Xiamen Family Tour

Following the last travel note | Xiamen parent-child travel guide, we continue to talk about the fun and delicious food in Xiamen.

01

Take a look around

Gulangyu Island , it goes without saying that everyone will go there once.

The ones recommended here are Botanical Garden and Huangcuo Beach.

The Botanical Garden, Bell and Drum Cableway, Nanputuo Temple, and Xiamen University are all close together. (It’s really too close, I’m so surprised)

From Xiamen University, you can walk to Yanwu Bridge and admire the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. Then you can walk all the way to the beach. Therefore, it is very easy to travel around Xiamen Island.

PS: Xiamen University is closed to the public during the epidemic. Even during non-epidemic periods, reservations are still required, so everyone should be prepared in advance.

Xiamen Garden and Botanical Garden

Tickets are 30 yuan

The east gate of the Botanical Garden is next to the gate of Shangli Reservoir . There is a large green grassland in Shangli Reservoir. Grass skiing is prohibited, but you can run freely. If you don’t have enough time, go straight to the Botanical Garden .

The Garden Botanical Garden, built on the mountain, is more original than the Chenshan Botanical Garden in Shanghai, with rugged rocks and giant palm trees standing on both sides of the road. We entered from the main entrance and followed the map and headed straight to the "Psammophyta Area". We wanted to see the succulent and taller cacti. Unexpectedly, we climbed a mountain from New Stele Forest and we were sweating profusely. , I only saw cactus on the other side of the mountain. (No wonder it is also called Wanshi Botanical Garden)

Later my friend said they were all sitting at the gate Tour Bus I went up to see the cacti. But I personally enjoy the process of climbing the mountain, so everyone should do it according to their own ability.

We went a little late, so Rainforest World had stopped spraying, so we missed it perfectly.

There is another detail that surprised me in the botanical garden: the toilets in public toilets can automatically replace disposable gaskets (forgive me for my strange focus)

Complaint: The candied haws sold there are so unpalatable.

After leaving the Botanical Garden, you can take the Bell and Drum Cableway at the door. It costs 70 yuan for adults and takes 40 minutes to go back. You can overlook the Wanshi Botanical Garden and the Twin Towers. Real feelings: thrilling, uneasy, restless, how can it be so "exciting".

Gulangyu Island

The ferry to Gulangyu Island must be booked in advance, otherwise you may have to wait for a long time on site.

Purchase tickets: "Cruise Center Xiagu Pier" -> "Sanqiutian Pier". WeChat search: Xiamen Ferry Co., Ltd. Ticket prices are 60 and 35. You can just buy the 35 ticket and feel the roar of the sea and the wind (get in line early and then go directly to the seats on the 2nd floor near Gulangyu Island)

Notice:

1. Don’t choose the ferry terminal, which only allows locals to ride.

2. Adults swipe their ID cards directly without exchanging tickets. Children need to show their ID cards to exchange tickets at the ticket window (we use the household registration book). Each adult can bring 2 children up to 1.2 meters free of charge.

3. Keep your child's ticket and use it once for the return trip. The return journey only takes 5 minutes and can reach 2 piers. Just choose the one closest to your destination.

FERRY SERVICE

After getting off the ferry, remember to walk to the left .

Gulangyu Island is not big and you can definitely visit it in one day, so you basically don’t need to live there. Those with children can buy a map and prepare a stamped book in advance (available on Taobao), so that the child may be interested in shopping.

Combination tickets are available for the five major attractions, or you can buy them individually. We only went to Piano Museum (Shuzhuang Garden) . The beach at the door is nice, and my son was more interested in this.

The Piano Museum is probably the only one in China and worth a visit.

Picture: Shuzhuang Garden. It’s shocking to see this building outside the wall.

Probably there is no shortage of such buildings and landscapes in Shanghai. Gulangyu Island did not bring me much excitement, but my husband and I both like to eat the "Shenjia Rice Roll Rice Noodles" here, hahaha.

Coming down from Yanweishan Ecological Park, you will find a beach with large black rocks. You can overlook the island and pick up shells.

beach

There are many beaches on Huandao Road, the most famous of which is Xiamen University Baicheng.

In fact, there are many beaches: such as Xiamen University Baicheng, Battery Park, Calligraphy Square, Music Square, Huangcuo, One Country, Two Systems Beach ... These beaches are right next to each other, and you can go shopping all the time. Personally, I think Huangcuo Beach is the most fun. It has the longest beach, many shells, and most importantly, many large rocks.

Among them, Battery Park is charged, and others do not require tickets.

Baicheng is more suitable for children. It looks much calmer and is close to Xiamen University attractions. There are probably a lot of people there in the peak season.

Huangcuo Beach is the largest, and I was very excited when I saw young people surfing for the first time. Then there are more rocks here, so I don’t dare to get too close to feel the crashing waves, but the small waves splashing from time to time are still very exciting. Here, I grabbed a lot of shells from the embrace of the waves. I was so happy.

The beach of One Country Two Systems can overlook the Little Golden Gate on the opposite side. The sand here is the finest.

A wave on the beach can easily get your shoes wet, so it is recommended to prepare an extra pair for your child.

I have never been interested in shopping at tourist attractions, so when my friend took me to visit Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street on the first day and introduced delicious shops to me, I was not very interested.

(The night view of Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street is nice.)

But the next day I ate Huang Shengji’s dried meat and dried mango in Gulangyu Island, and then returned to Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street to check out the famous snacks:

1. Huang Zehe peanut soup

The shop doesn't have a big shop, so don't doubt it, it's theirs.

When I walked by it for the first time, I had a lot of doubts in my mind. How could it be such a small shop? The result is it, it’s not too small inside, and you can even try the Buddha jumping over the wall.

I don't like peanuts, but the peanut soup is really good. A bowl costs 5 yuan, and the one with eggs is 7 yuan. I asked for a bowl with eggs. My teammates said: Aren’t you drinking peanut soup? Why add eggs? That's right, why did I drink egg soup, hahaha.

2. Huang Sheng Kee Dried Pork

Pork jerky costs 100 yuan for 8 packs, which is very cost-effective. (My baby likes it very much, but it’s harder than expected)

There are also dried mango, pork cubes and shredded squid to choose from.

3. Hongji Minnan Ginger Duck

My child was attracted by the big drum at the entrance of the store, but the food I tried in the store tasted really good, tender and juicy. Those bought in packages will be vacuumed, 98 each. (No wonder it’s called Ginger Duck, it turns out there’s a lot of ginger in it.)

At Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, I ate another bowl of rice rolls, but my teammate was still obsessed with his favorite squid...

itshim

Since I had enough time, I spent a night thinking about traveling to Xiamen Island, or even traveling outside the city, such as Volcano Island . I chose after many choices and finally went to Shuanglongtan, which was considered a mistake.

The local driver also recommended "Ten Mile Blue Mountain" and "Tan Kah Kee Memorial Hall" . I personally feel that there is no need to go to these places if you come from out of town.

In fact, you can really stay at the beach alone for five hundred years. . .
