Many people who entertain relatives and friends will invite them to visit Pozi Street and the Fire Palace.
When you go to a place, it’s not just about the food and culture, but you also have to take photos, and you also have to tell some stories about the culture and history of the place. Doesn’t it make you more knowledgeable? Changsha, Hunan, is a city with stories.
So today’s story starts with from the Fire Palace!
When I went to Beijing in the past, when I stopped in Changsha, I would go to the Fire Palace to visit or eat the snacks there.

fire palace

This has always been my memory. I went there several times later. Sometimes when I invite friends, I go there to taste the taste of Changsha.
When I first learned about the Fire Palace, I learned about it from the novel "Zeng Guofan" written by Tang Haoming. One of them is "The Palace on Fire".
The story tells about the fight between Xiangyong Taqibu, Bao Chao, Teng Raoshu and the Zhenyu soldiers. The Zhenjun soldiers, I learned at the front end, should be the Zhenyu soldiers in western Hunan. The Jin soldiers, but they belong to the green camp soldiers.
The Jin soldiers are soldiers with more history. It is said that they were an elite soldier of Marshal Qi, Qi Jiguang in the Ming Dynasty. This is the importance of leadership.
There are many historical stories about the Fire Palace. The Wenxi Fire in Changsha in 1938 was the most devastating city in World War II. It's a pity that many of the stories are due to the fire and there are no written records.
The Wenxi Fire, why is it called the Wenxi Fire? There was just one word on the telegram at that time.
The next day the media reported that the Wenxi fire occurred. This also has something to do with Chiang Kai-shek.
Naturally, the Fire Palace was rebuilt after the fire.
There are very few historical sites in Changsha that we see now.
To get back to the truth, let’s continue talking about Zeng Guofan. After this big fire in the palace, the conflict between Xiangyong and Luying has become increasingly intensified.

Xiang Yong’s first turning point
It was also Zeng Guofan who wanted Xiang Yong not to get into the bad habits of many soldiers and gangsters at the beginning. Because Xiang Yong has trained a soldier who can fight tough battles, starting from the source of troops.
Soldiers who have served in the green camp cannot join Cheng Xiangyong.
The simplest detail is that when they recruit soldiers, they must have calluses on their hands, those who have done heavy work and manual labor.
All we have is a team with ideas and beliefs.
Select scholars to lead farmers. The generals of the selected team are all scholars and educated young people. The soldiers are all local farmers, and they are mountain farmers, that is, farmers in the mountains. Such mountain farmers can endure hardship and endure hard work.
It was actually confirmed later.
After the palace was set on fire, Zeng Guofan, after careful consideration, walked out of Changsha and went to Hengyang to train his troops.
This is also the most important turning point in Xiangyong's military training.
This is an important step for the entire Xiangyong. Without training in Hengyang, the water and land teams initially numbered more than 15,000 people. Especially the naval camp, this also established immortal achievements for the future recovery of Tianjing.
The Fire Palace was also very lively at that time, with entertainers, jugglers, storytellers, and many specialties.
The Wang family’s sister dumplings, the Xiao family’s stinky dried tofu, the Xie family’s braised pig’s trotters, and the price-priced fairy bowl rice. For those who visit the Fire Palace, if they don’t eat these things, their visit to the Fire Palace will not be complete.
Nowadays, many marketing stories, no matter what, do not reach Changsha.
I probably came up with the idea after reading Teacher Tang’s book.
