I have longed for a free trip to Taiwan. Maybe it was influenced by Taiwanese dramas when I was a student, maybe it was because I listened to too many songs by Mayday, Jay Chou, and SHE, or maybe I was influenced by Japanese photos after I started taking photos. I think those who have always longed for Taiwan are the same as me. The stories of youth are more or less related to Taiwan. The books I’ve read, the music I’ve listened to, the stars I’ve liked, the movies I’ve watched, because of these memories that can be evoked, the scenery I’ve walked through is not just scenery, but an emotional resonance, and travel has its meaning. meaning.

For me, this is not a trip that I can "just go". I struggled with it for a long time before the trip, because considering that this is a solo trip, the first thing to consider is safety. Secondly, It’s the transportation problem, and finally the food and accommodation problem. Fortunately, I am also a somewhat experienced traveler, so I can basically take into consideration all the big issues that should be taken into consideration. As for the travel itinerary, I first determined the main places I wanted to visit and then combined them with the map of Taiwan.

From the map, Taiwan is not that big. It is mainly composed of Taipei, Taichung, Tainan and Taitung. Looking at guides online, they basically give clockwise or counterclockwise ways to travel around the island. Since I wanted to go back to Shanghai from Macau before going, I chose to travel clockwise, and then go directly from Taitung. It's closer to Kaohsiung than to Macau, so I didn't have to worry too much.

Since this is my first time to go to Taiwan, and also my first time traveling alone for such a long time, I have been preparing for it for a while! Next, I will share with you my personal travel strategies and travel notes!

01

About entry and exit documents

What is necessary to go to Taiwan is "Two Permits and One Endorsement", that is, the Taiwan Travel Permit for Mainland Residents, the Taiwan Entry Permit, and the Taiwan Travel Permit for Mainland Residents. These must be within the validity period.

The pass and endorsement can be applied for at the local entry-exit center. It is more convenient and only requires a personal ID card. The validity period seems to be 5 years. I applied for the pass relatively early, so it was this type. Nowadays, most of them are card type. Card type can be self-signed on the machine. are shown in the figure below.

In addition, the most important thing is the Taiwan Entry Permit. The Taiwan Entry Permit is usually obtained through online or offline travel agencies. I chose an online travel agency and found it on a certain website. The first one I found at the time asked for it. The price was increased and it was expedited. Later, I found another company and the process was completed smoothly.

Here I need to remind that it is best to apply for the Taiwan Entry Permit one month in advance to prevent problems with the material review and to avoid the travel agency asking for a price increase due to time constraints.

The travel agency will send you a list of materials required for applying for a Taiwan Entry Permit (the main ones include scanned copies of ID cards and passes, recent registration photos, international credit card gold or platinum cards, etc.). Prepare them according to the material template and submit it in the designated way. Can.

The Taiwan Entry Permit and insurance policy given by the travel agency are usually electronic, so you can just print them out yourself. When printing the boarding pass, you will be asked to show your Taiwan entry permit and pass, and the round-trip air ticket order information will also be checked to ensure that the length of stay is legal. One more reminder, when traveling, it is best to carry your ID with you in case you need it temporarily (such as tax refund for shopping).

02

About air tickets and luggage

Take off and landing

As for air tickets, it is best to buy all the round-trip air tickets in advance, because when checking in at the airport, you may need to check the round-trip air ticket order (my understanding is to ensure that the stay is within 15 days). If you plan to go shopping, it’s best to pay attention to the free baggage allowance and specific suitcase size requirements, because the checked baggage allowance at the airport is really expensive. I remember that when I flew from Kaohsiung to Macau, my luggage allowance was not enough (it was a few kilograms over). The minimum purchase price is 15kg, which is a heartache!

Before going, it is best to check the weather in various regions of Taiwan, because many popular tourist attractions in Taiwan are in cities close to the sea, and the climate is hot and humid and changeable, so bring the necessary clothing and clothing according to the weather. Protective equipment is better. Here is a reminder. You can bring some medicines to prevent colds and diarrhea in case you are not acclimated to the soil. In addition, based on my personal experience, it is also recommended to bring some medicines to prevent insect bites, because when staying in Kenting That night I was almost carried away by mosquitoes. When I woke up in the morning, there were more than 30 mosquito bites on my hands and feet. It took about 20 days to disappear after I came back. I was really scared!

03

About Maps app and network

I think many people have to rely on maps when going out. Anyway, I am like this, otherwise I will be really confused when I go to a strange place, hahaha! Real-time map positioning is really important for people traveling alone.

Before I went there, I thought Google Maps would be very convenient. However, when I arrived at the Taiwan airport and was about to go through customs, I found that Google Maps on my phone couldn’t be used ( Probably because I used a Mainland China mobile phone sim card instead of a Taiwanese one). Because of the phone card), I panicked instantly because Amap was not easy to use there. Later, I was glad that Baidu Maps and Apple Mobile Maps could still be used. Note that in mainland China, it is basically impossible to search for specific locations in Taiwan using these apps. Just go there.

As for the Internet, I previously considered buying a Taiwan phone card with a data plan. Later, because I was worried that my relatives and friends would not be able to contact me on the phone, I considered buying a ten-day portable Wi-Fi from a treasure store, but I learned that the portable Wi-Fi would be interrupted. The problem of unstable electricity and network was given up. Finally, I chose to open a 10-day roaming package for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan traffic . It is quite convenient to use and the network is pretty fast. When you turn on your phone and turn on roaming and network, it will automatically search for local network operators and connected. In addition , you can download an exchange rate conversion software, which will make shopping much more convenient!

