On April 8, we took the ferry again. A family of three and the RV "Xiaowo" left Hainan and returned to the long-lost mainland. We once again set foot on the land of Xuwen. Since we were revisiting our old place, we would not go there this time. There was a sea of pineapples, so we decided to go directly to Xuwen Denglou Corner on the advice of our friends in the Woyouji exchange group.

While supplying supplies at the Hai'an Town Farmers' Market, our inverter stopped working because the air conditioner and microwave were turned on at the same time, emitting a strong burnt smell. After inspection, we confirmed that the inverter was damaged again.

Fortunately, because the inverter broke last time and we had a miserable experience of staying in one place for several days, we bought a variable-frequency silent generator during the trip, which can provide emergency power supply and will not leave us without power. .

It was more than 40 kilometers from Hai'an Town to Dengloujiao. We passed through many narrow country roads and finally arrived at our destination. It was almost noon and the temperature soared to more than 30 degrees.

Because of the hot weather, we decided to take a lunch break before playing, but an embarrassing scene happened again. After starting the generator, I discovered that this generator has an American standard interface and cannot be plugged into a three-hole plug. We also don’t have a two-hole power strip, so we can only stare.

Fortunately, there is a small shop here, and after discussing with the boss, we agreed to connect the electricity. When we excitedly drove our "Xiaowo" to the shop, the biggest accident happened during the RV trip - our Xiaowo fell into the sand. land.

What's even more embarrassing is that it was only then that we discovered that Xiaowo's four-wheel drive conversion was damaged at some point, and self-rescue became a luxury. The sand was shoveled away and rocks were placed on it. Brother Chen also took a small shovel to help. After several attempts, I was basically desperate. We couldn't get out of the "little snail" by ourselves.

At this time, the tourists around us saw our predicament and gathered around to help, including those who helped with the conductor and those who helped push the cart. Everyone worked together, and under the guidance of a car with a Shanghai license plate, Xiaowo finally made it. Get out of trouble.

It’s really heart-warming to be in a strange city and watch strangers from all over the world put their kindness and hard work together in order to help us. Thank you, strangers. In the future journey, we will also pass on this warmth to more people.

After we got out of trouble, we connected to the mains electricity in a small store, took a nice nap in the car, and didn't go out to visit the Denglou Corner until the sun was almost setting.

Dengloujiao is surrounded by the sea on three sides, with a horn-shaped beach extending into the sea. This corner faces Lingao Point on Hainan Island. The strait is 12 nautical miles wide and is an important maritime traffic hub.

This is a typical fishing village. The villagers mainly make a living by fishing and breeding fish and shrimp. There are fish and shrimp breeding ponds everywhere, basically all over the Cape.

Dengloujiao is named after the lighthouse built here. The earliest lighthouse was built in 1894. It was built by France to invade the Leizhou Peninsula. It had been demolished when the Four Olds were destroyed.

At present, the tallest building in Dengloujiao is the new lighthouse in Dengloujiao, with the seven characters "Southernmost Point of Mainland China" written on it. Beside the new lighthouse, there is an old lighthouse that was built in the 1980s and is now abandoned.

Dengloujiao was the first stop for the liberation of Hainan. On March 5, 1950, 799 brave soldiers set out from Dengloujiao and crossed the Qiongzhou Strait and landed on Hainan Island.

Xuwen's compatriots made a lot of preparations for the People's Liberation Army to cross the sea, winning the reputation of "Xuwen was responsible for the liberation of Hainan".

The Duqiong Battle Command Post is open to the public free of charge.

A famous scenic spot in Dengloujiao is the Meridian Line. It is said that at low tide, the sea water collides passionately on both sides of the Meridian Line, causing waves to come and go, forming strange waves.

There is a large forest of wild pineapples here. Although they are called wild pineapples, they are actually just similar in appearance to real pineapples and belong to two different species.

This wild pineapple forest has grown for hundreds of years, and together with the surrounding cacti, it forms a winding path from south to north. Legend has it that this place was transformed by a young man and woman who met a misfortune in love and both jumped into the sea and died. Therefore, it is also called the Valley of Lovers.

Xuwen Dengloujiao is also a national coral reef reserve. It is said that there are living coral reefs less than 200 meters away from the coast, but you have to take a fishing boat to see them. We can only see some dead coral branches on the beach, which is very strange. pity.

Xuwen Deng Loujiao is completely free. Although it is underdeveloped and has relatively poor infrastructure, it is definitely worth a visit. If you drive to Xuwen by car, don’t miss it.
