In the past, I tended to go camping in a "wilderness survival" style, and I always went to places far away from human habitation, at high altitudes, and on the cusp of wind and waves. Because generally speaking, the closer you are to the road, the lower the altitude, and the more people there are, the more mediocre the scenery will be.
My articles are all about destinations like Donghouding, Baihua Mountain, and Beiling Mountain. I did see a lot of scenery, but it was also quite hard. After all, most of the time, beautiful scenery and hard work are directly proportional.

Until this weekend, we came to Sandaochuan. It is not high in altitude and close to a county road, but it was an unexpected surprise...

The temperature at night is only about 5℃, but the wind is very light, so the comfort in the sleeping bag is acceptable.

Strategy
Although Sandaochuan does not have the most spectacular sea of clouds and the most brilliant starry sky, because the lawn is wide enough, there are few people, and the woods are dense enough, it is an excellent place for a comprehensive experience.
Talking about that magical county road, X404, it is the sandy dirt road in the aerial photos. Is it different from the imagined county road? Precisely because it is still a dirt road, even though Sandaochuan is close to the county road, there are very few people coming, but it retains a certain degree of accessibility and is very suitable for outdoor use.
As an outdoor enthusiast, I secretly hope that this section of the county road will not be repaired. It's just fine...
Sandaochuan can be directly navigated using Baidu Maps, just follow the X404 County Road and go deep into the dirt road.

Here already has good scenery, even Tesla can reach it with great effort, and there is a stream nearby, so it is already a very high-quality campsite.
But if you continue along the dirt road, you will enter a more high-quality area (tentatively called the core area), where the lawns are more complete and flatter, the woods are denser, and the people are sparser, giving it a more camping feel, which is like ours. Camp like that.
Going deep into Sandaochuan requires a vehicle with good passability, preferably a four-wheel drive SUV or off-road vehicle.