04

About cash and credit cards

I exchanged more than NT$6,000 at Taipei Airport (you can also exchange it at the bank before going, or go to the 711 there), and it was enough for 8 days. But later I discovered that many stores in Taiwan support Alipay or WeChat Pay. In addition, I also brought UnionPay and Visa credit cards. Most shopping malls support both credit cards. In some places, the exchange rate for credit cards is quite cost-effective.

It is recommended to prepare some cash, so it is very convenient to buy food and drink, top up your metro card, buy train tickets, etc. hahaha. It really doesn’t hurt to spend the New Taiwan dollars. One hundred dollars can be spent at the same speed as ten dollars. Don’t feel too good about this kind of “squandering”, hahaha.

05

About accommodation and transportation

As far as my personal habits are concerned, I usually book a place to stay before traveling, so that I can have a sense of purpose and not panic when I arrive in a strange place. Maybe this is my "home" Make sense! Based on the travel itinerary I made earlier, I determined which city and place I would stay in for how long, and then selected the accommodation location according to this plan. All of my accommodation for 8 days and 7 nights was completed at one time!

Except for the lucky one who was lucky enough to stay in Taiwan for free for one night before going, all the other accommodations were in Airbnb ( Note These platforms also have risks now. Be careful to check) the B&B or hostel booked above! There are also some other short-term accommodation booking platforms. If necessary, you can check them out yourself!

Here is a reminder , try to find a place with convenient transportation and a more prosperous area, and then remember to add the landlord's WeChat and leave a contact number, and write down the detailed address of the accommodation in advance, because many B&Bs or youth hostels now check in by yourself Yes, the boss will not show up, so it is really necessary to exchange contact information.

I think transportation in Taiwan is quite convenient. MRT, buses, high-speed rail, ordinary trains, etc. are all very convenient. Before I went there, I bought an Easy Card (similar to our bus card, similar to the Hong Kong Octopus). Almost), it can be used for all kinds of public transportation. In addition, it can also be used to buy train tickets and shopping at some convenience stores. It can also be used to take the Maokong cable car and the cruise ship at Fisherman's Wharf.

Due to concerns about Taipei to Ruifang as well as Trains from Ruifang to Hualien Tickets were not available (for popular destinations, you should buy them in advance), so I booked them in advance on Ctrip. The price is a bit more expensive than at the train station. To pick up the ticket, you can go directly to the station window to pick it up manually. As for entering the station, it is better to ask more questions, because you may not understand the platform and train information.

As a reminder , taxis in Taiwan are far less convenient than Didi taxis or roadside taxis here. Anyway, I only took a taxi once, and it took me more than half an hour (woo woo ~ uncomfortable), I Dial 55688 to call "Taiwan Fleet" to find someone to help dispatch the car (you need to provide the detailed pick-up address). However, there seems to be a taxi-hailing software similar to Didi. Friends in need can learn more about it on their own.

Okay, now that the long-winded part is basically finished (if there is anything else you want to know or feel the writing is not clear, you can send me a private message), then let’s start the real travelogue part!!!

2.25–2.27 Come to Taipei to watch the rain in winter

DAY1: Fly from Pudong Airport to Taipei Taoyuan International Airport, Jinri University, Tamkang Middle School, Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf, Tamsui Old Street, Shilin Night Market

Because I knew that there would be long queues for printing boarding passes, checking in, and going through security check, so I arrived at Pudong Airport early on the day of departure. After everything was done and passed the security check, there was still some time before boarding the plane, so I went to visit the Rishang Duty Free Shop. Hahaha, it was not as cheap as the legend said (maybe it was because I was too poor)!

When I arrived at Taipei Airport there were a lot of people when I was going through customs. I looked up the route to the B&B while queuing up. There is an MRT train at the airport, which is very convenient. At noon, I ate Hualien fried noodles and meatball soup at the airport. They are considered local specialties and not very cost-effective, hahaha!

It was my first time to take the MRT in Taipei. I felt that the MRT stations were so empty. It was not as crowded as the people in Shanghai. The speed of the MRT was also slower. It was like a green train that started with the letter K. You could hear the wheels clanging. The sound of the rails hitting the rails made me lie by the window looking at the scenery all the way. I was excited and full of expectations. Hahaha, I finally came to Taiwan!

After resting for a while at the B&B, we went out to play, hahaha!

LOVE

The first stop was directly to Tamsui. Take the MRT Tamsui Line to Tamsui Station, take a bus and then take a few stops to get to Jinri University . Let me mention here that the Tamsui MRT is the first MRT line in Taiwan that was converted from a traditional railway. The station buildings are all made of red bricks. Chinese-style double eaves and Western-style continuous arches are harmoniously integrated. It is the Taipei MRT Northernmost site.

Truth University is a private university founded by the Taiwan Christian Presbyterian Church. It is the first college and university in the history of education in Taiwan. The campus is not very big, with European architectural style and red and white bricks.

