I am a group of little birds,

I want to fly, fly, fly high;

Mom and Dad took me to travel across thousands of mountains and rivers;

Just so that I can have a happy childhood.

Chiang Mai impression:

—Surprises arose out of no expectations;

—Nostalgia arises from not waiting;

—Mental and physical divisions that occur without planning;

—In the absence of goals, new hopes and ideas arise.

Chiang Mai is a very suitable place for family travel;

The most beautiful moments: You run and I chase; you hide and I find; I hide and you catch; you play wantonly and I watch with warmth; you hum a tune to catch insects and tease birds in the field and I listen. Patiently accompany me in the fields with music. This is our time together.

The editor was sorting out the trip to Chiang Mai, and I felt that the excitement was rising again, because I had so much fun with the children in Chiang Mai these past few days, and I turned into a child, teasing elephants and flirting. Tigers, climbing ridges, playing on slides, diving, and being a shepherd boy were so wonderful to play that they had no desire to grow up and no intention of returning home.

Getting back to the topic, the editor will share with you the items divided into food, drink, entertainment, travel, sightseeing, and accommodation.

Funny elephant

There are a lot of elephant camps in Chiang Mai. The elephant camps here are divided into two types. One is where you can ride + watch elephant performances, and the other is an elephant conservation camp. This is the opposite of the previous one. Not only can you not To ride, you still have to play with it, bathe it, and feed it food. As five good young people, we still want to be kind to animals, so we decisively choose the second option.

We chose to go to an elephant camp on the Merlin side (north of Chiang Mai) because we stayed in the "Daoxiang Villa", which belongs to the Merlin area. It takes 40 minutes to drive there and more than an hour if there is a transfer from the ancient city.

Time spent: 3 hours (including lunch) Note: not including travel time

Cost: 250 yuan/person for adults, 200 yuan/person for children (including hotel pick-up and drop-off fees)

Ready to go, put on some clothes first~~

After finishing the set, let’s get to the main topic: Feeding sugar cane.

Elephants are very smart. They don't eat sugar cane one by one. Instead, they hold the sugar cane in our mouths first. They find that they don't want to feed it anymore, and then they start eating. They don't know if their mouth can hold it in one go. How much food?

I saw the tears of an elephant.

My brother asked: Why does Mummy Elephant cry?

I said: Because it cried with joy when it saw us.

I really hope that children can always maintain this kind of simple beauty in their innocent world.

The second project, I played with the elephant in the mud~~

Note: The following content and stories are in the first person of Elephant

I heard that we are going to play mud-throwing game with humans again. I like this, I like it. First act cute~~ and act coquettish.

go to war

The opponent sent out two handsome guys as soon as they came on the field. Is this a beauty trick?

Today I am fully prepared to "take advantage of the situation when the troops come, and cover it up when the water comes". No plan will work.

It's over, it was hit.

Hahaha, actually I did it on purpose.

Hush, you are a good audience if you see through it but don’t tell it!

Humans and I are good friends.

After three hundred rounds of fighting, we both shook hands and made peace.

The mud is too dirty. I have to wash it off quickly. I saw my queen today. I have to dress up and appear in front of her.

Hey, the handsome guys still want to take a shower with me, please hurry up, I'm anxious to see the Queen.

I like taking a shower.

"I love bathing, my skin is good, oh, be careful, there are so many bubbles~~"

Hey, why do you guys ignore me and start the Water Splashing Festival? I don't care about you, I'm going to see the queen~

My queen...your smile is my warmest memory.

tease tiger

The tiger-catching project is probably the most expensive project in Thailand. Here you will find that Thai people are still very business-minded.

There are two mode options here:

1. Flirting with little tigers (60 days), time: about 5 minutes; cost: nearly 600 yuan/person, which is really not cheap, but then I thought about having 5 little tigers, and it is easy to do this kind of thing. Don't ask for it, maybe it's just this once in your life, so you just have to endure the pain. In fact, traveling is an experience. After you have a rich experience, you will be able to face all kinds of problems when you return to real society without any worries.

I'll touch the tiger's butt first to see if it's good or not.

Who said you can't touch a tiger's butt? Not only did I touch the tiger's butt, I also caught the tiger's tail~~

Let’s coax the tiger baby to take a nap together~~.

2. tease the big tiger . The entrance fee to the Tiger Park is about 180 yuan per person. You can visit all the tigers in the park. For this fee, you can also take photos with a certain kind of big tiger. We chose a tiger that was as young as 8 months old. We really didn’t dare to act arrogantly when facing this tiger. We could only approach, take photos, and dodge people cautiously and orderly.

Play golf like baseball

There are many golf courses in Chiang Mai, and the prices are very affordable for Chinese people. I heard from the hostel owner that many Chinese people fly here specially to play golf. A round of 18 holes costs more than 400 yuan (excluding the cost of renting a golf bag). Compared with the thousands in China, it is really cheap.

