Koran Creek is in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, yes, that Toyota...the nearby well-known city is Nagoya.
Taking Nagoya as the starting point, you can choose to take the train to Toyoda City Station or Higashi-Okazaki Station or Hakusa Station, and then transfer to the bus. The required time and fare are written on the map. In terms of time alone, it would be fastest to take the bus to Jomizu Station, then to Toyoda City Station, and then transfer to the bus.
If you are coming from Tokyo, the fastest way is to take the Shinkansen line to Toyobashi, then take the train to Higashi-Okazaki and transfer to the bus.
Additional buses will be opened every year during the maple leaf season. The bus timetable is provided on the official website. There are not many buses. If you want to go to Xianglan Creek, be sure to save the timetable. The timetable is a little different every year. I just took a screenshot of the 2018 timetable. Please go to the official website to find the exact timetable every year.
For me, the route from Kawaguchiko to Korankei was really confusing for a long time. At first, I thought it was the most natural thing to do, take the bus back to Tokyo Station, and take the Shinkansen at Tokyo Station. Take the line to Nagoya , stay near Nagoya station and then go to Korankei. Unexpectedly, I calculated the time based on the timetable and found that it was almost sunset when I arrived at Xianglan Kei, and I had to take the bus back to Tokyo very early. The transfer time in between was too short, only a few minutes. Insurance. I searched and searched for other routes, and finally found this amazing route! Take the 9:20 bus from Kawaguchiko to Mishima station, take the Shinkansen at Mishima station to Toyohashi Station, stay at Toyohashi Station and then go to Koran Kei. The transfer time is very sufficient, and It can be reached at around three o'clock in the afternoon, and it is the earliest way that can be found from Lake Kawaguchi to Xianglan Creek. The summary of traveling by car is that it’s too hard to transfer from shuttle bus to highway bus to Shinkansen line to tram to bus.
Toyohashi Hotel , The hotel in Toyohashi is right in front of Toyohashi Station. The underground street can go directly to the bottom of the building and take the elevator up, which is very convenient. There is an option on jalan that requires check-out before 8 am. It only costs 4,350 yen a night, which can be said to be super cheap. Anyway, I happened to check out early the next day to catch the Shinkansen.
We arrived at around 12 o'clock. I didn't expect that I could check in early and get into the room. The room looked just average, but it was so cheap and I didn't have any requirements.
Throw away your luggage, return to Toyohashi Station and take the train to Higashi-Okazaki Station. The north exit of Higashi-Okazaki Station is the bus station. Go to Korankei and wait for the bus at platform 4. There are buses with "foot assist" on the front, so you don't need to make a reservation in advance. Tickets are the same as ordinary buses. If you want to pay in cash, you get on the bus, get the ticket, and put the ticket and money into the machine at the front of the bus. If you want to pay with a transportation card, you need to swipe your card on the bus.
Sure enough, there were still many people queuing up here waiting for the bus. Fortunately, there was no delay and the bus arrived on time. I arrived half an hour early and didn't sit and wait. I just stood in line and sat down when I was the second one to get on the bus. Those who got on the bus behind me had no space and had to stand all the way. While waiting for the bus, I looked at the map near Xianglan Creek. Sure enough, there was still a traffic jam. When I read the travel notes, I saw that the traffic jam was too exaggerated, so I got off the car a few kilometers early and walked there. It was so scary that I didn’t want to walk a few kilometers. Kilometers ah ah ah
Fortunately, by the time I got there, the traffic on the way out had started to clear up, and the traffic on the way back had started to get congested hahahaha! I saw in travel notes that people who got off the car a few kilometers in advance and walked there were those who went there in the morning, but I didn’t go until around three in the afternoon because people who went in the morning started to return in the afternoon, and those who wanted to see Ye Feng were not there yet. Go early, so this is a rare time when there is not much traffic, so lucky!
The map of the area near Xianglan Creek on the official website is actually quite big. It gets dark very early in November. It’s not enough time for me to come here after three o’clock in the afternoon. I suggest you stay here for half a day to a full day.