Then I went to Jay Chou's alma mater Tamkang Secondary School , but the school is now prohibited from visiting, so I wanted to look for the nearby road where he filmed the MV for "The Secret That Cannot Be Tellable", but I couldn't find it, haha Haha, but this place is really suitable for filming fresh movies and TV series.

Wandering slowly along the small streets next to the school, you can overlook the Tamsui River in the distance.

Along this trail, you can walk to the Tamsui River. It is very pleasant to sit by the Tamsui River and enjoy the breeze and chat!

As night was about to fall, I got on a boat heading to Fisherman's Wharf . The pier was full of fishing boats, singers were playing and singing to their heart's content, and tourists on the Lover's Bridge were having fun. Everything was beautiful. Just right.

After admiring the river view, I reluctantly said goodbye to Tamsui, and then took the bus to Tamsui Old Street near Tamsui MRT Station to look for food.

Tamsui Old Street allowed me to see Taiwan’s real motorcycle culture, hahaha. The roaring motorcycles passing by at high speed made me dare to walk on both sides of the road.

I bought the very popular Grandma Mochi Fresh Milk Mochi on the street. It looks completely different from the Mochi in my impression. Hahaha, the portion is very generous and the taste is great!

We also had the famous snack "Ah Gei" that I wanted to try just by hearing the name. The configuration of one portion of Ah Gei and one portion of fish ball soup was really affordable and delicious!

The second stop was to visit the very popular Shilin Night Market in Taipei . Hahaha, it really lived up to its reputation. There were so many people and the streets were filled with small stalls selling all kinds of snacks, groceries, clothing, etc. They are all available, you can search slowly. I just looked around casually and bought some small hairpins, hahaha. When I left, I originally wanted to buy an authentic Hao chicken steak, but I gave up when I saw too many people lining up.

There was an incident when I returned to my accommodation, that is, the navigation made a mistake and I almost got lost. I walked into a dark alley and was almost scared to death. Later, I got back on track and arrived at the B&B safely, so a The safety of people outside should be the first priority!

DAY2: Maokong Cable Car, see the 101 Building in Xiangshan, visit Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, stay in Taipei

I slept until I woke up naturally in the morning, packed up slowly, and then went out to have breakfast. The contrast between the cold streets in the morning and the lively scene at night is really big. There are no motorcycles coming and going, and there are no flashing neon lights. It's quiet!

I didn’t deliberately search for popular breakfasts, so I casually walked into the Beef Noodles restaurant in the alley near the B&B. It was unexpectedly delicious and the portion was very generous. You could see the large grains of beef. It was indeed the same. The beef noodles here where you can’t see the beef are different and satisfying!

After breakfast, the first stop was to Maokong! Maokong Cable Car There are two types, one is the ordinary cable car without a transparent floor, and the other is the crystal cable car with a transparent floor so you can see the scenery under your feet. Of course, almost everyone goes to the Crystal Cable Car, so you need to queue up for the Crystal Cable Car. Because I am traveling alone, I can fill in the gaps if there are any seats that are not full. Hahaha, this is the advantage of traveling independently!

If you pay with your EasyCard to reach the end point, you can get on and off midway, but almost no one gets off. The cable car line is in a 7-shape shape, with ascending and descending parts. The whole thing is very gentle, and the transparent floor is not as scary as imagined. Hahaha, you can overlook Taipei City. Due to the weather and the fact that I was watching through glass, it felt like it was foggy, which was a pity!

The end point of Maokong Cable Car is Maokong Scenic Spot. In fact, in my opinion, it is not a real scenic spot because there is no gate. It is mainly a tour along the Zhangshu Zhanghu Mountain Trail. You can make your own guide for specific travel routes.

I walked along the road on the mountain, occasionally looking at the route signs. Of course, you can also take the park bus. You can go up and down every scenic spot, and pay a ticket each time you go up and down.

Fortunately, the sun came out later, hahaha. I walked and took pictures. I passed by a large tea garden, saw tourists who were also walking in the mountains, and also saw all kinds of small flowers ~ hahaha. In the end, I took the park bus there. The starting point of the park is the Maokong terminal. Because I wore the wrong shoes, my feet hurt and I couldn’t walk.

There are two ways to leave Maokong, one is to take the cable car back the same way, the other is to take a bus or take a taxi. Since I came up by cable car, I chose to leave by bus. In addition, a reminder, many buses in Taiwan require credit cards to get on and off, so pay attention to it, hahaha!

The second stop was to go to Xiangshan to see the 101 Building. We also passed by a temple on the way. You will encounter a temple by accident in Taiwan! Xiangshan is not very high, but there are steps all the way up, so be careful if you go there especially at night. Xiangshan is not only a good place to see the night view of Taipei, but also a good place for locals to exercise. It feels very similar to Baoshi Mountain in Hangzhou.

When you get to the observation deck on the mountain, you will find that there are many people with long guns and short cannons stationed there. After asking around, some of them are tourists like me, and some are local photography enthusiasts. Everyone is waiting. Watching the night view of Taipei!

As the sun sets and night falls, Taipei’s night is particularly beautiful. Although the weather is not very clear today and the sky is still a little foggy, it does not affect the night view at all. The sunset and the thousands of lights are still worth it. Take a look!

On the way down, I saw many tourists queuing up next to a big rock. Later I found out that everyone was waiting to climb on top of the rock to take photos with the night view. Hahaha, I was too lazy to queue so I just enjoyed it on the viewing platform. Night view!

