Love of historical cities,

It makes me full of longing for Datong,

Finally, this trip to Datong was completed successfully.

The distinct cultural characteristics of this city impressed me deeply.

It is majestic, yet calm and peaceful,

Full of profound wisdom.

DAY1: Huayan Temple-Shanhua Temple-Daiwang Mansion-Ancient City Wall

Taking the Dazhang High-speed Railway, I arrived at Datong South Station. Because of the opening of the high-speed rail, this ancient city has become fashionable. I took a taxi out of the station and headed to the booked hotel. When passing by the city wall on the west side of the ancient city, looking eastward at the ancient city of Datong, in the bright sunshine, the city towers and ancient pagodas form silent silhouettes, with a leisurely ancient charm.

After putting away my luggage, I couldn’t wait to start the ancient city tour. In the ancient city of Datong, there are many ancient buildings. The entire ancient city is like a large ancient building museum. First we went to the famous Huayan Temple, where ancient pagodas stand and there are many cultural relics. The murals from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the toothy Bodhisattva known as the "Oriental Venus", and the pure copper underground palace are all worth seeing.

The garden landscape in Shanhua Temple is rich in layers and has a far-reaching artistic conception, making people feel as if they have come to a garden in the south of the Yangtze River. The entire temple is simple and vigorous, revealing its quiet beauty that has washed away the years. After that, we went to Daiwang Mansion. Although this is a newly renovated building, we can still recall the glory and grandeur of the past. The Nine-Dragon Wall in front of Prince Dai's Mansion is truly shocking. The dragons soar with different postures, lifelike.

At night, I decided to go to the ancient city wall to enjoy the breeze. At night, the ancient city walls are lit up with lights, as if people are instantly transported back to the ancient capital thousands of years ago. Listening to the jingling of wind chimes in the Wild Goose Pagoda, touching the ancient brick walls, every step you take makes you sigh at the vastness of history. It must have gone through so many ups and downs before Datong had the peaceful demeanor that it has now.

DAY2: Hengshan—Xuankong Temple—Yungang Grottoes

The next day we set out for Hengshan Mountain, aiming at the "wonder" of the Xuankong Temple in the Northern Wei Dynasty. There are twists and turns along the way, including ravines, cave dwellings, and sheep. There are flowers blooming along the way, and the sun is a bit dazzling. Unable to conceal my inner anticipation, I finally screamed with excitement when I saw the word "spectacular".

The Hanging Temple that I have seen in photos and the one that actually appears before my eyes are completely different feelings. The Hanging Temple hangs on the mountainside like a castle in the air, which is really shocking. I have always been brave, so I decided to go up and experience it. But the moment I stepped onto the steps, I still felt flustered. There is a deep valley on the right. You can only move forward by leaning against the wall. If you look down for a moment, you will have the illusion of falling into the abyss. I was careful all the way, using my hands and feet, but thinking in my heart: How amazing it is that the ancients could build a temple on such a stone wall. However, only by actually climbing up can you truly discover the beauty of the Hanging Temple.

After getting off the Xuankong Temple, we set off to climb Hengshan Mountain. Along the way, there were lush green pine and cypress shrubs, and the air was extremely fresh. The sun shines into the mountain forest, and birds are chirping everywhere. There is a kind of emptiness and beauty of "the mountains are more secluded with the singing of birds". As we trekked all the way, we looked back at the beautiful scenery behind us from time to time. As the altitude increased, our views became completely different. On the top of the mountain, looking at the blue sky and white clouds, my heart is surging.

After taking the cable car down the mountain, the next step is to visit the Yungang Grottoes. I originally thought that the splendor of the Longmen Grottoes had reached its peak, but when I look at the Yungang Grottoes today, I feel even more impressed that there are mountains beyond the mountains and a sky beyond the sky. This group of grottoes carved by the royal family is large in scale and has a higher artistic level. Looking from cave to cave, the sense of surprise in my heart kept rising and falling. The art of these stone carvings is so exquisite and the statues are so magnificent that it is admirable. Especially in the Music Cave, the musicians holding musical instruments have different expressions and postures, and the painted patterns are bright and bright, which is simply unforgettable. A trip to the grottoes made me more in awe of the profoundness and profoundness of ancient Chinese history and culture.

Datong is a treasure city.

There are many rare ancient buildings here.

With rare wonders of the world,

But it is low-key, restrained, peaceful and steady,

It gives people a kind and peaceful warmth.
