Today, Dopamine Existentialists came to Beijing’s Prince Gong’s Mansion, Houhai and Nanluoguxiang. It was a really fulfilling day (I almost broke my leg)!

I found this wealthy palace by chance in the morning. Driven by curiosity, I took the subway for ten stops and came across it. On the walk, I came across interesting alleys.
Walking and walking, the majestic gate of Prince Gong’s Mansion came into my sight:
Prince Gong's Mansion, a once-prominent royal palace in history, has gone through the rule of seven emperors of the Qing Dynasty, including Qianlong, Jiaqing, Daoguang, Xianfeng, Tongzhi, Guangxu and Xuantong. It is like a mirror, witnessing the Qing Dynasty from its peak to its decline. The historical process carries extremely rich historical and cultural information. "The Crescent River surrounds the house like a dragon and a giant snake, and the Western Mountain looks like a tiger crouching in the distance." This is the description of Prince Gong's Mansion in history books. As the largest courtyard house in the world, Prince Gong’s Mansion is also the most complete one among the more than 60 Qing Dynasty palaces in Beijing today. It was originally built by He Shen and became "He Di". Later, it changed ownership to Yonglin, Prince of Qing County, and became Prince Qing's Mansion. Until the Xianfeng Period, the emperor gave it to Prince Gong Yixin (Xin), and the name of Prince Gong's Mansion came from this. came and is still used today.
To be honest, the courtyard in front of Prince Gong’s Mansion gave me this feeling:
It’s a very typical northern royal courtyard. It has no special features. It’s just for those who have money and power! (Haha, I am just a lemon)
But after seeing their collection , I was really shocked. It was definitely a worthwhile trip! ! ! As expected, just having money and power is not enough, the most important thing is to have culture!

Its level of sophistication is jaw-dropping. And I have to say that the aesthetics of the Qing Dynasty people was really good! Mint green characters on a red background; gold decorations on a blue background... The use of complementary colors can be summed up in one word: wonderful!
