Preface

Unlike most people who open public accounts to record their lives, I rarely record my true self here. In comparison, I prefer to write something that is out of the ordinary, whether it is to construct a story or express a point of view. These self-restraints restrain me from giving way to the high ground of expression to the records of running accounts.

But there is heavy rain outside my window now, which reminds me of the dark sky in the North Sea that is depressed by dark clouds. Those clouds and rain also flow away on the ground, just like the world that I can see far away now. But at least at that moment, my heart was rich and happy - I even wanted to walk into the rain and get wet together with the whole city. But I looked at the umbrella above my head and wondered if it might cause some strange misunderstandings for him, so I gave up.

The night before returning from Guangxi, we chatted until dawn in the B&B in Nanning. At five o'clock, I saw Xiao Hei sitting alone on the balcony, scrolling quickly on the screen of his mobile phone. In the reflected light, he looked calm and indifferent on the surface. I was wondering why he didn't join the relaxed and happy atmosphere inside. Isn't it nice to gossip about him? It was not until later when Xiao Liu posted on Weibo that she felt very embarrassed and started crying as soon as she got on the return plane that I suddenly understood something.

You know, as you grow up in life, you will shed tears when you realize that there are still some anchor points that constantly remind you "Don't be afraid, I am still here".

Then I decided to write this article to commemorate the joy.

High-speed rail to Beihai

Before departure

@小全

This is the fourth year that I have known them, and for some it is the fifth year. If you are a friend who has followed me for a long time, you may remember that in the second tweet I sent, I told the story of going to Sichuan and Chongqing Cloud with them. Perhaps because we became more and more aware of the rationality of this team’s composition, it gradually became a top group for regular chats.

After that, I went to Wuhan, Shanghai, and Changsha one after another. In fact, it was just based on the model of studying in a certain place + visiting other places. Xiao Wei and I went to school in Wuhan, and Xiao Hei went to school in Shanghai, because there were no more abundant places. Time arrangement is often how we plan a vacation where we can travel. So strictly speaking, for netizens who are stuck at home due to special reasons this summer, this is actually their second group trip in so many years.

Temporarily change the itinerary and then arrange the schedule

The original members don’t change – that’s difficult. Very very difficult. Many people think that college students' vacations are at their discretion. This is definitely a lie. We coordinated a week's time among a series of arrangements such as make-up lessons, internships, work tasks, and driving lessons. With everyone's consent, we added two partners to update and increase the happiness. Because of the epidemic, we did not dare to travel too far, and finally locked the Guangxi route between Xiamen and Guangxi.

Until the day before departure, I was still arguing with my dad - he was worried about the recurrence of the epidemic, and I thought there was no problem with Guangxi and Hunan being cleared for multiple days. Xuanxuan is fighting with the teacher for a top position in the defense on the 31st, and Dasha is discussing with the practice group whether it can be postponed. There are many uncertain factors superimposed on each other, so that I will have a strong feeling when collecting my luggage on the night of the 30th. Feeling, whether this time will be ruined.

Fortunately, we still set off on time in the end.

On the way to the high-speed railway, turn your seats around and play uno

Guilin

@ Dasha

Our route is Guilin-Beihai City-Weizhou Island-Nanning. We will stay in Guilin for two nights and then have a full day of play time.

I stayed at the B&B next to the Guilin Cinema. When I arrived, I discovered that it was right next to the East-West Alley. It was easy to have dinner there. A large table of dishes was ordered, and everyone had a drink. Six men competed for the pink wooden horse bubble ball in the princess room, while I played the bumpy ukulele and recommended Xiao Wei's high-end shampoo to everyone.

East and West Alley

It’s rare to wake up in the morning and steal a mirror to put on makeup quickly.

A whole day sounds like a long time, but actually it’s quite awkward to arrange because I live in downtown Guilin. Choose one of three, the photogenic rice terraces, the thrilling rafting, or the slow-paced Li River cruise. After a series of reviews and price inquiries, we chose the Li River tour from a travel agency that was 50 yuan cheaper per person.

