Life is not only about the present, but also about poetry and the distance.
——Gao Xiaosong
It has been more than a few months since I started writing travel notes. A few days ago, a friend I had not contacted for a long time suddenly messaged me on WeChat and said: "How do you live your life like poetry now? You have a job, take care of the elderly and children, how do you still have time?" You can travel everywhere. How can you make your travels so unique, unconventional, and full of variety? It makes us want to follow the travel notes. You are so quiet and virginal. " After hearing this, I smiled and said casually, "Come on, come and play around Lake Königs with me." ~~~
Königssee - located at the junction of Austria and Germany. The standard itinerary for most tourists here is to take a boat trip around the lake and end with a visit to the church. Those who are more professional will hike along the lake; if they have enough time, they will Yes, I might go to the Eagle's Nest again. Today, I will share with you my experience of visiting King's Lake.
Lake tour
There are two types of boat tickets, one is to San Bartolome Monastery, which costs 14.8 euros per person; the other is a two-stop ticket "monastery + inner lake". Because we arrived relatively late, there was only a boat to the monastery. .
Friendly reminder: Apart from taking a boat, there is no boardwalk to go back to King Lake, so remember the return time of the last boat. The last boat return time in winter is 3:30 pm.
Beautiful scenery along the way~~~
While the boat is moving, there is a special program on King Lake. When the boat is still halfway to the Monastery of San Bartolome, the captain will stop the boat, open the cabin door facing the mountains, and play the trumpet into the valley. Listening to the crisp sound of the trumpet whirling and wandering in the silent valley (my sister in the same group said that when she was a soldier, she would hear an echo whenever she shouted facing the opposite valley. This trumpet is nothing new, haha, yes, But now...). In the past, the boatman would blast a small salute filled with black gunpowder, which could hear seven echoes. Now, by blowing the trumpet, one or two echoes can be received depending on the weather conditions and the mood of the valley girl. After the tour was over, the captain held a small bamboo basket to collect tips. This is really a very profitable business. With a skill, you really don’t have to worry about food and clothing.
The boat swayed for almost an hour and finally arrived at its destination - the Monastery of San Bartolome, which is the landmark building of Lake Königs. The monastery with the red onions is still fresh every time I see it. The monastery was built in the 12th century and changed to Baroque style in the 16th century. The name of the monastery comes from Saint Bartholomew, one of the twelve disciples of Jesus.
Because it was around 2 pm when we arrived at Lake Königs, and we took the last boat there, the captain only gave us 15 minutes to walk on the shore before returning, so we just walked around the monastery, took pictures, and prayed. Just leave.
Friendly reminder: It is recommended that you take the cruise in the morning and buy two-stage tickets. Because there is a walking plank road on the Neihu side, the beautiful scenery along the plank road will make you dazzled. If you are tired, you can choose to sit on the ground, or you can lie down in the woods and quietly listen to the sound of the exclusive King Lake.
There is also a long-standing German fairy tale in these mountains: According to legend, there once was a king and his family who were quite cruel, making the people live in water and fire all day long. God was finally angered and turned him, his wife, and seven children into a mountain, and asked them to stand by the lake. On the one hand, they could protect the local people, and on the other hand, they could accept the accusations against him by future generations, causing their consciences to suffer forever. German fairy tales are so different~~~
Just before the end of the return journey, you can see the famous Eagle's Nest. This is where Hitler entertained his allies and held meetings with the Gestapo. Now it has been transformed into a mountaintop restaurant and observation deck. To go to the Eagle's Nest, you can only take the Peak Bus, which takes 20 minutes one way. Private cars are not allowed.
night run
After visiting King Lake, we checked into a hotel less than 2km away from the lake. It’s still early, so when faced with such beautiful scenery, my body makes the decision before my mind, and I might as well go for a run~~
The editor’s thoughts on running Zezha:
Use your ears to listen to the sounds of the world,
Measure every beautiful scene with your steps,
Experience the true meaning of life with your heart.
morning ride
Because I was beguiled by the beautiful scenery, my soul was seduced and my person was lost. Take the initiative to get up early in the morning and wait for the sun to appear. I originally decided to go for a walk by the lake and feel in a daze, but the handsome guy on the ground suggested to go cycling. I give him a thumbs up, because this suggestion made my trip to a new level, hahaha!
Going out : The ray of morning glow.
Sigh: Beautiful things are always fleeting.
Go into the mountains~~
Go up the mountain~~
In order to express my respect for the mountain god, I fell down as soon as I climbed the mountain, haha.
Back to eighteen~~
Here I shout, run and jump to my heart's content, enjoying the enthusiasm, passion, infinite vitality and endless curiosity of being eighteen years old. It's great to be young~~
Return trip~~
First, "encounter" a group of mandarin ducks. Seeing them playing and playing inseparable, I really feel like I only envy mandarin ducks but not immortals.
Seeking dreams, realizing dreams~~
Then I encounter a large maple leaf, stop the car, pause, and enter the dreamland.
Feeling the falling leaves under the maple trees and dancing under the cherry blossom trees are the deepest memories in my midnight dreams.
After finishing the trip during the day, order a bottle of red wine at the hotel bar in the evening and chat with friends about life and the years. Everything is really "the years are quiet and peaceful" .
live
Although this hotel is rated as a three-star hotel, this environment and atmosphere immediately made me feel like staying at a five-star hotel...
Straight line distance from King's Lake: 1.5KM
By such a window, should it be like this: a pair of lovers, two books, a bottle of red wine, and some romantic music. I will accompany you until eternity, and you will accompany me until eternity.
OK
Self-driving: 45 minutes by car from Salzburg.
Public transportation: Take bus 840 in Salzburg for 1 hour to the town of Betersgaden, then transfer to bus 841 for 5 minutes to reach the Königssee.
eat
There are several restaurants and bars about 1km away from the town where the hotel is staying. I didn’t go for dinner because I was running, but I heard from my companions that the venison here is very famous, the price is cheap and the portion is large enough that two people can share it. A meal.
cost
Lake tour: 14.8 euros/person
Dinner: 10 euros/person
Bicycle: 50 euros/day (Originally we didn’t rent it by the hour separately, because the handsome guy on the ground spoke very good German. He conquered the beautiful waiter and agreed to charge 30 euros for all the bikes for an hour, but in the end he was exempted from the bill. His character, Character, character, hehehe)
