Introduction

During the National Day holiday in October this year, it has been exactly one year since the trip to Malaysia last year. In the 12 months, the travel radius was limited to a radius of 20KM. In early September, three fingers of thick dust could not stop the backpack and hiking shoes from making a sound in the dark corner, " Go out and play..."

Q

So the question is, where to go?

I rummaged through the travel notes, guides on the bookshelf, a certain process, a certain review, and 12306 on my mobile phone, and selected three places:

1. Guilin. Speaking of which, I have traveled a long way, but I have never seen the world-famous Guilin. But when I searched for accommodation in Yangshuo, I found that the better ones on West Street cost more than 1K, and I couldn’t buy a return high-speed rail ticket, so I gave up X;

2. Guizhou. The advantage is that the train tickets are easy to buy; but after asking friends, the weather in October is not very good, and the accommodation is also more than 1k, so I can't afford it, so I give up X;

3. Finally, I chose Wudang Mountain, and I was lucky enough to get a return train ticket. The accommodation conditions on the mountain are relatively poor. The price of a slightly better one is more than 500 yuan, and the cheapest and simplest farmhouse is more than 300 yuan. Now it seems that the price/performance ratio is very low, but with the previous comparison, this one is cheap enough to be accepted. It seems that comparison is not necessarily harmful.

So, I started preparing a strategy and bought "Hubei" from Lonely Planet. I'm almost ready. I want to see what time I bought the ticket on the 1st. A very strange thing happened. I can't find the order at all. After rummaging through the 12306 app, no matter whether it was text messages, emails or even Alipay and WeChat payment records, there was no record of buying a ticket. I suddenly felt like I had seen each other in broad daylight. I was obviously entangled between Shiyan Station and Wudangshan Station for a long time, and finally I chose the latter, but where did the order go?

Although there were still tickets to go to Wudang Mountain at that time, after much deliberation, I still didn’t want to go. To be precise, I didn’t dare to go.

So, more than 20 days later, things circled back to the starting point.

One night, after dinner, I curled up on the sofa and read travel notes on my phone. I was worried, and my neighbor replied to my WeChat message from the day. I asked him if he had any travel recommendations, and he replied, "When I don't know where to go, I go to Dali Stay."

Great Dali, there are plenty of high-speed rail tickets available after searching, so let’s go here. I’ve been there n times, but it’s still a place that attracts me with its sunshine, blue sky, blue sea, and leisurely .

Dali, here I come!

Dali——The chaos at the beginning

I can’t even remember the number of times I’ve been to Yunnan. Therefore, there is no need to worry about any strategies at all. I just lazily stuff a few thin jackets into my backpack and don’t have to worry about eating, drinking and having fun. The only thing left in the bag seems to be the camera and charger. It’s great.

I booked a room that night. In order to avoid the crowds, I chose a hotel near the ancient city that had many good reviews. But the moth is here again. The day before departure, I accidentally clicked in and found that the orders placed after October 1st in that store were invalid, the landline phone could not be connected, and the mobile phone did not answer the phone. I quickly contacted a certain process and informed me the next day that the boss had closed ! 😢😢

A certain Cheng was quite responsible. Considering that I almost had to sleep on the street, he recommended a B&B near me and borne the extra accommodation fee. Alas, there are twists and turns.

The story is not over yet. On the day of departure, something went wrong on the 7:35 train. I didn’t go out until 6:30. I rushed all the way to the subway station. I rushed into the ticket gate ten minutes before driving. My crazy breathing was blocked by the mask. Just like my passionate yearning for freedom, I don’t want to face the sea with spring flowers blooming. I just want to get home safely.

P.s. Another story: I got home in the middle of the night after playing for a week, and it was pitch black all over again - the electricity bill ran out. The first time I made such a mistake, it happened in the middle of the night, and I had no way to ask for help. My mobile phone and power bank were all killed in the battle, I couldn't find the property, and I couldn't charge my electricity bill. It took two hours of struggling before the light came back.

Having been so long-winded, let’s get down to business.

But Dali really has nothing to write home about.

Dali——The crowds of people in the ancient city

The high-speed train lasted eight hours, eating, drinking, sleeping and reading novels. I didn’t even dare to get off the train halfway. With many weird preludes, it was not impossible to be left halfway.

We arrived at the ancient city at 3:30 in the afternoon, and it was already 2 hours later that we had packed up and stood under the door again. Only then did I really feel like I was in Dali, the sky was blue, the clouds were so beautiful, the sun was so good, the air was so fresh, and there were so many people! ! !