Everyone is waiting for the real scene on the back of the 20 yuan

Of course, this cheap 50 yuan allowed us to get up early in the morning and watch the annual drama. Wang Jie's wonderful speech, the jade scam became the topic of the day and the subsequent trip to Lijiang with friends. This is a scene where a domineering president wants to sell jade but says that he is not selling jade, and our eight children are the core of his scene. Without this experience, we would never have imagined that the current scam has evolved to this extent.

For me, from the moment Mr. Wang Jie introduced himself, I didn't believe a word of it. He said that his family’s jewelry company is great, that he is a second-generation rich man and that he has enough money. After years of hard work, he finally understood respect and trust. He recorded a video for the birthday of his family’s seriously ill old man who is bedridden. His dark green Rolls-Royce Phantom license plate is 9999. The ending of the profound composition of fatherly love, the lines of "Okay, Master" and "Yes, Master", and the idea of paying to be friends with me is really a bit of a moral kidnapping. I laughed ten times after listening to this speech. We almost wrote our own script and made a short film that was published on Bilibili.

There is even a full live recording of the bragging

At the beginning of the journey, we boarded a bamboo raft and floated all the way down. Among the mountains and rivers, the key is that there are no densely packed tourists and boats, so it is refreshing and refreshing. "The mountains and rivers make tourists drunk, and the poems are imprinted in their hearts." The water is green, there are cows and horses, and some people are flying kites on the riverside lawn. There are photos of people wearing life jackets in the sunshine and breeze, and there is also a sweet whisper of "Sister, I have hawthorn slices, do you want them?"

The little girl from Hawthorn Pian I met on the road

It rained a little when we were in the Dong village. There was a photo my mother sent to all the parents. I also learned that they were married if they wore silver hairpins on their heads.

Statement: No one got the silver hairpin

Going to a B&B in the evening is a different story. Only a few people in the group participated in Just Dance, but it has become a popular activity that people want to queue up to dance before and after taking a shower. Who would have thought that Yangyang was a SUPER, who would have thought that Xiao Hei could also win the championship by paddling, who would have thought that Xuanxuan could twist so well, Quanquan is still a hip-hop expert, and my dance foundation is still reflected. Three sets of late night snacks and dinner, I finally found a poetry variety show to watch, and even sent a message to Teacher Xia to show off.

Just Dance Opens Tomorrow's Children

It's rare to wake up in the morning. The rice noodles are indeed quite spicy.

Weizhou Island

@ Liumei

For someone who lives in Sanya in the winter and has been to various seaside beaches in Bali, Phuket, Jeju, Madai, Gold Coast, the sea in China always seems to be too crowded, noisy and boring. But it’s strange to say that maybe the seaside is the exclusive happiness of summer, or maybe the right partner is always more important than the place itself. This unexpected day has become the trip closest to the ideal state.

The ferry was still a bit dizzy, the waves were bumpy and made me sleepy. After arriving on the island, we saw the lighthouse, the Blue Bridge, and the vast sea. Maybe no amount of planning before traveling can be as good as the wind that happens to blow at that moment, reminding me of a sentence I read.

Xiaoquan playing in the water at the beach looks like a fool

"I am just a short-sighted fox. From now on, I only see the wheat fields and the reed chickens in the village. I no longer ask about the causes and consequences of life, and stay with the earth with peace of mind."

After the typhoon passed through, Weizhou Island had just the right amount of sunshine and temperature. There were large expanses of banana groves, rugged country roads, low bungalows and farmyards, chickens and ducks running around... disorderly green trees, flowers and trees. Growing wildly. Riding a small electric donkey through the old Catholic church in the old city, we set off towards the seaside with dust flying all the way and laughing heartily. We went to Muya to watch the sunset, and we were always looking forward to the pink sky before the sun went down. But instead of waiting for sunset, we waited for rain.

Small group photo at the beach

Life on the island always starts in the afternoon. The electric donkey seems to be the main and almost the only way to travel on the island. We drove along the ring road to Shiluokou. With the late summer sea breeze blowing, enjoy the waves carrying the fine sand through your toes.

If you go to the island, you must ride an eDonkey with your good friends.

