Jiayuguan: Known as "the most majestic pass in the world". Jiayuguan was built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. The city walls on both sides of the city pass cross the Gobi Desert and are connected to the Black Mountain Cantilever Great Wall to the north and the No. 1 Pier in the World to the south. It is the westernmost pass of the Ming Great Wall and was historically known as the Throat of Hexi.
Jiayuguan is a transportation fortress on the ancient "Silk Road" and one of the three wonders of the Great Wall of China (Shanhaiguan in the east, Zhenbeitai in the middle, and Jiayuguan in the west).
Therefore, Jiayuguan Scenic Area is mainly composed of three parts: the Hanging Great Wall, Jiayuguan City, and the First Pier in the World . Each scenic spot is far apart from each other, and there is no through train, only "wild boar" sports cars.
Sha Qian told us that there is a bus available from Jiayuguan Pass to the Hanging Wall.
So today’s itinerary starts from the Hanging Wall, and then takes the Wild Boar to the No. 1 Dungeon in the World, and then returns to the starting point of Jiayuguan Pass.

Abandoning the 10-yuan sightseeing bus ride, we walked slowly toward the first pier along the remains of the Ming Great Wall.
The row on the right is the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty, which was made of loess mixed with small pebbles, gravel and hay from the Gobi Desert.

The Jiayuguan Pass is the highlight, while the Cantilevered Great Wall and the First Pier are just appetizers.
