little girls filming their friends jumping with a Nikon SLR camera were captured by someone holding a Nikon camera After the dark clouds passed, the sunset glowed slightly

The real fishermen of Weizhou Island

Many aborigines on the island can open inns if the location is good. Construction work is underway to build inns on the streets of the island. But the lives of many aborigines who make a living by fishing are not easy either. Walking into the small courtyard of an ordinary fisherman in the depths, a fisherman was repairing his fishing net. After talking to him, he learned that all small fishing boats were now banned from the sea for three months. There was no income, and the town government did not provide subsidies. He looked sad. No wonder seafood is much more expensive than what is written in the guide, and you can’t go out on a fishing boat to watch fishermen fishing. The cruise ship at the pier has not arrived in the early morning, and there is no one on the promenade. The sea breeze blows by and feels refreshing. The bananas on the island are sold by the bunch, but I wonder why the bananas at the pier are cheaper than on the island. If there were fewer roadblocks in the scenic spots, and if you could enter the scenic spots on the island without renting a car twice, Weizhou Island would still be worth spending a few more days.
