Early summer in Munich, the temperature is cool

After nearly 4 months of lockdown,

I finally have a chance to go out and catch my breath

schedule

Starting from the main fire

Hauptbahnhof

Munich Central Station

Because I arrived earlier,

There are not many people at the station.

We entered the castle at about 13:45. In order to avoid ticket cancellation due to being late, we bought a state ticket at Munich Central Station and took the train directly to the small town of Füssen.

(The platform where you take the train)

(State ticket purchased on the same day)

After arriving in Füssen, you still need to take a bus to the foot of Neuschwanstein Castle. But don’t worry, just follow the crowd and take the bus and it’s fine~

The hilly road before the castle

Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenzollern Castle are located on two different "hills" , but the distance between the two castles is not very far. Before climbing to Neuschwanstein Castle, there is a small mountain road that needs to be walked, which takes about 35 minutes~

Denburg can take a horse-drawn carriage

Of course, you can also choose to take a carriage, the cost is 6€/person ! Return trip is 4€. (Although riding a carriage is a different experience, the smell on the carriage is a bit...)

Neuschwanstein

Schloss Neuschwanstein

For boys, Neuschwanstein Castle may just be a historic castle building. But for girls, such a castle is simply dreamy and romantic ~

(Dr. Jay took wedding photos here)

disney castle prototype

Neuschwanstein Castle is not only a symbol of Germany, but also a symbol of the United States. Disney's Cinderella Castle !

(It turns out that fairy tales are not all lies, at least the dream castle in Disney cartoons is real!)

Dedicate the country's efforts

Neuschwanstein Castle is a "dream castle" built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria with all the efforts of the country.

(I even went bankrupt because of building this castle...)

(castle view)

Photography is prohibited inside the castle. (Image of internal details) The decoration inside Neuschwanstein Castle is really "extremely luxurious", with typical Gothic architectural details everywhere, and the medieval retro taste is good Thick~

Best location Marian Bridge

There is a place where you can take a complete picture of Neuschwanstein Castle, and that is Marienbridge. From this bridge, you can clearly see the entire Neuschwanstein Castle ~ Beautiful girls must come here to check in! ! !

marian bridge

Because Marianne Bridge is the best place to take pictures of the castle, so there are usually quite a few people queuing up to take pictures here. (For safety reasons, the bridge is closed during the winter.)

(Marian Bridge)

Hohenzollern Castle

Schloss Hohenschwangau

Hohenzollern Castle is on the other side of Neuschwanstein Castle. It can be said that the two castles face each other. It takes about 30 minutes to go from Neuschwanstein Castle to Hohenzollern Castle.

Hohenzollern Castle

Hohenzollern Castle is also called Hohenschwangau Castle, but its architectural style still looks different from Neuschwanstein Castle. Neuschwanstein Castle gives people the impression of a dreamy castle full of romance, while Hohenschwangau Castle is a dignified and majestic knight's castle~

Similarly, photography is prohibited inside Hohenschwangau Castle, but compared with the interior decoration of Neuschwanstein Castle, I think Hohenschwangau Castle looks more low-key...

(Castle outskirts and gardens)

scenery along the road

After visiting the castle, we did not choose to take the bus down the mountain, but slowly walked down the mountain. Unexpectedly, there were also different scenery along the way~

(little bee in the flowers)

The sky is beautiful, the flowers are full of bees, and the trees on the roadside are full of flowers. Although spring has passed, I actually have the illusion that it is still spring~

(The trees on the mountain roadside are "flowering")

Alpine Lake Alpsee

In summer in Germany, the sunshine hours are very long. It starts to get light around 5 o'clock, and it gets dark around 9-10 o'clock in the evening. So the time to play in summer can be very long~

In Füssen in July, the temperature ranges between 13°C-23°C. Everyone is at the Alpine Lake at the foot of the mountain, basking in the sun, blowing the cool breeze, leisurely, and very comfortable...

Hofbräuhaus Munich Hofbräuhaus

I've had enough fun and I'm hungry. Originally we planned to eat in the town of Füssen. But because the German restaurant closes around 9 o'clock, I finally chose the Hofbrauhaus in the attraction~

(Dining room)

(Price List)

When we go to a German beer hall to eat, we usually order a German roasted pork knuckle and German sausages. Because these two foods are very famous in Germany.

(French fries, white sausage, German roasted pork knuckle, cheese bolognese spaghetti)

I have to mention that German sauerkraut is also delicious! It’s different from what we have in China~ In Germany, sauerkraut is usually eaten with larger portions of meat, because it’s more satisfying!

Of course, in Germany, how can you eat meat without drinking beer! I ordered a Radler. (Radler is a craft wheat beer mixed with lemonade, using the sour and sweet lemon juice to balance the bitterness brought by the hops.)

Zum Wohl!

cheers!

Tips about Germany

The form of tipping in Germany is probably a little different from other countries. Some restaurants will charge 10% of the purchase price, or remember the "top-up principle" .

SupplementQi Yuan

The "top-up principle" means that if you consume 12.2 euros, you can give 13-14 euros. If you consume 12.9 euros, it is best not to only give 13 euros, because it is a bit stingy to top up here. It would be better to pay 13.5 or 14 or 15 euros.
