Historically, Xishuangbanna has a close relationship with northern Thailand. Today, the two cities of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai in northern Thailand once belonged to the Lanna dynasty (Lanna), and then Lanna was annexed by Siam. As a result, Xishuangbanna and Northern Tai have the same language and the same customs and culture.

Day 1

assembly day

The flight from Shanghai to Xishuangbanna, south of Caiyun, took more than 4 hours. Since it was a late flight, we spent the New Year's Eve on the plane without any problems. It was already 1:30 in the morning when we arrived at Xishuangbanna Gasa Airport , and nine good friends who were on the same flight gathered at the Langqiao entrance and took a bus to the hotel where they were staying - Sunac Crowne Plaza Hotel . I dragged my tired body to my room and turned a few corners into a long corridor. When I opened the door, I saw my lovely roommate and his noodles that had just finished eating and there was no soup left. I had to grab some from the refrigerator. Potato chips and beer satisfy my hunger, and I can sleep until dawn.

I finally saw the whole picture of the hotel early in the morning. It is a typical Southeast Asian resort style There are two in the lobby. Live Peacock Forced to stand on the platform for business, pitiful. The atrium garden is full of birdsong and flowers, and there is an outdoor swimming pool in the center. Although winter is the dry season in Xishuangbanna, the temperature difference between day and night is large. The lowest temperature in the morning and evening is only 11 degrees, and it can reach 25 degrees in the afternoon. About 25 degrees , obviously not suitable for outdoor swimming, it was a pity that I couldn’t play in the water with my good friends.

Day 2

Tropical rainforest and bustling night market

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, a group of 20 of us got on the bus that had been waiting outside the lobby and headed to Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Whenever the bus we were traveling with reached a smooth road, I knew that the opportunity to meet all the handsome guys was coming. Listening to everyone telling their own stories, the journey became less distant. The sun is stronger in the afternoon and contains super strong ultraviolet rays. It is very necessary to wear sunscreen . Some team members applied sunscreen in the car, and some cleverly put on skin clothing. None of the above are prepared in advance. Drinking a glass of carrot juice in the morning or eating fruits and vegetables rich in carotene can achieve sun protection effect. Hey, why did you mention the skin care strategy?

Closer to home, Banna is known as the "Kingdom of Animals and Plants" and is famous for its natural tropical rainforest landscapes. We strolled leisurely through the botanical gardens, admiring the exotic tropical plants. There are red, pink, and white bougainvilleas, towering trees that tower into the sky, and frangipani flowers that are playing hide-and-seek with you. But the treasure of the Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is the pond full of "Wanglian", where the first group photo came into being.

On the second day, in addition to the same tropical rainforest scenery, we also visited Wild Elephant Valley to see wild elephants swimming in the river, and released peacocks in the Primitive Forest Park. They were all included in the itinerary. highlights.

The full name of Xishuangbanna is Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture. Jinghong is the capital of the autonomous prefecture. Gaozhuang Xishuangjing is the most popular tourist destination in Jinghong City. It is densely covered with Dai buildings and vendors. The intricate night market lanes made me feel like I was in northern Thailand. Don’t miss the local authentic Dai food.

Grilled fish with lemongrass, grilled chicken, fried banana leaves, grilled pork neck, fish in Dai-style sour soup, steamed baba, pineapple rice, boneless black chicken feet, deep-fried pork skin , Many more . In the breezy evening, look up at the stars and climb the majestic Shwedagon Pagoda , overlooking the colorful night market and feeling the local customs;

Day 3

royal remains

Good times always pass too fast. On the last day of the trip, some friends had to catch an early flight and didn't have time to say goodbye. After breakfast, my roommate and I watched him leave the hotel and go to the airport. The rest of us came to the last stop of the journey-Manting Park.

This was the former Dai King's palace . It was equipped with a magnificent palace and the gardens were cultivated with exotic flowers. We posed in front of the white pagoda and took some unique photos.

Generally speaking, Xishuangbanna is a leisure outdoor route that does not require a grand desire to conquer or a challenging mentality. Whether you are a weak chicken or a strong donkey, it satisfies the most down-to-earth desire - relaxation and closeness to nature . After being tired and worn out in the city for a long time, I walked into the mountains and got a breathless "escape". Unlike the usual hiking routes where people rush by, everyone has more time to appreciate the beautiful scenery around them.

Laughing and laughing all the way, walking side by side with you . There is no distance in the world, all the people are hometown. Goodbye, Xishuangbanna!