Today, I walked on the mountain road for a day in my single shoes ( It is important to wear comfortable clothes when traveling! ), and my feet were almost useless. When I got back, I went straight to the mall and bought a pair of shoes. By the way, they are generally You can get a tax refund after a certain amount of shopping (generally the store staff will remind you or post advertisements when shopping), so I mentioned before that you should carry your Taiwan Entry Permit and other documents with you!

In the evening, I ate a huge piece of fried chicken steak and drank delicious milk tea. Hahaha, happy!

2.27–2.28 Go to Jiufen and have a warm dream

DAY3: Taipei to Ruifang (Pingxi Line), Houtong Cat Village, Shifen Station, Jingtong Old Street, Jiufen Old Street, stay in Jiufen

I took the train from Taipei to Ruifang. I booked the ticket with Ctrip before departure (the service fee is slightly higher), as mentioned in the transportation section earlier. When entering the train station, remember to look for the corresponding platform, and then wait at the designated waiting area for the train. If you don’t know how to find the platform and check the train number, just ask !

After arriving at Ruifang Station, you can buy a Pingxi one-day tour pass at the train station (just show it when checking the ticket), or you can swipe your EasyCard up and down at each station, but I think it’s better to buy it The pass is convenient to use (although the price is not cost-effective), and you can go up and down at the intermediate stations as you like.

An important reminder, the trains between each station on the Pingxi Line are every hour, so pay attention to the travel time when traveling! In addition, if you have a lot of luggage, you can store it at the Luggage Storage Office at Ruifang Railway Station. Charges are based on time and luggage size!

There are generally two ways to travel on the Pingxi Line . Either take the train from Ruifang Station to the terminal, and then travel one stop at a time in the return direction. The other is to start from the train station and follow the Pingxi Line to the terminal. Return again. I chose the latter because when I get tired in the end, I can just sit all the way back from the finish line (there may be no seats at the intermediate stations, especially at popular stations), hahaha.

My first stop was Cat Village. After getting off the bus, I could pass by a cat corridor. There were cats on the benches in the corridor!

cat

Cat Village is not very big, but you can see cats on the side of the path, along the walls, on the roof, on tables and chairs, etc. Most of the cats here are not afraid of strangers, but for safety reasons you should try not to tease or pet them. , feeding, etc., just take a look!

The second stop was to Shifen Station , which was much busier than Cat Village. After all, this is the most popular station on the Pingxi Line.

This is where Ke Jingteng and Shen Jiayi put up sky lanterns. Very it is a famous place in Taiwan for making sky lanterns. There are businesses selling sky lanterns on both sides of the train track. You can help take photos and record videos (hahaha, basically Just continuous shooting, after all, time is money). When there is no train, everyone puts up sky lanterns on the train track.

There is also a Jing'an Bridge here, where you can see very beautiful natural scenery! In addition, there is a Shifen Waterfall a little far away from Shifen Station. If you are interested, you can go and see it!

The third stop was to Pingxi Station. This stop was relatively deserted compared to the previous two stops. It was very pleasant to visit the old streets, eat, stroll along the streets, and look at the street scenes.

The last stop is Jingtong, the terminal station of the Pingxi Line. There are some small artistic scenes here, where you can take pictures!

After enjoying the Pingxi Line, I was ready to go straight to Jiufen. Since that day happened to be the 228 holiday in Taiwan, there was a long queue at the bus stop to take the Ruifang to Jiufen bus, so I went directly I shared a car with someone else and it took about 20 minutes to get there!

Jiufen was originally a place with very developed mining industry, with unique old-style buildings, slopes and customs. Jiufen is brightly lit at night, and the houses follow the mountains and are built one after another. The narrow streets and steep stone steps are high and low, winding. When walking, you feel like you are walking on the roof of your home.

The work of Japanese animation master Hayao Miyazaki, "The Streets of the Hidden Girl" is also inspired by Jiufen Old Street.

The streets in Jiufen are all narrow and small, among which Jishan Street is the busiest one. This flavorful old street embodies Taiwan's unique food culture and is the most prosperous business district in Jiufen. When you come here, you feel like you are in an animation. The long and narrow streets are covered with red lanterns, and you can hear sounds from all over the world. It makes people linger and forget to leave. I’ll definitely come back next time!

I checked in Amei Teahouse , but I couldn’t find Grandma Lai’s taro balls, which is a pity, hahaha! It’s really a fulfilling and perfect day!

2.28–3.2 Go to Hualien and listen to the sound of the sea crying

DAY4: Jiufen to Ruifang, Ruifang to Hualien, Ziqiang Night Market, overnight in Hualien

This morning I planned to go see Jiufen’s Gullfoss Waterfall and the Gold Mine Museum before leaving, but I got up too late and it started to rain lightly again, so I didn’t go, hahaha! However, I saw the foggy scenery of Jiufen Mountain City in the early morning! I just stayed for one night and said goodbye to Jiufen in a hurry. I think I will come back again!

In the morning, after finishing breakfast cooked by the owner of the B&B, we rested for a while and then went directly to Ruifang Station. As a reminder, you must buy the train from Ruifang to Hualien in advance, because Hualien is also a popular place. I also booked the tickets before I went there, but at that time I could no longer buy express tickets at a suitable time, so it was already afternoon when I arrived in Hualien that day (fast train takes less than two hours, slow train takes nearly three hours).