Looking at such an environment and thinking about the smog in Beijing, my heart feels like a mixed bag. It will take time to verify whether it is worthwhile for us to bring rapid economic growth at the expense of the environment.

In addition to adult golf, children's coaching is also provided for 200 yuan/hour. This kind of luxurious sports has become affordable for ordinary people in Thailand. No wonder the happiness index of Thai people is so high.

Three kids, each with a coach.

It doesn't matter whether we hit the ball well or not. What's important is that we have graceful movements and handsome postures.

Visit the Tiger Poop Paper Factory

Tiger poop paper factory: It sounds very interesting. I thought the factory was very big at the time and planned to spend the whole morning there. But when I arrived, I realized that it only covers an area of less than two acres. With such a small area, there is a constant stream of people going there. Absolutely. This is a good parent-child project. The price is not expensive, and it mainly allows children to gain knowledge and get inspired while playing. This is the most important thing.

Proved again: All products sold are planning and creativity.

This project has explanations, divided into Chinese and English, every half hour.

Step one: Let’s differentiate between various types of poop. In addition to elephant poop, which can be used to make paper, horse poop and cow dung can also be used. Elephant POOPOO is obviously much rougher. The reason is: it eats too much and the intestines are not fully digested, so the POOPOO contains a lot of weeds.

Step 2: Filter POOPOO into water three times, then boil it in a pot for about 8 hours.

Step 3: Combine the cooked POOPOO and your favorite color to make raw materials.

Step 4: Dilute the raw materials in water and spread them evenly on the panel.

Step 5: Place the panel under the sun to dry for six hours, then peel it off from the panel to reveal the complete paper.

Become a farmer

Going to a farm to be a farmer was my earliest plan when I came to Chiang Mai. Although rice is also grown in China, there seems to be no scenic spot that has made it a parent-child project for children to participate in. Or maybe there is, but I am ignorant~~

I also did farm work when I was a child, but it was really not my turn to plant rice and thresh the grains. Now the conditions for children are better than then, but it is also necessary for them to experience the principle of "every grain is hard work".

This farm has created a perfect parent-child program. It is all one-stop. First, explain it, then pick it by yourself, put the color of the picked flowers into rice and then go to work in the field to transplant rice. Then relax on the water mud slide, which takes most of the day. Just spend it happily.

The first item: change clothes first and go to the fields to pick.

The ones picked here are Phalaenopsis. Can you guess what we are going to do?

Item 2: Crush the picked Phalaenopsis in water so that all the colors of the flowers are blended into the water, and pour the water into the rice to start making colored rice.

Put the Phalaenopsis into the water and crush it

Bringing colored water into the rice

Item 3: Working in the fields: transplanting rice seedlings

Hardworking bee
A handyman at work

Good brothers for life

Item 4: Water mud slide

When asked about their favorite project at the end of all the trips, the children unanimously chose this project. Even if they accidentally fall into the pond and get muddy all over, it can't stop the children's playful nature.

wonderful moments

Summer

Sunshine

Item 5 : Show results. Phalaenopsis, which looks purple to the naked eye, turns blue when blended into water, and blue organic rice is also cooked.

Because they have the fruits of their own labor, the children enjoyed this delicious meal~~~!

Free time—a haystack becomes a new base.

Brothers go into battle together, plot: hay burying the living , hahaha~~

Son, you must know how to be compassionate and cherish the jade, otherwise be careful not to have a wife in the future...

In addition to the haystacks, there are also swings.

The breeze was blowing, and I already felt drowsy, but the children became more and more excited as they played. I have to lament that time has made us grow old, and we can't resist time after all.

Entered the palace once

Note: This paragraph is written in the first person as Lele’s child.

My mom is really interesting. She just let me become a farmer in the morning, and in the afternoon she couldn’t wait to take me to the palace. Now I am a second-generation farmer, and now I am a second-generation emperor. It makes me really dizzy. I don’t care who the second generation is, I am who I am, whatever my mother is like, I am what I am like, I just want to play to my heart’s content.

Look at the palace I entered

I don't know how the other facilities at the Palace Hotel are, but this swimming pool is to my liking.

Look at my high diving

future michelin chef

Why is Chiang Mai very suitable for parents and children? In addition to playing with children, many projects allow children to do it themselves. Look, now I’m learning to cook again. In half a day, I go to the vegetable market from 8 o’clock in the morning to pick and buy vegetables, come back to wash, cut and stir-fry vegetables; and finally enjoy a Michelin-starred meal made by myself. It makes you excited just thinking about it, doesn’t it? It's a pity that the editor didn't experience it. I really don't have time, so I will miss it if I have some regrets, right? Looking forward to next time~~

I would like to thank "VIVI Beauty from Shanghai" for providing the photos.

live

Regarding accommodation in Chiang Mai, the prices are completely different, ranging from tens of thousands to dozens of yuan. It mainly depends on what kind of vegetables we "radish people" like.

