Four of the top ten universities in the world are in the UK, namely the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, University College London and Imperial College London. High-quality education, profound cultural heritage and beautiful scenery attract a large number of international students and tourists.
In the summer vacation of 2014, our family visited the University of Cambridge. In 2016, I went to Oxford University by myself.
Both universities are open campuses with no gates or walls. Each college is perfectly integrated with the town where it is located. It can be said that there is a town in the university and a university in the town.
Picture: Peter College is clean and bright, and I met the gentle and elegant teachers of the college.
The town of Cambridge itself is an English town with approximately 100,000 residents.
According to Lao Wang’s travel guide, several famous attractions in Cambridge University must be checked in, but with our extremely inefficient tour group, Lao Wang had to adjust his schedule again and again.
He reluctantly gave up on Holy Trinity College first, and only took us around for a while, and finally focused on St. John's. However, the gate of St. John's was closed at around 4 o'clock. Lao Wang miraculously found a small door in the bushes and took us into the college.
He took us to visit the law school, led us to walk through the streets of Cambridge, and finally took a 5-minute bus ride to the train station. It made me wonder if he had studied here!
Some people say "Cambridge is delicate, Oxford is powerful".
The University of Cambridge has a beautiful environment. The "River Cam" (River Cam, also translated as "River Cam") meanders through the town of Cambridge. There are many well-designed and beautiful bridges on the river. Taking a boat on the Cam River to visit the University of Cambridge is the most prosperous Poetic. The scenery on both sides of the Taiwan Strait is beautiful and the grass is green. Xu Zhimo's popular "Farewell to Cambridge" also adds a bit of romance to Cambridge.
Goodbye Cambridge
I left quietly,
As I come gently;
I waved gently,
Farewell to the clouds in the western sky.
The golden willows by the river,
Is the bride in the sunset;
The beautiful shadows in the waves,
Flowing in my heart.
Green banana on the soft mud,
Fluffy and swaggering under the water.
In the soft waves of the Cam River,
I am willing to be a waterweed!
That pool under the elm shade,
It’s not a clear spring, it’s a rainbow in the sky;
Crushed among the floating algae,
Precipitating rainbow-like dreams.
Looking for a dream? Hold a long pole,
Walking back to where the grass is greener;
A ship full of stars,
Singing in the starry sky.
But I can't sing,
Quietness is the shengxiao of parting;
The summer insects are also silent for me,
Silence is Cambridge tonight!
I left quietly,
Just as I came quietly;
I waved my sleeves,
Don't take away a single cloud.
After visiting King’s College in the morning, Lao Wang took us to walk to Queen’s College and take a boat from the small pier inside the college. The handsome guy who punted the boat for us was only 21 years old. He was a medical student at King's College and worked part-time on weekends. King's College Medical School has the highest admission score, which really fits the saying: If you can obviously compete for looks, you have to compete for brains. We left a generous tip before disembarking.
Oxford University is the oldest university in the UK. It was founded in 1167. There is a British proverb: "Passing through the city of Oxford is like entering history." In 1209, after the conflict between Oxford students and the townspeople, some Oxford scholars moved to the northeastern town of Cambridge and established the University of Cambridge. Since then, the two universities have been competing with each other for a long time.
Christ Church College of Oxford University has a deep connection with British politics. It served as the temporary capital during the Civil War and produced a total of 16 British Prime Ministers in the past 200 years.
Oxford's architecture is quaint, and here you can see representative buildings from the Gothic, Renaissance, Neo-Gothic, Georgian and Victorian eras.
As soon as you arrive in Oxford, you feel like you have entered the world of Harry Potter. Oxford University is a famous filming location for the movie "Harry Potter". The Christ Church College cafeteria and the Bodleian Library were both filming locations for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

University of Cambridge
The University of Cambridge was founded in 1209, more than 40 years after the University of Oxford. Although it started late, Cambridge has produced the most Nobel Prize winners. This prestigious school has trained scientists such as Newton, Darwin, and Hawking, as well as dozens of Nobel Prize winners.
Cambridge's 31 colleges are located in the streets and alleys of Cambridge town. The first thing we arrived at was Peter's College, which is the oldest college in the University of Cambridge. It was founded in 1284 and is also the first and smallest college in Cambridge.
After being entangled by the beautiful scenery along the way, we finally arrived at the most famous King's College in Cambridge University. The most unmissable thing about King's College is the chapel. Construction was started by Henry VI in 1446 and it took a century to be officially completed.
Queen's College is located to the south of King's College. The college was jointly donated by Henry VI's Queen Margaret in 1448 and Edward IV's Queen Woodville in 1465. Therefore, the Queens in the name of the college refers to these two queens. Queen's College stands across the Cam River and is connected by a digital bridge.

We started from London and took the train to Cambridge University. There were scenery everywhere along the way.
King's College.
The chapel of King's College is an outstanding representative of Gothic architecture, with the largest fan-shaped vault in the world. The twenty-six medieval stained glass windows can be traced back to the 16th century, and are extremely gorgeous. The heraldic details of the crown and Tudor rose on the west door reflect Henry VIII's dream of British hegemony.
While visiting King's College Chapel, my brother fell asleep and Lao Wang kept holding him.
Get out of the chapel and take a walk outside.
In the backyard of King's College, I always felt like I had vaguely seen this scene before somewhere. After thinking about it carefully, I realized it was in the movie "The Sound of Music".
Get ready to take a boat ride on the Cam River.
Cows were also seen in the college.
It is very pleasant to take a small boat to admire Cambridge University on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Flowers are in bloom, people sit leisurely and bask in the sun on the edge of the Jian River, and children are excited about counting ducks and swans.
The second sister walked to the river. The swan thought there was something to eat and swam over immediately. The weeping willows by the Jian River are like the long hair of a beautiful woman.
After landing, we passed from Queen's College through King's College, passed Trinity College and finally came to St John's College. The doorman in front of Trinity College was wearing a white shirt, black trousers and a wide-brimmed hat.

small town.
Bicycles are the main form of transportation here.
Not far away is Merton College, one of the oldest colleges in Oxford University.
Tom's Square is located in the center of the college. The most populous Tom's Bell Tower is one of the largest bells in the UK. It rings 101 times at 9:05 every night, which means that the 101 students at the beginning of the college's establishment cannot go out after the bell rings.
The high stone walls are covered with green vines. Melisa's shoes are definitely a must-have for shopping, you can wear them for a whole day without getting tired.