When I left Jiufen, it started drizzling. Maybe it wanted to keep me here, hahaha! Ruifang Station is still crowded with tourists, and I am just one of them!

After successfully arriving in Hualien , the youth hostel owner who had contacted in advance was already waiting at the train station. Since we arrived a little late and it was raining again, our plan to visit the peninsula that day was scrapped. After a short rest, we went out to hang out! Suddenly, I felt that I also liked the Hualien street scene on a rainy day!

I was really hungry, so I ate some fried rice on the street and bought some fruit, and then went to Ziqiang Night Market to continue eating, hahaha!

Ziqiang Night Market is really a paradise for eating and drinking. Every snack street in the night market is full of people. It really doesn’t affect everyone’s travel even if it rains (just like the feeling when traveling during holidays in mainland China😂😂).

Food

I chose a few places with short queues to buy some food, hahaha, it tasted pretty good. Internet celebrity food Fried egg and scallion pancakes and Jiang’s creative coffin board were too crowded, so I gave up, hahaha, this time I mainly came to see people (laughing and crying~), I’ll come next time If so, you must be a foodie!

DAY5: One-day trip to Hualien: Seven Stars Altar, Qingshui Cliff, Taroko National Park, Yanzikou, stay in Hualien

The weather in Hualien today is pretty good. I originally planned to rent a motorcycle to travel around the island, but later gave up considering safety issues. In the end, I chose Hualien carpooling one-day tour!

I booked the carpool route the day before departure, then added the driver (that is, the tour guide of the day) on WeChat through the travel agency’s customer service, and agreed on the time and place to pick up the car in the morning. In the morning, we sat and waited for the driver to pick us up. Today, our group took a 7-seater car, which was very spacious, and they were all girls. Hahaha, we could help each other take photos!

The first stop was to a park near Qixingtan. After getting off the bus, I saw a large sea of flowers and a green grassland. It was really super refreshing! You can see Qixingtan as you go forward. After staying here for a while, we were taken to the beach of Qixingtan. At this time, the sun also came out a little, which made me happy.

Finally we arrived at the Qixingtan that we have longed for! Qixingtan The coastline stretches for more than 20 kilometers, most of which are gravel beaches, making Qixingtan the best place to ride waves and pick up rocks in the suburbs of Hualien.

There is a walking trail on the seaside . You can rent a car and roam around, or you can go directly to the seaside. Since the time for each scenic spot during the carpool tour is limited, everyone just chooses to take a look and take pictures at the seaside, hahaha.

The sea water in Qixingtan is really clear , it is light blue. There are groups of tourists playing, chatting and playing in the water on the beach. The beautiful scenery that I imagined before going there appears before my eyes. It is really beautiful. Beautiful!

The second stop was Qingshui Cliff. The car was driving on the Hualien-Suao Highway (Suhua Highway). The scenery along the way was also beautiful. Qingshui Cliff is the most breathtaking and magnificent part of the Suhua Highway. It is a representative landscape and one of the eight wonders of Taiwan. PS: The picture above shows the scenery of Qingshui Cliff on a sunny day!

And what I happened to encounter was Qingshui Cliff on a rainy day, hahaha! Qingshui Cliff The large stone cliffs are mostly white. Qingshui Mountain rises from the seabed to 2,408 meters. The scenery surrounded by mountains and rivers is even more charming. The color and layer of the sea water on the cliff It seems particularly moving.

The third stop is Taroko National Park , Taroko National Park is characterized by canyons and cliffs, with steep cliffs. As far as the eye can see, there are thousands of cliffs, cliffs, canyons, Scenery of winding cave tunnels, marble formations and streams. This stop is considered a check-in, because the park is really big and our time is limited.

Next we went to Tribe Bay. This stop was also considered a check-in tour. We mainly visited the Aboriginal Cultural Center in the tribe. Taiwan's aboriginal ethnic groups are an important part of the Austronesian ethnic group, especially Hualien, which has six ethnic groups, including the Amis, Taroko, Bunun, Seediq, Kavalan, and Sakilaya. , the diverse ethnic cultures are the source of endless vitality for this land.

The last stop was to Yanzikou. YanzikouThe cliffs on both sides of the bank stand high in the sky. Looking up to the sky is like sitting in a well. Clear water is rippling at the corners of the cliffs. The rocks are all painted with marble patterns and there are many caves. Every time spring swallows come here to build their nests, they fly in groups during the day. Quiet Canyon adds life.

The Yanzikou Tunnel is winding and winding. The main tunnel is open to vehicles, and the auxiliary tunnel is for tourists to visit on foot. Walking through it, you can truly feel the magnificence of the cliffs and appreciate the miraculous craftsmanship of nature! As a reminder, before entering Yanzikou, you are required to wear a safety helmet to prevent falling rocks.

Although the one-day trip to Hualien was tiring, it was worth it. Because the trip time was tight, I couldn’t stay longer in Hualien. Haha, I must take my time next time if I have a chance!

