I wonder how everyone enjoyed the last bookstore promotion?
In this issue, please join me to unlock the most worth visiting museums and memorial halls in Wuhan.
You should be able to find a new place to go on a boring weekend.
To understand a city, you should first go to a museum.
This is also one of my principles when traveling. No matter how tight the schedule is, local museums cannot be left out. As a "atypical tourist city" , Wuhan often makes the native Wuhaners feel embarrassed like this. :
“I’m going to Wuhan in a few days. Can you recommend some interesting places? ”
——Friends from out of town sent inquiries
"Uh... that's fun, let me think about it"
"Uh... uh... Yellow Crane Tower? "
“I’ve never been there myself even when I’ve been growing up.”
"What else, emmm, let's go to Moshan..."
——The distress of Wuhan people
In fact, there are still many places worth checking out in Wuhan. Let’s start with the museums.

☞Opening hours: 9:00-17:00 (closed on Mondays, admission stops at 15:30)
A must-do when visiting Han, is the famous museum . During peak tourist seasons (such as long holidays, National Day, winter and summer vacations, etc.), you may even have to queue up to enter. The treasures of the museum are Zenghou Yi Chime and The Sword of Yue King Goujian.
The first time I saw chime bells was when I was still relatively young, and I also watched a chime bell performance. It was really nice and shocking. Although the bells used in the performance are modern replicas, the dull and long sound seems to transport you back to the Warring States Period. The high-scoring variety show "National Treasure" talks about Hubei Province's PhD, and also talks about it in detail~ If you haven't seen it, you can check it out.
In addition to the treasures of the museum, the Provincial Museum often has some Temporary Exhibitions , and do some exchange exhibition activities with other museums. This kind of temporary exhibition is also my favorite part!
For example, the previous exhibitions on ancient Egypt and Pharaohs were very good! Pretending to be abroad series:
☞Specific address: No. 373 Qingnian Road, Jianghan District (near Hankou Railway Station)
☞Opening hours: 9:00-17:00 (tickets close at 16:30, admission closed on Fridays)
Compared with the provincial exam, the city exam is slightly weaker. But as a municipal museum, you can still go and take a look. After allthe transportation is very convenient. It is right next to Hankou Station and can be reached on foot. If you are passing by and waiting for the train to leave, you might as well go in and have a look.
The exhibition halls are mainly divided into ancient and modern times, mainly displaying some ceramics, bronzes, etc. Wuhan, as the central city connecting nine provinces, is the largest transportation hub in the central region. It occupies an important position both in history and today. Although the museum is not big and even a bit old, it is still worth a visit.
There are also some temporary special exhibitions from time to time, most of which are exchange exhibitions with other cities. In fact, they are quite good. Rounding them off, it means that I have been to other museums.
☞Specific address: South District of Qintai Steel Market, Bank of Moon Lake, Hanyang
☞Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday 9:00-17:00
Friends who are familiar with modern history all know that Zhang Zhidong’s significance to modern Chinese history and Wuhan will not be repeated here. If you want to know more and are interested, it is strongly recommended to go to the museum to learn and experience it in person.
This museum is located next to the original Hanyang Iron Works, and it is relatively convenient to drive there. The design of the venue is very modern, but it also incorporates many historical elements , such as rails, station names, etc. Previously, this museum was quite popular on Dianping and a certain red book, and was called Internet Celebrity Museum. But aside from the stunning venue design, its content is more worth visiting and learning.
I like this wall the most. Not only does it look good, but more importantly, I really feel that "People should read more". Looking at Zhang Zhidong's book list, it can be considered a wide range of topics. Still quite shocking. There is also a reading area around this wall, where you can sit down and read books as you like.
It can be said that Zhang Zhidong Museum is among the top three favorite museums in Wuhan. Please be sure to check in. However, you need to pay more attention to their official WeChat account, because they occasionally close from time to time, so don’t be disappointed.
☞Specific address: Inside Jianghanguan Building
☞Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday 9:00-17:00
It is also a museum that has only been opened in recent years. When I went there for the first time, I was amazed that I could actually enter Jianghan Pass after seeing it for so many years! The entire exhibits and displays in the museum are centered around the theme of customs business. It restores the original appearance of the interior of Jianghan Pass at that time, which is quite interesting!
Taking Wuhan's urban modernization as a clue, it displays in detail Wuhan's urban history, concession history, customs history and so on. I think it is a very unique one among the museums.
In addition to the perfectly displayed and restored Jianghanguan Building in the exhibition hall, another surprising thing is that there is a small platform above where you can go out. You can see the bell tower when you look up, and you can also take pictures under the bell tower.
