Huang Lanju and I are traveling independently.

  1. You need to develop a detailed travel guide, which requires referring to online resources, such as Zhihu or Mafengwo. I mainly use Mafengwo. The picture above is a guide I made myself at that time.

  2. Get your passport in advance. We applied for the visa on Taobao. We only needed to send the passport to Chengdu without showing proof of property. It cost more than 200 yuan and took about a week.

  3. The phone card I bought on Taobao is the Happy Card, which has unlimited traffic and I can’t remember the number of minutes. Anyway, it’s enough and it’s very cheap at more than 20 yuan.

  4. Regarding the exchange of Thai currency, we suffered a loss at that time. According to the comparison of various methods, it should be the most cost-effective to exchange Thai currency at a domestic bank before going to Thailand. But when we got off the plane, we changed it at the exchange at Bangkok Airport. Later we learned that the exchange rate at Bangkok Airport will be much higher than the exchange rate in Bangkok city. This means that we can only exchange 100 RMB for 420 Thai dollars at the airport, but we can exchange it for 480 Thai dollars in downtown Bangkok. . Let’s talk about ATM withdrawals. All domestic bank cards with UnionPay printed on them can be used to withdraw money from Thai ATMs. The exchange rate is relatively low, but no matter how much money you withdraw, a 300 baht handling fee will be charged. To sum up, the ranking of the most cost-effective ways to exchange Thai baht is definitely: domestic bank exchange > Alipay > ATM machine > urban exchange > airport exchange

"Bangkok"

Bangkok has two airports

Here we mainly talk about the transportation methods in Bangkok city.

1. Ferry: The Chao Phraya River flows through Bangkok. Many scenic spots are on both sides of the Chao Phraya River, so taking a boat has become one of the ways to go to the scenic spots. Ferry tickets are not expensive. You need to take a ferry to the famous Grand Palace, but we went there. It was boring and the ticket was very expensive (500 baht). I think it is the least worthwhile attraction.

2. Subway (MRT), we took the airport bus to the city and then transferred to the subway. The Bangkok subway is quite satisfactory, similar to that in China, but very boring.

3. Skytrain (BTS), this is my favorite. Because the light rail runs on elevated roads throughout the entire journey, you can see the scenery of Bangkok. It is also very clean and the air conditioning is fully turned on.

4. Grab, this is a taxi-hailing software, equivalent to our Didi. We have never taken a taxi in Thailand because

Afraid of being ripped off. We have only used this software once. It is not very expensive, but it is not cheap either.

What did we eat in Thailand?

1. Fast food: We bought it for the late night flight because it was very cheap. So when we arrived at Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok, it was five o'clock in the morning local time. Since the bus to the city has not yet left , we couldn’t bear to take a taxi, so we found a McDonald’s at the airport . During the past few days in Thailand, we found that their KFC is much cheaper than McDonald's. The overall price of McDonald's is much higher than KFC . This feels a little different from our domestic feeling.

2.711: A convenience store that is rare in China but common in other Asian countries. In Bangkok or Pattaya, there must be a 7-11 on every street, even in small alleys. There are so many that I doubt whether they make any money. There are quite a lot of products inside, which can meet the basic needs of life, and they are not expensive. It is worth mentioning that the Chinese instant noodles in 711: Master Kong are very expensive. The barreled instant noodles that cost 4 yuan in our country cost about 8-10 yuan at 711 in Thailand. Picture 1 is the milk tea in 711. It is Thai milk tea. It is very sweet and I don’t like it. There are also a lot of convenience foods in 711, which are very cheap and the store staff will heat them for free. Most of them taste good.
3. Thai food: It feels okay to eat Thai hot pot in China, but you should not try Thai food easily when you go to Thailand. Picture 3 is what we ate in a small alley in Bangkok, where only locals would eat. taste very bad.

While in Bangkok, we went to two night markets

1. Ratchada Train Night Market: It is a more down-to-earth night market. There are volcano pork ribs and durian buffet. Fried rice, beef skewers, etc. are all delicious.

2. Riverside Night Market: After planning, the developed night market is well decorated and sells souvenirs and food. The price is much more expensive than Ratchada. I don't really like this night market. But it is said that when we went there that day, Wang Junkai was also there at about the same time. But none of us are his fans, so we didn’t go to see it. If it were Yi Yang Qianxi, we might go.

Chinatown

Of course you need to experience Chinatown when you are abroad. Now I remember that we couldn’t find the way, so we asked a local lady, she was very enthusiastic and took us directly to Chinatown, and then said: have a nice day. I felt very happy at that time ~ Chinatown in Bangkok has a very social atmosphere , you can feel it just looking at the photos. There are mostly gold shops on both sides of the street during the day, and night markets at night. The food here is also more in line with Chinese tastes. I ate several snacks without stepping on Leo's.

siam center

Siam Square

Siam Square should be the center of Bangkok. It is home to many shopping malls in Bangkok, all linked together, one mall after another. You can see a lot of BTS interchanges from the overpass here. I don’t know why I like watching the light rail running on the elevated line so much. I just feel very comfortable. At the same time, there is also the Bangkok Art and Culture Center (p4), which basically displays photography and painting works. Youths can come here, which is very suitable for taking pictures. Those who often watch Thai dramas should also know that this is a very classic filming location!

My brain is hurting from writing now. I didn’t expect that I could write so much about my travels in Thailand. Today’s article is part 1. I will update the rest of Bangkok and Pattaya next time, as well as a summary of the whole of Thailand. I'm going to lie down for a while.