3.2 Let’s go, all the way east

DAY6: East Longitudinal Valley Line Yunshanshui, Ruihui Ranch, Tropic of Cancer, Chishang Bento, Brown Avenue, Duoliang Railway Station, Kenting, stay in Kenting

Since I had a good carpooling experience the day before, I did not hesitate to continue carpooling from Hualien to Kenting. Hahaha, after all, the scenery of the Huadong Rift Valley Line is not to be missed! As a reminder, in addition to the Huadong Rift Valley Line, the Hualien to Kenting carpooling route also has the Huadong Coastline. If you like sea views, you can choose one!

The weather in Hualien is super nice today, I’m so happy! We were at the same waiting place as yesterday, but the sky was a different color. This carpool tour was also booked in advance on Fliggy. The driver I met was quite funny. Mayday songs were played along the way . Just listening to the music made me feel good! Looking at the scenery outside the window along the way, it was really a worthwhile trip!

The first stop was to Yunshanshui. Strictly speaking, Yunshanshui is not an attraction. It is actually a natural ecological farm with many villas in it. There is a "dream lake" of about 4 hectares in the farm. The lake is surrounded by palm trees, and the trees and distant mountains complement each other in height. The graceful posture of the tree is reflected in the lake, which is extremely beautiful. With phantom clouds, green mountains and calm water, Dream Lake reflects a freshness and tranquility that makes people reluctant to leave for a long time.

When I was doing a guide before, I saw that there is a B&B here called "Forest with Bears". It is said that if you stay there, a bear (teddy bear) will be given to you, hahaha. I wish I could stay here for one night, immerse myself in the beautiful scenery of this manor, stroll by the lake, on the trails, in the countryside, return to nature, and find a spiritual paradise.

The second stop was Ruihui Ranch. On the way, I heard the driver say that the warm fresh milk here is particularly delicious, and there is also milk pudding, which is made from the fresh milk produced by the ranch.

Hahaha, so as soon as we got there, we went to queue up to buy dairy products . While we were queuing, there were already waiters helping us take orders, so the shopping efficiency was quite high! I bought a cup of hot Ruihui fresh milk, a portion of milkpudding and milk steamed buns, hahaha, I like the sweet milky aroma.

There was a previous guide saying that there were ostriches in the pasture, but I didn't see them. I did see cows. Hahaha, there were children feeding the cows here. Looking around the pasture, it is full of green. It is really suitable to bring children to play.

The third stop is the Tropic of Cancer . The main thing to come here is to check in at the Tropic of Cancer marker tower . The words "Tropic of Cancer" are engraved on the north and south sides of the sign tower. There is a long and narrow slit in the middle of the column, and the Tropic of Cancer passes through here. It is said that at 11:54 noon on the summer solstice every year (around June 22), the sun shines vertically from above. At this moment, you can see the astronomical phenomenon of "instantly disappearing". It is also from this moment that the northern hemisphere enters summer.

The fourth stop is Ikegami Bento. Taiwan’s train culture has been preserved quite well, and Chishang Bento is one of them. The use of wooden boxes to serve meals is a hallmark of Ikegami bento. The wood used to make the lunch boxes is poplar, which has good air permeability and can absorb part of the oil and water in the meals to keep the rice elastic.

The most famous thing about Chishang is its rice . You will see large rice fields here. However, this stop was just a pass for me, hahaha, because I just glanced at the small train where you can eat bento. The driver said that if you want to eat Ikegami bento on the train, you will have to wait in line for a long time. team, so he recommended us to go to another restaurant that sells the same type of bento.

The fifth stop is Brown Boulevard. became popular for filming Brown Coffee commercials, and later attracted attention again when Takeshi Kaneshiro came here to shoot commercials for airlines. When going to Taiwan, you must go to Brown Avenue, have a fun ride, ride in the fields, and feel the free style of Taiwan.

Brown Avenue is a pastoral road in Chishang Township. There is no telephone pole on both sides of the straight road. The road divides the fields on both sides into two halves. It is known as a "green paradise road". The charming thing about Brown Avenue is the vast scenery of rice fields. The ears of rice are swaying in the wind, and the "rice waves" scenery is like ocean waves hitting your face. It can be called a healing beauty and you will fall in love at first sight. I went there at the end of February, and the rice in the rice fields was still in the shape of seedlings. If I go there now, it should be like a "wind-blown rice wave" feeling of lush green patches.

The last stop is Duoliang Railway Station. The most beautiful station on Taiwan’s coastline is Duoliang Station located in Taimali Township, Taitung County. On the way from Taitung to Kenting, you must make a pilgrimage to such a beautiful station. The beauty of "Little Kamakura"!

Here, there seems to be no message to remind me of the passage of time . There are only blue sky, white clouds, mountains, sea and slender railway. It is so harmonious and peaceful. You can be in a daze, escape as much as you want, and hide yourself in the most beautiful station on the East Coast. While staring at the sea view in a daze, you will wait for the train to arrive. When the train coincides with the coastline, you will feel that all the hard work is worth it!

The longitudinal valley line from Hualien to Kenting is really amazing.

Although your stay at each attraction is limited,

But this quick glance is enough to reflect on for a long time.

So, while you are young, go and see more of the great rivers and mountains of your motherland!

3.2-3.3 The weather is sunny today when I am in Kenting

DAY7: Kenting Goose Luanbi Park, Kenting Main Street, Kenting to Kaohsiung, Formosa MRT Station, watching the sunset at Xiziwan, Liuhe Night Market, overnight in Kaohsiung

Since it was already evening when I arrived in Kenting the day before, and I didn’t dare to go out alone, I didn’t go to the lively Kenting Street at night. I woke up the next morning and went to the 711 near the B&B to buy breakfast (711s are everywhere in Taiwan, with a wide variety of food) , looked at the street scene, and then walked to the beach!