☞Specific address: Shouyi Square, Yuemachang, Wuchang District
☞Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday 9:00-17:00
The 1911 Revolution Museum, located in Shouyi Square, was built for the 100th anniversary of Shouyi in Wuchang. This area can be regarded as a historical, educational and cultural area. Next to it are the former site of the Wuchang Uprising Military Government (Red Building), the bronze statue of Sun Yat-sen, the Huang Xing General Visitor Platform, etc. We can go shopping together.
Including the underground floor, the museum has a total of 4 floors, which is still very large. The scene restoration, the atmosphere design, and the display of exhibits are all very good , whether you are here to learn history or just for fun. You can gain something by visiting a scenic spot, or even just to escape the summer heat when you are bored on the weekend.
The chaos and humiliation of the past, the blood and tears sealed in history , have created today's social prosperity and people's livelihood stability. I think today, young people should also learn more about history and not forget history, so that they can cherish the life they have now and be more positive and optimistic in pursuit of their ideals.
☞Specific address: Near Panlongcheng Station of Metro Line 2
☞Opening time: Please pay attention to the official WeChat account
Apart from the fact that it is a bit far away and the surrounding areas are still under construction, parking is not very convenient. It is recommended to take the subway , but there is nothing wrong with it. As a national archaeological site park, Panlongcheng Museum is somewhat different from other museums. In addition to indoor exhibition halls, the exhibition hall also has a heritage protection zone.
When I went there, there was "Pompei: Moment and Eternity" special exhibition, which was really awesome. (When I mentioned Pompeii, I remembered an article in New Concept English... Impressive), but unfortunately it was a temporary exhibition and is no longer available.
However, in addition to the special exhibitions, the permanent exhibition hall is also worth a visit. The exhibition area is well designed. In addition to the basic display of exhibits, it also describes the archaeological process in detail. In addition to experiencing the changes of Panlong City, you can also understand Gained a lot of archaeological knowledge !
Note: Due to the newly opened exhibition hall and surrounding road construction, it may be closed from time to time. Remember to check the opening information in their article before going.
☞Specific address: Art Exhibition Hall on the first floor of Qintai Grand Theater
☞Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday: 09:00-17:00
I found out about this museum by chance. I was listening to the radio while driving, and happened to be doing a ticket giveaway event. After leaving a message on the program article, I was chosen and sent two tickets to the Piano Museum. Only then did I know that there is such a museum here at the Qintai Grand Theater.
Although it requires tickets (which are actually not expensive), I think it’s quite worth it. Maybe it’s because I was once a Level 10 piano player, so I was very interested in the exhibits—all kinds of old, high-end, and luxurious pianos.
The treasure of the museum is the Steinway nine-foot gold concert grand piano, produced in 1865. The Steinway Piano Company has only produced five gold pianos in its history, and the piano table museum one is the largest among them . And it has been restored, and can fully play (of course tourists are not allowed to touch this machine, but it looks very impressive after looking at it).
The golden piano is the one above. Although we can’t touch this one, some of the exhibits can be played! It was really interesting to walk around. The whole exhibition hall is not big, but there are quite a few pianos.
☞Specific address: No. 20, Dufudi, Wuchang (near Simen Gate)
☞Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday: 09:00-17:00
The site of the Fifth Congress, the former site of the Agricultural School, and Chairman Mao’s former residence are all in this area. . The first time I went there was when I was in high school at the Provincial Experimental School, in my second year of high school studying agriculture. Because the bus hadn’t arrived yet, our entire class went to visit the Agricultural Institute (and took many photos…) and all of a sudden the memories of my youth came back to me.
At that time, I was not very familiar with these and did not visit the displays carefully. I will find time to take a closer look recently. This old site is very close to Simenkou and Hubu Lane . If friends from out of town are interested, you can stop by after visiting Hubu Alley.
I think the big lawn at the entrance is quite nice. It is said that some people come here to take wedding photos... Although the bluestone road was newly built in the later period, it still looks very old-fashioned.
☞Specific address: No. 139, Poyang Street, Jiang'an District (Jinli Huangpi Road Pedestrian Street)
☞Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday: 09:00-17:00
In fact, the place is not difficult to find. It is right here on Lihuangpi Road. After visiting the old literary and artistic district, you might as well come and visit the memorial hall. The style of the house remains as it is. For those who like studying architecture like me, it is quite interesting to see the exterior and interior design.
What the interior looks like. It still makes me feel like I have traveled back to that era. In fact, when I visited these museums, I discovered that the most annoying history subject in high school has become interesting. Sure enough, the best results are achieved by learning through experience.
So, even if you don’t have much interest in this kind of history museum at first glance, don’t be completely opposed to it. Just stop by and take a look, maybe you can get a little something out of it? Anyway, free time on weekends is free time, right?
That’s it for today’s museum sharing. It’s also written very seriously. If it’s helpful, don’t forget to forward it, like it and leave a message for interaction.
