Bonn

This is not my first time to Bonn.

Previous travel notes to Bonn are included in "Travel Notes·Bonn".

Every time I go to Bonn, it’s not just for traveling.

Sometimes I'm passing by, sometimes I'm visiting friends.

Go this time,

Not only to see friends, but also to see Dragon Castle.

Cherry blossoms

Bonn’s cherry blossoms are also somewhat famous in Germany.

There are several streets in Bonn.

The streets are lined with cherry blossom trees.

I like flowers,

Of course I don’t want to miss this opportunity to enjoy the flowers.

But when I arrived,

The cherry blossoms have basically faded.

The cherry blossoms scattered all over the ground were trampled by bicycles and pedestrians.

Hold on to the last trace of splendor.

Koenigswinter

Konigswinter is a small town at the foot of Dragon Castle.

There are many castles along the Rhine. For this reason, there is a special castle tour. You only need to buy a boat ticket and you can sit on the boat and enjoy the castles and scenery along the coast.

Visitors can hop on and off the boat along the castle tour, allowing them to flexibly plan their own itinerary.

I had thought about taking a castle tour, but unfortunately I didn’t have the time.

Thinking of walking the Rhine Trail, even part of it.

But it was shelved for various reasons.

Dragon Castle is on the Castle Road,

The town below has both tourists and locals.

Although there are some souvenir shops and coffee shops,

But there are also second-hand shops and small shops owned by local people.

Full of life.

The town is small;

Follow the signs to find the way to Longbao.

It is a short mountain road from the town to Longbao.

There is a small train specially set up for going up the mountain.

Small train going up the mountain.

Of course for me,

There is absolutely no need to use transportation.

Saw some ponies,

Maybe it's for children to ride on.

Please have love and compassion,

While playing,

Don't do anything that harms animals.

There is a small abandoned courtyard on the way up the mountain.

"BURGHOF" is written on the wall.

Longbao

I have never counted how many castles I have been to.

But Dragon Castle definitely stands out from these castles.

because of it

Not as cold as Swan Castle,

Not as fancy as Pena Palace,

Unlike the wealthy Hertz Castle,

Small enough,

Exquisite enough,

Friendly enough.

There is only one entrance to Longbao.

But there is more than one door.

Remember to find the right entrance!

Some knowledge about Longbao and its surroundings.

Interested friends,

You can enlarge it to see.

The entrance to Dragon Castle is the ticket office, souvenir shop and cafe.

It might have been the gatehouse or stables of Dragon Castle in the past.

Before entering the main building,

You will pass by Longbao’s garden.

The garden is small and exquisite,

very cute.

The statues of two deer are lifelike,

Glittering gold in the sun,

Full of fairy spirit.

Walk around the Dragon Fort,

You can have a panoramic view of the scenery on both sides of the Rhine River.

The garden is also an excellent location to appreciate the beauty of Dragon Castle up close.

Approaching Longbao,

Iron work on windows and fences,

Also eye-catching.

In order to avoid the flow of people,

I first visited the arrow tower (cylindrical building) on the side of Longbao.

Go up the narrow spiral staircase,

Through the glass doors connected to the main building on each floor,

You can overlook the interior of the castle.

Walk out of the small door of the arrow tower,

The top of the Dragon Fort is clearly visible.

The beautiful scenery on both sides of the Rhine River and the Dragon Castle complement each other beautifully.

Enjoy the scenery here,

There is a sense of sudden enlightenment.

Just go down the stairs,

A bit steep.

Walk down the arrow tower,

Enter the main building from the main entrance.

Dragon Castle was originally a private castle,

The design and functional arrangement are based on the owner's needs and preferences.

The original owner of the castle was a merchant.

The study room is for him,

Like television to us now,

More of a decoration.

Although the restaurant is not luxurious,

But it’s also exquisite.

If you look carefully at the murals on the restaurant wall,

You will find a patch mark.

There is a secret door on the wall of the restaurant.

It is specially used for serving dishes to the servants.

This staircase,

The same is reserved for servants.

When the master does not need a servant,

Better not to show up.

at that time,

Hiding the daily whereabouts of the servants,

Just like hiding water and electricity lines now.

The existence of a billiards hall,

Reflecting the popular social activities of that time.

but,

If I remember correctly,

The original owner didn't seem to have lived here for more than a few days.

The stained glass on both sides of the corridor on the first floor,

Bright colors and rich themes.

But Longbao experienced war,

Some of the original stained glass has been destroyed.

Later generations used transparent glass instead.

It becomes like this.

Look at the glass,

There are other decorations to see.

The bedrooms on the second floor are also very different in style.

After looking at the second floor,

We’re basically done shopping.

There is also a small exhibition at the end.

Longbao is very small.

Take a leisurely stroll,

2-3 hours is enough.

The exit of Longbao,

There is a small path .

Come down the mountain road ,

There are traditional German buildings.

Pleasant scenery.

botanical garden

Back to Bonn,

Went to the old place again——

Botanical Garden of the University of Bonn.

Go for a walk along the Rhine River,

Pass a wall covered with violets.

the next day,

Walk along the Rheindorf towards the bus station.

Although it is cloudy,

But there is fresh air and wide views by the river.

I originally planned to walk for an hour.

I didn’t expect to stop and go,

It actually took two hours.

Finally got on the bus on time,

Go to the next stop——

Hannover.

Bonn is a beautiful city.

How many times have I come?

They all stayed at a friend's house in the city center.

Knowledge of the city is also limited to the city center.

someone said,

Because a person falls in love with a city.

To Bonn,

The word "love" cannot be mentioned,

All I can say is "been here".

some places,

I know in my heart that I will never go there again.

some places,

I still want to go in the future.

some places,

Just let it happen.