The sea in Kenting is probably the bluest sea I have ever seen. The blue water at your feet and the white windmills in the distance are as charming as a tropical island. On the beach in the morning, the sunshine is not very strong, and there are not many tourists. It is very pleasant to walk along the beach.

After the sun became stronger, I took the bus to Eluanbi Park. As soon as I entered the park, I was attracted by the green grass in front of me. It was early March, and it seemed that it was already summer. I really wanted to sit on the ground and bask in the sun.

Walking up the stone steps beside the lawn, you can see the Eluanbi Lighthouse. Eluanbi Lighthouse is the symbol of Eluanbi Park. The tower is all white and cylindrical. Its appearance is built with a fort and a fort as its base. There are gun holes on the wall and trenches around it. The only armed lighthouse in the world.

Eluanbi Park is dotted with coral reefs, limestone terrain and rugged rocks. Although the park is not very big, the trails in the park are crisscrossed like a maze. Scenic spots such as Haohan Stone, Canghai Pavilion, Youyi Village, and Yingbin Pavilion are all fascinating. I really love the sea in Kenting. The beauty here needs to be witnessed with your own eyes!

After visiting the park, I went directly back to the B&B. I had lunch at a restaurant next to the B&B. After eating, I packed my luggage and set off for Kaohsiung.

At first, I planned to take the Kenting Express to Kaohsiung, but then a carpool driver came to inquire and there happened to be an extra available seat. Hahaha, I didn’t have to wait for the bus and went directly to the carpool! I reluctantly say goodbye to Kenting, I will come back!

It took about two hours to reach Kaohsiung. The driver took me directly to the B&B. I really thought carpooling was quite convenient. After arriving at the B&B, I saw this princess bed. I liked it so much, hahaha. After resting for a while, I was ready to go straight to Xiziwan to watch the sunset!

I took the bus from Formosa MRT Station to Xiziwan, so I could take a good look at the most beautiful MRT station. Kaohsiung MRT Formosa Station has been rated as one of the most beautiful MRT stations in the world many times, and has therefore become a landmark of Kaohsiung City. The most famous Dome of Light was made by the Italian artist Narcissus. It is entirely made of stained glass and is colorful and stunning.

Sizi Bay borders Shoushan to the north, Kaohsiung Port and the Cijin Peninsula to the south. It was originally a bay famous for its yellow sandy beaches, blue waters, charming sunset scenery and natural coral reefs. Ships from all over the world in Kaohsiung Port were gradually developed by the Kaohsiung City Government and turned into a complete scenic spot. Xizi Sunset is one of the eight scenic spots in Taiwan .

Fortunately, I was able to enjoy the beautiful sunset in the west before sunset.

This day is quite complete!

After enjoying the beautiful scenery of Xizi Bay, we went to Liuhe Night Market for food. Hahaha, Liuhe Night Market is slightly different from the several large night markets I have been to before. There is only one main street, which mostly focuses on snacks and entertainment games. There are not many other stalls such as clothing stalls and grocery stalls.

Hahaha, there’s so much to eat! But in the end I was so busy shopping that I completely forgot about being hungry. After shopping, I hurriedly bought a glass of papaya milk, which is famous on the street, and picked a few things to eat. Hahaha, it seems that I am really not a foodie!

3.3–3.4 Goodbye, Kaohsiung / Goodbye, Taiwan

DAY8 on: Kaohsiung Pier 2 Art Zone, Kaohsiung to Macau

Today is my last day in Taiwan . After checking out in the morning, I pushed my suitcase and went to buy the famous taro cake for breakfast. The glutinous taro is accompanied by a rich aroma The milky aroma is really delicious.

Because the flight to Macau was in the afternoon, I wanted to go to Kaohsiung Pier 2 Art Zone while I still had some time. When I was worried about having no place to store my luggage, the staff at the MRT station told me There are paid lockers at MRT stations, hahaha, it feels so convenient instantly.

After storing my luggage, I went straight to the Pier 2 Art Zone, hahaha, the navigation guide at that time almost broke me! "Pier 2" refers to the No. 2 connecting pier, located in the third shipping channel of Kaohsiung Port. It was built on June 12, 1973 and was originally a general port warehouse. It is now an art special zone integrating art, design, fashion and creativity, similar to Beijing's 798 Art District or Shanghai's M50 Creative Zone, but after visiting, you will find that it is still different.

In Pier 2, there are many cultural and creative works with the theme of container terminals and fishing settlements, including paintings and sculptures. The success of Pier 2 Art Zone has not only attracted more tourists and creators to stop here, but also attracted some well-known international film special effects companies and animation companies to settle in.

As for this, my trip to Taiwan is truly over. This free trip to Taiwan has fulfilled a long-held wish of mine. Hahaha, the experience of "traveling alone" can give me more courage to face the unknown. challenge! Although the itinerary this time was tight and rushed, we went to most of the places we wanted to go. Next time, let’s take a leisurely stroll, eat, and travel!

When traveling to Taiwan, you should always bring a little emotion with you, so that the journey and the scenery you see will have a different feeling.

