Encounter a better self while traveling

Every time I come back from a trip, friends always ask me two questions: First, who took the photos for you? I have already explained this question in "The Mystery of My Travel Photographer"; Second, how much did you spend on your trip to XX this time? Yes, about the cost.

So today, I will select a few main (or everyone will go there sooner or later) places and make a brief summary of the cost information for friends in need.

What needs special explanation is:

1. This cost list is only suitable for one-person travel arrangements that want to save as much money as possible, because I have never had the experience of traveling with two or more partners.

2. If you go on a honeymoon trip as a couple or as a young couple, your expenses will definitely be greater than double the expenses of an individual. After all, this is not the time to save money. If you don’t spend the money you earn on your wife, why should you keep it to raise your three children? Aunt?

3. For young masters who are not short of money and wealthy wives, you don’t need to scroll down. After all, the need to save money does not exist for you. So this article is not suitable for you!

Let’s get back to the legend Expenses, our daily expenses are nothing more than food, clothing, housing, transportation, travel, and travel is indispensable.

But now, I still want to eliminate two non-essential options (since I want to save, I will never spend a penny more if I can save an extra cent) : One is wearing , as long as you are not naked, this can basically be avoided, unless you plan to buy a jacket specifically for the next trip; secondly, you must have at least one pair of comfortable shoes, which is a prerequisite to ensure a smooth trip.

The other one is using , backpack, needless to say! Put away the stylish small satchels first, after all, they are not suitable for every occasion. Commonly used medicines and band-aids. If you don’t buy them at the last minute, it is recommended to keep them whether you need them or not. In addition, there are necessary clothes, umbrellas, paper towels, power banks, toiletries, etc. that are necessary for going out.

If you happen to have all of the above mentioned, congratulations, you can basically save at least a thousand yuan here.

The next thing is food, accommodation and transportation. Transportation will definitely account for the majority of the expenses. Needless to say, this expense is a must. No matter where you go. Then let's start with:

transportation expenses

The following cities are arranged in order from most to least expensive↓

Lhasa

For the outbound journey, it is recommended to take the train (the reason is mentioned in the second article of the guide) for the first time entering Tibet. The Qinghai-Tibet Railway departs from Xining and reaches Lhasa 21 hours, hard seat 220 Yuan, 500 Yuan for a hard sleeper. You can choose to sit or sleep for this period according to your personal energy. Add the cost from your city to Xining, which is the total cost of the outbound trip.

For the return trip, if you continue to take the train, the above fee will be X2; if you take the plane, the cost will usually range from 1,000 to 2,000 yuan depending on the distance, and may double on holidays.

I went to Tibet this time. Total transportation cost About 3,300 yuan, a week-long trip, total expenses are about 4,200 yuan. Including transportation within Lhasa and travel expenses to other nearby scenic spots.

Yunnan

When going to Yunnan, I usually go to Kunming first, and then go to Pu'er, Dali, Lijiang and other places according to my personal itinerary.

If time permits, you can choose the transportation mode with the best price and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. For hard-working office workers, it is recommended to fly directly to Kunming first, and then transfer to other cities in the province by train or car, which can save you money. A lot of time.

Air tickets in the off-season are not very expensive. Occasionally, air tickets can be purchased for three to five hundred yuan. At this time, there is no need to choose to take the train. Even if it is one or two hundred cheaper, the time cost is still very high. Transfers between cities in the province generally only cost a few dozen yuan, so the transportation cost to Yunnan is still much cheaper than that of Tibet.

My itinerary at that time was Shenzhen-Kunming-Dali-Shangri-La-Lijiang-Kunming-Shenzhen. Transportation costs approx. 2,000 yuan, a 12-day trip, accommodation costs about 300 yuan, and the total trip cost is about 3,500 yuan.

Chengdu

Chengdu and Chongqing are also cities that everyone will visit sooner or later! Although my trip to Chongqing has not started yet, I am always ready.

If you have been to Chengdu, let’s take Chengdu as an example for the cost! There won’t be much difference in transportation costs between the two places. Let’s put it this way! If it takes more than five hours to go to Chongqing or Chengdu by high-speed rail from your city, I suggest you fly there! Generally, the one-way fare in the off-season is 300 to 500 yuan, and the round trip is only about 1,000 yuan.

It was actually quite expensive when I went there, but I went as soon as I got excited. The round-trip air ticket totals 1,600 yuan, the trip lasts three days, and the accommodation totals 60 yuan. The total cost is about 2,000 yuan . The trip to Chengdu was lucky because of the warm hospitality of two good friends, taking turns accompanying me, pick-up and drop-off by a special car, saving money on transportation in the city, and paying for two hot pot meals.

★I would like to express my special thanks to my classmate Bobo who took the trouble to accompany me to visit Dujiangyan and share stories with me, and to my little brother Ye Zi who never needs the theme of dog and cat emoticons in the dialog box to have a fun conversation.

Guilin

The trip to Guilin last weekend was purely on a whim, but considering that the overall cost was not too high, that was the main reason for the quick trip.

The high-speed rail from Shenzhen to Guilin costs 210 yuan. I bought the ticket at 9 a.m. and set off at 11 a.m. It’s so refreshing and neat to go out alone without any companions!

