After camping for one night at the parking lot of Tengger Jinsha Island Scenic Area the night before, we set off again in the morning and went to Sikouzi for a walk~
Sikouzi Scenic Area is located in the southeast of Zhongwei City, Ningxia, 50 kilometers away from Zhongwei City. It is currently an AAAA-level scenic spot.
Sikouzi Scenic Area is divided into two areas: the east area focuses on natural scenery, and the west area focuses on cultural and historical scenery. Tickets for each zone are 40 yuan. The distance to the west zone is longer and there are more charges.
When we arrived, Sikouzi was only open for half of the east district, and the ticket price was 40 yuan.
Enter the scenic spot
The first scenic spot we encountered was called the Right Footprint of the Immortal. There is also the left footprint of the immortal behind, but we couldn’t find it after searching around. I wonder if the footprints have been weathered for too long~
Start entering the deep canyon
It’s already very difficult for drones to lead the way
Because there is a ray of sky ahead
The upward iron ladder in the canyon
The ladders in some places are already close to 90 degrees, and some people's legs have gone weak
Survive in the cracks
The acrophobic man put on his hat and continued climbing
You can see how steep the iron ladder is
The canyon here is a structure that has both upper and lower levels. The upper level is still a canyon. The entire scenic area has well preserved the original style of the canyon.
We walked and watched for about 40 minutes before reaching the final point we can reach - the Temple of Wealth. Because the scenic area in front is under renovation, we can only stop here and overlook the Grand Canyon.
Sikouzi was called Beihai in ancient times. To the south is the Fragrant Mountain, with its many peaks and dangerous mountain passes. In ancient times, it was the choke point for Guyuan, Pingliang, Xi'an and other places; to the north is the Weining Plain, with a large river flowing through it, covering an area of tens of thousands of acres, and the scenery south of the Yangtze River is boundless; looking to the east, Yinchuan City, the ancient capital of Xixia; to the west is the tourist resort Shapotou.
Historically, Sikouzi became a battleground for military strategists because of its geographical location as the gateway to Yinnan and the barrier to Weining.

After taking a rest at the God of Wealth Temple, we started going down the mountain. Only then did we realize that it is easier to go up the mountain than it is to go down the mountain.
Take a final look at the Grand Canyon
The little bird bid us farewell and we look forward to seeing you next time the scenic spot is fully open.
After leaving Sikouzi, we set off towards Yinchuan. After walking for so long, we seemed to have run out of delicious food. Next time we will talk about what kind of delicious food we encountered in Yinchuan~
Due to the closure of part of the scenic area, although we did not see the history of Sikouzi with our own eyes this time, we also learned some of it from the mouths of local people, such as: the touching deeds of Su Wu, a famous official in the Western Han Dynasty, who shepherded sheep here for nineteen years, and Yang Yang of the Song Dynasty. Stories about family generals, etc. In short, whether you want to see the scenery or history, Tikouchi is a good choice!