The "carrot" of the editor still follows the old rules, only focusing on living and not paying much attention to eating. The two I chose this time are really satisfying to the editor.

1
Daoxiang Villa

Features: Detached villas in the B&B, handsome bosses, beautiful proprietresses, oversized swimming pools, unparalleled views, and 360-degree attentive service throughout the entire process. We must give credit to the boss for having such a great time this time.

When we first booked this room, we were very hesitant because we only needed three rooms, but the boss wanted to rent out a separate building (the villa has 5 rooms). Later, I was really tempted by the scenery in the photos, so I reluctantly booked it. I am also glad that I was cruel. When I arrived at the villa, I found that the scenery in the photo was only three or four-tenths of the actual scenery.

In addition to sweeping views of wheat fields, this room also overlooks a sparkling swimming pool with pink swans floating above it.

There is also a room facing the swimming pool.

During the day, you can sit on the balcony, drink tea, and patiently accompany the children playing in the water. At night, you can hold a glass of red wine, count the stars in the sky, and miss the people you want to see far away.

In a word: life is not only a mirror, you smile at it, it smiles at you; all the flavors in life can be made by yourself, whether it is sweet or sour, it all depends on your own state of mind.

The other two are suites and there is one downstairs. There are five rooms in total.

Note: The owner of this B&B is very talented and once worked in New Zealand. Speaks four languages. Chinese, English, Thai, Cantonese. Before going to Chiang Mai, I told him my ideas and asked him to help. Finally, he helped us realize our ideas one by one. Including booking cars, booking tickets, and booking restaurants.

Contact information : wildtramp (Alex), if you mention "Duole Family Tour", there will be a discount!

2 Dhara Devi Resort Chiang Mai

This hotel ranks among the top three hotels in Chiang Mai.

There are also "Four Seasons" and "Anantara". Anantara is next to the ancient city, and the Four Seasons is in the north of the city. This hotel is northwest of the city center, about 4 kilometers away from the city center.

I haven't stayed at the other two hotels, but this one is the most satisfying I've stayed at so far. The hotel itself was converted from a royal palace. It consists of 54 luxurious suites and 64 independent villas, perfectly retaining the classic colonial aristocratic style and the temperament of the Lanna Dynasty.

Look at the hotel environment!

I can attest to this hotel service. I woke up early and ran 5 kilometers. My running legs were fine but my neck almost hurt. Every employee I met on the road put his hands together and said to me, "Swipe all your cards." I had to reply, "Swipe all your cards, too." Don't just swipe my card. You can also swipe yours when you come to China. It’s a card~~~.

Note: The homophonic pronunciation of "Good morning" in Thai is "swipe your cards".

Single-family villa appearance. It is divided into two floors. The lower floor is a reception room with a piano (this is my first time staying in a hotel room with a piano). The second floor is the bedroom, then there is a large cloakroom, a large terrace outside the wash basin. There is also a large bathtub outside the large terrace. (Just keep it simple, otherwise you’ll want to go again.)

eat

Here I can finally say: It’s so cheap to go to Chiang Mai….

Several restaurants recommended by the B&B owner are very popular with the editor. The price is affordable, the environment is beautiful, and the taste doesn't seem bad. What I eat depends on the environment and my mood when I eat. The taste is adjusted according to the environment and mood.

After playing with the elephants on the first day, everyone was completely hungry. But it only cost more than 200 yuan for seven people. The green curry was so delicious that I ordered two portions, and there were also crabs. Please give me an idea of how cheap it is. (Of course, visitors to this restaurant will definitely not know this.)

I didn’t take pictures of the dishes, so just eat one and take a look at the environment and use your imagination!

OK

There are many cities in China that take off from Chiang Mai, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Changsha, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing and Kunming. It mainly depends on when you go, whether it is more cost-effective to connect flights or direct flights.

This time we are transferring in Kunming, and the round trip to Beijing is only about 4,000 yuan. At that time, the price for a direct round-trip flight from Beijing seemed to be more than 6,000 per person.

Direct flights from Chongqing cost more than 4,000 per person.

A friend from Changsha wants to go there during the Qingming Festival, but he found out that the round-trip air ticket is only 1,200 yuan per person. So I can only provide some information here.

Friendly reminder: Kunming transfer baggage cannot be checked directly and needs to be picked up and checked again.

Achievements display

Children can always bring us different surprises, and this surprise is the power that constantly inspires us to be good parents.

At this point, I can only let the main text come to an end. In fact, we also went to Internet celebrity cafes, Chiang Mai University, and the Night Zoo. But if you really want to write it, you will need to increase the amount by at least a quarter. There is so much content that I’m afraid everyone will be tired from reading it.