When I arrived in Guilin that night, I took a walk around the city. I originally planned to go to Yangshuo to ride on the bamboo rafts the next day. Due to time constraints and the continuous rain and poor road conditions, I went to see the scenery on the 20-yuan RMB. I was stuck in traffic jam for more than two hours on the way back. This resulted in a high-speed rail ticket being scrapped and a motorcycle fare added in vain, totaling 40 yuan.

The trip was very short, and we returned to Shenzhen in the afternoon of the third day. Including round-trip transportation within the city, the total transportation cost is about 550 yuan, the trip lasts two days, the total accommodation is 70 yuan, and the total consumption is about 800 yuan .

Accommodation fee

Accommodation is not specific to each city. When I go out on my own, I stay in youth hostels or B&Bs. Depending on the city and the off-peak season, the price is generally between 20-50 yuan one night, Unless there are special circumstances, I generally won’t choose a youth hostel that costs more than 50 yuan, no matter where it is.

Friends who have stayed there know that living in a youth hostel is actually not as scary as you think. In fact, the conditions are much better than you think.

The fiercely competitive tourism market has made youth hostels in every tourist city become better and better in terms of comprehensive services and decoration styles, and their various comfortable furnishings will really make travelers feel like they are home.

Living in Fusheng Youth Hostel in Guilin, and the two dogs raised by the owner!

Don’t look at some people’s glamorous appearance.

In fact, there is not even a dog behind the scenes.

Regarding personal safety when staying in a youth hostel, in this strict legal society, there is really no need to worry too much. Generally, most of the people staying in youth hostels are students, backpackers who are often on the road, or junior (kǔ) (bī) professionals like me who are not well-off but want to go out. Clutter.

Here, you can interact with friends from different cities, different industries, and different identities, listen to their stories, learn more anecdotes, and chat with each other about the local characteristics, customs, and customs of their respective hometowns.

Over time, you will find that what you have changed is not only your vision, but also a broader mind and a more positive attitude towards life. You can learn a lot from meeting good people, and you can also make new friends if you can chat with them.

As for the safety of your property, your ID card, bank card and the few RMB you have to take out only when you go out will basically be kept in your carry-on bag. The rest is nothing more than a change of clothes and toiletries, so feel free to go and spend your time! Really no one would touch it.

Regarding the quality issue, you can completely measure it by your own quality: if you are good, you can believe that everyone is good; if you are bad, please believe that no one will be worse than you.

food expenses

The cost of meals will vary greatly as the number of people increases.

For example, my breakfast when I go out is usually a pancake or a bowl of noodles; for lunch, it would be best if I can encounter local snacks, but there is really no choice, at most it is a bowl of noodles or a few skewers, Therefore, the normal cost of food for a day will not exceed 50 yuan. Of course, I will also buy fruits or freshly squeezed juice, which are more expensive than rice.

I was very satisfied with the authentic Guilin rice noodles.

I remember that on the last day I stayed in Lijiang, I took the train back to Kunming in the afternoon and wandered around the ancient city at noon. When I went out, I saw a sesame cake stall and bought one (I like to eat pancakes. She is really a pure northern girl) .

Later, I saw a grilled fish restaurant and really wanted to eat it, but I was worried that it wouldn't be enough for one person. I remembered that a portion cost more than fifty yuan. I hesitated for a long time, but finally I gritted my teeth and ordered a plate. The fish was not big, but I still ate less than half of it. It was the most luxurious meal I have ever eaten alone while traveling.

For two or more people, anyone who can order a meal will get one hundred and eighty yuan, and three or five people will get half a thousand yuan. It’s hard for me to imagine a group of people walking into a shop with great fanfare, only to have one person order a piece of cake and then turn around and leave.

When going out to eat, it is rare for one person to order a bowl of noodles. Unless you are in Lanzhou, you may only eat one bowl of Lanzhou Ramen. After all, in Xi'an, you will also get one Roujiamo.

So I always think that travel is not for consumption purposes. The cost expenditure must be 1+1>2.

Let’s do a comprehensive calculation:

Meal | The average cost per person is 50/day; if there are ≥ two people, a meal with as little as 200 or 300 will cost.

Accommodation | The average price per person is 30 yuan/day; If ≥ two people , the average hotel price is at least 200 yuan/day.

Transportation | If one person travels, the transportation fee is n yuan; if ≥ two people, the transportation fee will generally be ≥ 2n.

I usually can walk and never take a car, but if you are with another girl, two kilometers away, Lianxiangxiyu has to be called Didi no matter what!

So there is actually a lot of flexibility when it comes to travel expenses. If we exclude shopping consumption, we can choose the full-price air ticket at noon and the discounted air ticket at 11pm, stay in a high-end hotel or a youth hostel, and eat a meal worth 300 yuan. A pie of three pieces will definitely produce a completely different or even doubled price difference in the end.

If you don’t have the skills or savings and still feel it’s embarrassing not to put on a show, you’d better just stay at home and watch the show! You, who are very good, naturally do not belong to the group of people who can benefit from the content of this article; the cheating people who show off their power have no say here.

No jokes! Don't be vain! Don't worry! Those backpackers who live in B&Bs, eat steamed buns, maybe even sleep under bridges and live on the streets, but have seen all the famous mountains and rivers of the motherland, are no less pitiful than you.
