About half a month into Nick's English class, a transfer student came. He looked Chinese at first glance, and when asked, he was Chinese.
(14) Village chief
The village chief is another young man who goes to Xiaoyu Villa.
The village chief took English classes at eal before, but felt that one class every two days was not enough, so he signed up for a class at RTC.
Abroad, the temperament differences between the Chinese, Koreans, and Japanese are quite obvious. Koreans are flamboyant, Japanese are restrained, and Chinese are moderate. That’s probably what it means.
Of course, the village chief is not the chief of any village. It was the nickname I gave him later, and everyone called him that.
The village chief's family has two stores in Tibet. After one year of college, he found it boring, so he dropped out and came to Nepal to explore the market. It sounds a bit individual, but the village chief has an easy-going personality, is independent, and has the loyalty of a young man.
The village chief lives in a hotel not far from me, and the room is guaranteed for a year. The room is bigger than ours, and his personality is easy-going. Everyone likes to go to his room to brag and have dinner. I joked that you are the head of Tamil Village. Everyone comes to see you, so everyone calls him The village chief.
The village chief has been in Nepal for 2 or 3 years and has been learning English and trying various businesses. After I left Nepal, he opened a courier store and later a jewelry and jade shop. He has been making jade jewelry since returning to China due to the epidemic this year. aspects of business.
When we have nothing to do, we make appointments to go out for a walk from time to time. There is a foreign market in the embassy area for foreigners in Nepal to set up stalls and socialize. Most of them sell handmade food, bread and biscuits, and other foreign dishes. Like, things are very expensive.
The photo below was taken while going to the market there: the figure in the back is the village chief.
(15) Farewell
The twins and Xiao Ming spent 4 days in Pokhara and then returned to Kathmandu for 3 days to prepare to return home. The twins booked round-trip air tickets in advance. Xiao Ming originally wanted to take the land route back to China, but learned from the hotel that it was not safe due to mudslides on the land route.
The twin sister paid for Xiao Ming to book a flight back home. Of course, this kind of temporary flight ticket is very expensive. It's only been a week since they met at Kunming Airport, and no graduating students can build trust so quickly.
After returning from Pokhara, the twin sister's mobile phone was broken and could not be charged. They took it to a mobile phone store in Tamil to have it repaired. They were told that the interface was broken and they needed to replace it, but there was no typec female interface in the whole of Tamil.
In 2017, not long after typec was promoted, it could not be found in the capital of Nepal.
I thought to myself that the TypeC interface was much more reliable than the MicroUSB interface and would not break so easily, so I asked for the phone and asked me to show it to you.
After taking the phone back to the hotel, I discovered that a few copper fingers inside the female interface were detached and short-circuited. It was probably caused by a low-quality USB cable. I used a knife to smooth the detached copper fingers, plugged in the charging cable, and successfully lit up the screen.
When they returned the phone the next day, the three of them exclaimed: Wow, how did you fix it? Even mobile phone repair shops can't fix it. I smiled slightly, hiding my merit and fame.
The day before they left, I invited them to have dinner on the rooftop of the hotel where I was staying. I listened to them talk about what they had seen on the road. I could tell that they were having a lot of fun. It reminded me of the lyrics "Young friends can do anything together." "Happy", if there are students who are still in school reading this, I suggest you go abroad for a few months during winter, summer and graduation vacations. After several years of working and being beaten by the economy, it is difficult to experience that kind of pure happiness again.
The following are two works by photographer Xiao Ming. The first one was taken while we were having dinner. The characters are the hotel cleaning lady and her daughter. I always thought they were grandma and grandson. The photos taken from Moments are a bit blurry.
