Zhong Shu Pavilion

We took the subway from Dongqian Lake into Ningbo City. It rained all day, so our outdoor wandering plan was shelved. We rested in the hotel until evening. Visiting Zhongshuge on a rainy night, I was overwhelmed by the endless sea of books.

I am a fabric bag lover, so I customized the bag with my own paintings, so it doesn’t feel out of place if I put it here.

Ningbo Museum

Ningbo Museum is the first Chinese winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize Wang Shu The professor's representative work, the architectural design advocates the concept of "new localism", integrating Ningbo's regional cultural characteristics, traditional architectural elements and modern architectural forms. It conveys solemn historical information while being extremely modern, fully demonstrating that the building itself is also a special "cultural relic" and "exhibit".

As early as the year when Professor Wang Shu won the international award, I started planting seeds for the Ningbo Museum. When I accompanied my father to Hangzhou in 2014, I first went to the Xiangshan Campus of the China Academy of Art and was deeply impressed by the buildings designed by Wang Shu there.

Silk Road Without Borders: From the Mediterranean to China - Exhibition of Cultural Relics at Ikuo Hirayama Silk Road Museum, Japan

This exhibition brings together the cultural relics and treasures of the civilized countries along the Silk Road collected by the Japanese artist Mr. Hirayama Ikuo. It shows the famous ancient civilizations in the Mediterranean region to the west of China, the Mesopotamia and Iran in West Asia, and Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India in Central Asia. The past glory reflects the characteristics of culture, art, religion, crafts and even customs and folk customs in the above-mentioned regions, as well as the exchange, integration and mutual learning of these civilizations.

The exhibits include a total of 192 sets, covering ancient Greek painted pottery, ancient Roman and Persian glassware, gold and silverware, Gandhara Buddhist art, Silk Road gold and silver coins, Central Asian brocades, and Indian Buddhist statues, as well as some of Ikuo Hirayama's Dunhuang works. Sketching works.

I am really lucky to be able to see so many exquisite cultural relics from ancient civilizations in China.

The rooftop of the museum is suitable for viewing, and there is a cafe where you can take a rest.

Another interesting exhibition is this "Time Cantabile".

It suddenly opens the floodgates of our memories and turns back time.

I remember when I was in middle school, there was only one piano in the school, but there were many pedal organs like this. We usually practice on the organ. I often play pranks by using the organ to play the tune of "The Devil Enters the Village" or Mendelssohn's "Wedding March"...the timbre effect is just right.

My love for music comes from my parents, and I grew up listening to these records they bought. The most popular pop music at that time came from "South Zhu and North Li". South was Zhu Fengbo from Shanghai, and Li was Li Guyi who is still active today.

Does this look like your childhood home? I can guarantee that most people of the same age will find shadows of their past lives in it.

The most locally representative exhibits in the Ningbo Museum are these Yue kiln porcelains.

At noon that day, I ate authentic Ningbo cuisine at the Old Ningbo Alley Restaurant.

Take the subway to Ashoka Temple. As long as the subway in Ningbo is not during rush hours, you can go there.

It's basically empty, making travel convenient and comfortable.

Ashoka Temple

Ashoka Temple is located in Yinzhou District, Ningbo City Wuxiang Town at the foot of Huading Mountain in Baozhuang Taibai Mountain. It was built in the third year of Taikang (AD 282), Emperor Wu of the Western Jin Dynasty After more than 1,700 years of history.
Ashoka Temple is known as the "Southeast Buddhist Country". It is a famous Zen Buddhist temple and the "fifth among the five mountains" of Chinese Buddhism. It is also the only existing thousand-year-old temple in China named after the Indian King Ashoka . The temple is famous both at home and abroad for its collection of the Buddhist treasure Sakyamuni's true body relics and the exquisite relic pagoda .

Walking into the unattended gate of Ashoka Temple, a quiet landscape appears in front of you, with dark green moss, dark brown ancient trees, bright yellow ancient pagodas, and a huge stone in the green pond, with a bird standing on it and a turtle lying on it. I was surprised to guess that this is what the ancient courtyard temple looked like more than a thousand years ago. At that moment, my heart felt particularly peaceful, comfortable and empty. There seemed to be a Buddha's figure in the moist air after the rain. We sat face to face. Buddha and I didn't ask for anything from each other. We just smiled and talked softly.

When awareness and conduct are complete, you not only understand it, but also do it. If you do it, you will be perfect .

It was raining before going out that day, so I didn’t make it clear that I wanted to go to Ashoka Temple. Sister Gong wore a pair of slippers. As soon as she entered the temple, she took off her shoes and walked barefoot, completely ignoring that the stone floor was wet, slippery, hard and cold after the rain. Perhaps the Buddha sensed her piety. The main hall where Sakyamuni's true body relics were originally closed at 4 o'clock. We arrived several minutes late, but the master there did not leave. When he saw us arriving, he asked us to press the button. The rule is to go to another temple to register and open a note before you can enter the relic hall. We immediately obeyed, and the master who drew the note said that he was originally required to recite the Heart Sutra before issuing the note, but now he is exempted from it. Entering the relic hall, a solemn energy enveloped us. Although I am not a believer, I couldn't help but tiptoe. I was afraid that the dirt on my body would fall into the temple. I silently raised my head and looked up at the holy tower, as if looking up at the bright moon in the sky. .

That was the happiest day of our trip. The meaning we strive for in travel and life, the meaning of life and the world, shows its face. Although the world has become more and more utilitarian and impetuous, with nihilistic beliefs, there are always people who are born attracted by meaning, there are always people who seek the meaning of life, and ancient values are still green in the hearts of some people. These people are no different from ordinary people, but they are travelers who can't help but set off all the time. Those tiring but joyful journeys bring them close to the moments they long for. Through these God-given moments, they are able to connect with a person. A meaningful world encounter.