Tips /TIPS/

If you don't want to take a taxi from the high-speed rail station to the ancient city, we recommend the article "Caiyuntong" to buy a through ticket. It is similar to the airport bus experience and only costs 5 yuan (the return ticket from Xiaguan to the train station is 10 yuan), which is super value! You can also purchase some routes in the province on it. Of course, there will be tour and group introductions on the car. This depends on the individual.

You can also buy tickets on site, there is a very eye-catching through train sign, but the ticket office is a little far from the parking area, which is more convenient.

Of course you can also take the bus, but you have to drive slowly if you need to transfer. You can also use the bus QR code in Alipay for buses in Dali, and they are also discounted, which is awesome!

There’s really nothing to write about the ancient city of Dali. I didn’t want to enter the store, and I didn’t even bother to take out my phone. What I took pictures of was either a human skull or a person’s back and legs. Alas.

I looked through the photos on my phone that day. Between 17:30 and 21:00, I only took a dozen photos, including: a rice noodle shop, a snack bar, a bookstore, and one in front of the toilet. Roasted milk fans are all eaten. (I will write this section about eating last)

It was getting dark. When I walked back from the end of the street, I met everyone on the street taking pictures of the street lights in the sky. They were very round and bright. I met a balloon lantern seller who was very similar to Chunxi Road. I secretly stood behind him and took a few pictures. The ancient city wall under the light was as gorgeous as bubbles and illusive. This feels a bit like looking back at 2020, real and hazy.

It is said that the difference between the effects of SLR and mobile phones is still a bit big.

When I came back and sat on the large terrace on the third floor, I saw the moon/big street lights flying through the clouds, and I thought of a song.

Dali——Meet the Rainbow🌈

Check the weather forecast before departure. It will be sunny in Chengdu during the holidays, while it will rain in Dali from October 2nd to cloudy on the 8th, which perfectly fits my schedule. When I complained to Momo, she comforted me very kindly, "Don't worry, there might be a rainbow after it rains." Will it? I actually don't believe it.

I got up at 7 o'clock the next day and went out for a walk in the ancient city while there were not many people around. It started to rain as soon as I left. Hey, where is my rainbow?

As soon as I finished speaking, a faint color appeared in the front left corner, and it became clearer and clearer. I was so happy, so happy! ! !

A very cute rainbow🌈, one end is connected to the ancient city, and the other end spans the countryside. The last time a rainbow appeared in Chengdu, it shocked most of the city. I wonder why the people of Dali are so determined. The streets are full of people doing whatever they are supposed to do, without even raising their heads. Asked Fenfen, who lives in Dali, she said, because she has seen too much. You are showing off your wealth nakedly!

The rainbow 🌈 slowly disappears, the sun comes out, and the gate of Dali Ancient City shines brightly. It must be like this every morning. Watch the sun rise and the moon set. Whether I am here or not, he is there.

On the way to buy bread, I saw the rainbow at the end of the street again. I saw it twice in the morning and I was very happy. There are more and more people in the ancient city, and the shops have opened, but it is still so boring, so I searched the map and went to the vegetable market. It is almost the most down-to-earth place, fresh, real and warm.

Unfortunately, I don’t know if I went there too late. The vegetable market was quiet, so I bought some fruit and returned in frustration.

The small shop on the street is already preparing lunch

Dali——Se Lamu🥢

I solemnly recommend this restaurant to everyone——

Colorful wood halal restaurant.

No. 98, Boai Road, Dali Ancient Town

It specializes in all kinds of bait, rice noodles, fried rice, rice bowls, soaked rice, etc. I found it in the comments, so I solved it here. Later, when I was returning from Shuanglang to Xiaguan Railway Station via Dali, I squeezed in time to have lunch and pack it, and almost missed the train. The price ranges from more than ten yuan, and the environment is very average. Only the cold rice noodles are super fast, but the chef often can't be found, so he has to shout.

There is also this bakery No.88 Western Pastry Shop

Upper section of Renmin Road in Dali Ancient City

It was baked freshly in the morning, and the boy brought it over on a battery-powered cart, carrying a basket covered with white cloth. It's still warm in your hand, and when you bite it, the crispy outer skin pops off, and the soft interior is filled with the aroma of nature. Two loaves of bread and coffee will keep you alive all morning.

The above text was written from October last year to March this year. I always had no motivation and didn’t want to type. Maybe it was really lackluster.

Finally, I have finished typing. In the next issue, I will post a video of Erhai Lake. It was a warm spring afternoon facing the sea...
