After the vacation in August, I really didn’t want to travel far during the National Day holiday, but I was reluctant to live up to this holiday. It happened that a colleague also wanted to travel, but didn’t want to go far, so we agreed to take a trip to western Liaoning together. Since we are traveling to our hometown, we don’t need to consider renting a car, we can just drive our own car.

Another advantage of short-distance travel is that the time is flexible. We agreed to set off from home on October 2, choose a meeting point, drop off one car, and the two families would drive one car to set off.

Considering that there will be traffic jams on the highway during the National Day, we chose to take a remote route first. The general direction is to take the direction of Fuxin, then go to Chaoyang, then from Chaoyang to Jinzhou, and then back from Jinzhou. Jinzhou is on the Beijing-Shenyang Expressway, and traffic jams are inevitable. Yes, but there is no way to avoid this place. After all, Jinzhou is the central city in western Liaoning. If you don’t even go here, it really can’t be considered a trip to western Liaoning.

Our meeting point was in Liaozhong, where we found a car parked in front of the business hall of a company in the same industry (because we had to walk for several days before returning) and asked a friend to help look after it. Let's first take a section of the Beijing-Shenyang Expressway, heading north from Panshan County, to the first stop - Beizhen.

As a local, I am very familiar with the geography of Liaoning. At least I can tell which city is where by closing my eyes. However, I really don’t understand the history and culture of each city. I need to go to the place to find it.

Beizhen City, part of Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, is at the eastern foot of Yiwulu Mountain (this mountain is very famous, so I have been there a long time ago and did not include it in my travel plan this time).

Beizhen has a long history. It belonged to the Yan State during the Spring and Autumn Period and went through various dynasties in Chinese history. Of course, a long period of time belonged to the Liao, Jin and Mongolia, and is not included in the records of the Han nationality.

We drove directly to the city center and all we could see was this city gate.

Youzhou? I don’t know which era this place belonged to Youzhou. It shouldn’t be the Youzhou in the Romance of the Sui and Tang Dynasties! Checking the history, this place belonged to Youzhou County in the Han Dynasty.

There is also this archway inside that you can take a look at.

Let’s check what else there is to see in Beizhen. There is a twin tower next to it (Chongxing Temple Twin Towers), which is a national key cultural relic protection unit. It is located in the northeast corner of Beizhen City, Liaoning Province. They are two towers with the same style, beautiful and tall The ancient pagoda of Liao Dynasty. We drove there. The city is not very big and we arrived quickly.

This is a small temple, and it still requires tickets. When buying tickets, first take pictures of the outside and take a close-up of the tower.

Panoramic view, no matter how you take pictures from outside, you can’t get in the two towers.

Enter the temple and take photos of the twin pagodas. The distance is enough to capture both pagodas

The temple is not big and it only takes ten minutes to get out.

If you shoot outside the door, you can only capture one tower. There is a parking lot at the door, which is more convenient.

After leaving here and walking along a road that looked like a village, we got onto the provincial road and suddenly found a place where we could view the Twin Towers from a distance.