At night, Weizhou can only be lit up in Nanwan. I was forced to listen to the soulful songs in the bar next door and eat a meal of seafood with just the right spicy level. I didn't know the market but wanted to take a look at the lively seafood market.

"The smoke of human beings is the most soothing to mortal hearts."

When I returned to the B&B in the evening, the waves crashed onto the shore, much like the scene when Sousuke chased Ponyo. On a rainy night, the light flickers on and off in the distance, and the sound of wind and waves can be heard in my ears. There are no street lights on the last stretch of path before my home.

Nanbo Bay

In a sense, Weizhou Island satisfies my inner sense of escape. I lost myself in the busy and mechanical daily life. When I couldn't escape from a specific environment, traveling helped me find the answer. I came to a tropical island during the holidays when I couldn't travel because of the epidemic, left all my accumulated energy and emotions here, and then left, and everything returned to normal.

I like this island, its primitive, rough roads and the romantic sky even though it is obscured by clouds, its chaotic, noisy streets and the evening breeze blowing across the ocean. Surprises and regrets are always intertwined, but every time they happen, it is something worth remembering.

Although the beginning of autumn has passed, summer is not over yet.

Nanning, postscript

@小全

When we were on Weizhou Island, they and I pointed to the signboard next to us and said, "Would you like to go to a bonfire party?" What I thought at that time was that maybe the bonfire was so strong that we could tell stories all night long, which would be fun.

Unexpectedly, on the day when we were waiting for departure on our return trip, we chatted all night long even without a bonfire. This seems to be a traditional project that started some time ago - before parting, some sharing is needed, and the exchange of emotional experiences and interesting anecdotes is required. I always feel that this is like a ritual. Firstly, it proves that the other person still has an unshakable friendship, and secondly, he still has a body that is still young and does not have to pay for all-nighters.

Another group photo

Because it was the return day, we originally planned to see some scenic spots - but in the end it turned into a tour route from the living room of the B&B to the bedroom. In fact, I always feel that the most attractive thing is not the many scenic spots on the trip, but the moment when everyone returns to the house where they live together after a busy day. So I often tell everyone, "Actually, it doesn't matter where we go. I even think it would be nice to live together for a week and not go anywhere."

It's true.

I sometimes think that if we were thrown into the deep mountains and forests without Internet access, only these people would be able to allow me to continue to live happily. I saw on Weibo that the way contemporary young people travel is to sleep, shop, and eat in a strange city. I suddenly felt lucky. Even if many people are pursuing such a life, we will still choose to go there. Watch the sunrise and sunset from a distance. This is probably a happy thing to think about.

A happy snapshot

On the last night in Nanning, we chatted a lot of gossip. Things that we didn’t understand before, things that we missed because of our indulging in studying, and things that followed after high school were all wiped out in this night. But at the end, someone suddenly said that it seemed like the only people in high school who interacted with us were people like us, which made my heart skip a beat. When I hear many names in gossip, I feel an incredible strangeness slowly growing. If meeting each other continuously will temporarily dissipate this strangeness - then until it grows into a forest of steel, will there really be any motivation to see each other?

Night chat at five o'clock

There is no answer. Just like when we were rafting on a small raft in Guilin, we received a text message about the Weizhou Island ferry ticket refund. In the gap between typhoon weather and military exercises, we were not sure what would happen every second before going to the island. For the itinerary, we chose the latter between turning around to go to other attractions or heading to Beihai. I think this is probably a microcosm of the many forked roads in the future.

But when I was seventeen, I never watched the sunrise with them, or the grand fireworks at Orange Island. My memories with them begin with the classroom tables and chairs, the minutes and seconds under the piles of books; and then extend to a new length after the bell rings to end the college entrance examination. I understood a long time ago that all choices and all forked paths after the college entrance examination are decided by ourselves. And we have already decided that we will continue to meet each other.

I hope I can make up for the sunrise and sunset I didn’t see on Weizhou Island with them. Maybe in Tianjin, maybe in Qingdao, maybe in Tibet. But no matter where I am, as long as I look at them, I will know that the summer of seventeen is not over yet.