I like Taiwan’s small and fresh urban scenery and natural scenery. They are not spectacular, but they make people feel friendly and lovely.

Also because there are a lot of my own memories and feelings in them, those ordinary scenic spots have become extraordinary.

I think, after a few years,

I will still miss the MRT in Taipei,

The streets and alleys of Jiufen are full of sky lanterns,

The highway in Hualien, the sea in Kenting and the dusk in Kaohsiung.

These will become the best memories deep in my mind,

Accompany me through spring, summer, autumn and winter, taste the ups and downs,

Until I go again.

DAY 8 next: Venetian Hotel Macau, Guanye Street, Taipa, overnight in Macau

It takes about an hour to fly from Kaohsiung to Macau. After arriving at the Macau airport, there was a little hiccup. It was only after I cleared customs that I discovered that my hand luggage was left on the shuttle bus (No, this is my result in Taiwan in the picture above), so I was delayed in finding my luggage. After some time, I won’t elaborate on the mood swings during this period. Anyway, you must take care of your luggage when you go out to play!

The next step is to change to Au yuan and then take the bus directly to the accommodation! Hahaha, the landlord recognized me as soon as I got off the bus, otherwise it would have taken me a long time to navigate there by myself. After arriving at the accommodation, we rested for a while and then went straight to the Venetian!

The first time I entered this large-scale entertainment venue (also commonly known as a casino), I felt like I had entered a large shopping mall or a high-end hotel. Hahaha, Venetian The lobby on the first floor looks particularly magnificent and smells good. There are some duty-free shops (all kinds of big brands) on the second floor, the casino and guest rooms on the upper floors, and the famous Grand Canal Shopping Street on the top floor.

I mainly walked around Grand Canal Shopping Street. Here you will find that night is no different from daytime, because the whole street is as bright as daytime, and you can hardly feel the passage of time! Hahaha, if you stay in a hotel, you should basically have nothing to worry about, including eating, singing, watching movies, shopping, sports betting, etc.!

As for the gaming area, there were security guards guarding the entrance and taking pictures was not allowed, so I was timid and walked in for a while and then came out. I also experienced the legendary gambling game. Hahaha, "Buy big or not" "Buying Xiao" can't understand, hey, he slipped away!

After visiting the Venetian, I went to Taipa Guanye Street . When I went out, I saw Galaxy Macau opposite the Venetian. Hahaha, anyway, the casino buildings here are very gorgeous!

Guanye Street is a famous snack street in Macau and it is quite lively at night. I saw a small church with a unique appearance. The buildings here should be in Portuguese architectural style, with a retro elegance.

3.5 Macau, I’ve been there

DAY9: Macau Fortress, Ruins of St. Paul's, Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, Macau Flying to Hongqiao Airport, Return to Dajin Mountain

The next morning I got up, packed my luggage, and went out to play. The first stop was to the Fortress , hahaha, it was really tiring to climb the stairs all the way to the fort, but the view from the top of the fort was particularly wide and you could see the New Lisboa Casino, Macau Tower and Ruins of St. Paul's Oh!

When you take the elevator down from the other end of the fort, you can see Macau Museum, but I didn’t go in. The second stop was to take a closer look at the famous Ruins of St. Paul's. The Ruins of St. Paul's is the remaining front wall of St. Paul's Cathedral after it was burned down. Through the architectural style of the archway, we can find that it is a blend of European Renaissance and Eastern architectural styles, reflecting the blend of Eastern and Western art.

In front of the Ruins of St. Paul's is a food and shopping street (there are many people on the street, so be careful to take care of your belongings, because there are real money grabbers in the street, so be afraid) , you can see Our Lady of the Rosary in the center of the street The hall is free to visit. Our Lady of the Rosary Church Our Lady of Fatima is a god worshiped by the Portuguese. There are many interesting oil paintings and statues in the hall, especially the statue of Jesus Christ, from which we can get a glimpse of the characteristics and style of ancient Spanish religious art. As a reminder, please keep quiet after entering and do not take pictures!

After seeing Our Lady of the Rosary Church, I started shopping again, hahaha, because there happened to be a few SaSas on the street (according to the Macau Pataca exchange rate, it’s cheaper than Hong Kong)! After shopping, I went to taste Portuguese Egg Tart, it was delicious, and then went to Juji Souvenirs to buy some Macau specialties, hahaha, finally I hurriedly passed by the Grand Lisboa and Wynn Casino, which often appear in iMessage spam messages, and the last step was to grab my luggage and go straight to the airport!

The schedule in Macau is indeed very busy, hahaha, but I think it’s good to just see the places you want to see! The important thing is that shopping in Macau is really convenient. All major casinos can provide shopping mall-level shopping experience, and there are many chain drug stores and so on on the streets. Hahaha, Macau is really not that big. If you want to have fun, 3-5 days should be enough!

If you want to ask me, what is the meaning of traveling alone?

I will tell you "It's about finding freedom and finding the long-lost self!"

Many times, in a fixed environment and a fixed circle,

We will slowly be assimilated and then lose ourselves,

In the end, you can’t even control your own happiness or unhappiness.

At this time, you need to walk alone,

Need to rediscover and explore,

To find the lost self,

Findthe self with unlimited possibilities!

While you are young, walk more roads, meet more people, and do more things that will make you smile when you recall them when you are old!
