Xiaoqikong Scenic Area is located in the south of Libo County. It is an 18-kilometer-long canyon. It is named after the seven-hole bridge in the scenic area.
There are two opposite routes to visit Xiaoqikong. You can enter from the east gate and start the tour from the Xiaoqikong Ancient Bridge. You can also enter from the west gate and start the tour from Wolong Pond.
We entered from the west gate and went to Wolongtan first. Wolongtan Waterfall is also a classic landscape in Xiaoqikong Scenic Area. When we were still far away, we heard the waterfall coming from the direction of Wolongtan. A rumbling sound as it hits the water. Because it happened to be the rainy season, the water flow was very large. Although the water flow was very large and the impact was very strong, when the waterfall fell below, the lake below was very calm. This should be considered. It's a wonder.
The water here is clear and emerald green, a different kind of green, as if matcha was put into the milk and then diluted with water. The entire water surface is like a priceless piece of jasper, very blue, azure blue. .
This place is a bit like Jiuzhaigou, like a fairyland on earth. Just one look at the green of the lake is refreshing.
Cuigu Waterfall flows down from halfway up the mountain. You can't see where the source is. This is the largest drop among the many waterfalls in the scenic area. The waterfall is more than 60 meters high. It looks like a jade belt falling to the earth, or like a group of dragons descending the mountain.
Several streams of white water pouring down from the mountain shuttle between the green trees, which is extremely lively. "Green Valley" is named after the mountains here are tightly packed and verdant. It is also the filming location of "Adventures with Bell".
As I walked, I saw a column of water spurting out from above my head. It turned out to be a "broken dragon spitting out pearls", which was very interesting to people coming and going.
Continuing forward, you will find the 68-level waterfall, the only one in the country with such a dense waterfall.
The waterfall flows in the valley and is 1.6 kilometers long. The high and low levels are stacked in the shape of terraces, pouring down with extraordinary momentum.
It is said that the formation of this 68-level waterfall can be traced back to about two million years ago. Due to geological changes, the river bed formed multi-level cracks, thus forming the narrow and layered waterfall group seen today.
Walking along the trail, we soon saw Raya Falls, which looked like a woman’s hair.
"Laya" means "beautiful goddess" in Buyi language. The goddess is quite approachable. Unlike waterfalls that can only be viewed from a distance in other places, it is right on the roadside. The water flowed downwards against the sloping mountain, as if it were dressing the mountain in light and elegant white clothes.
Finally, we came to the Xiaoqikong Bridge. The Xiaoqikong Bridge was built in the 15th year of Daoguang's reign. It is made of granite strips. There are seven holes under the bridge. The shape is not fancy and it stands quietly on the Hanbitan Lake.
There is nothing special about this ancient bridge, but the beauty lies in its artistic conception. The bridge is covered with vines and ferns, surrounded by ancient trees, and reflected in the water. I don’t know whether the water embellishes the bridge or the bridge sublimates the water. It is so beautiful. Suffocating, intoxicatingly quiet.
The reflections of the seven bridge holes form a circle. The ancients did not see today's scenery, but today's people still walk on the ancient bridge. Everything is still, only the human figures are moving, and many young men and women surround the bridge to enjoy the scenery.
Because I was in a hurry, I couldn't go to several scenic spots. I went directly back to the west gate of the scenic spot from Xiaoqikong. I took the winding mountain road outside the scenic spot and didn't pick up or drop off passengers on the way. I arrived at the west gate at exactly 17:30. It was a bit of a rush to spend an afternoon, and the scenic area was bustling with people and a bit crowded, but the various natural scenery was so beautiful that it made people feel like they were in another world.
