Every year at the end of the year, it feels a bit heavy and confusing, and there is an urgent need to restart and update. It was very important to me to hit the pause button between two years.
Tourist activities are usually in Siming District in the south of the island . The southwest corner of the island, including the ferry terminal you must take to Gulangyu Island, is relatively close to the old town on Zhongshan Road, so you can arrange a visit together.
We prefer the southern section of Huandao Road. From east to west, Xiamen University, Nanputuo Temple, Xiamen Botanical Garden, and Zengcuo'an are all in this area. We all went there last year, and there won’t be too many tourists during the Spring Festival, so this year we plan to focus on leisure. The only thing I want to see is the fireworks on both sides of the Taiwan Strait held at Huangcuo Beach on the first day of the Lunar New Year.
yellow Beach Located in the roundabout East side of South Road , relatively quiet. In order to watch the fireworks conveniently, we chose a seaside resort hotel close to Huangcuo Beach. When you come out of the hotel entrance, you will face the South Ring Road. Cross the main road and you will reach the Coconut Wind Island Beach. If you go left, you can go to the One Country, Two Systems Beach. If you go right, you can go to Huangcuo Beach. Both are within a short walk.
It's getting late today, so I quickly settled in the hotel and couldn't wait to go to the beach. The sky, clouds, warm wind, and ocean tide are all gentle and relaxing.
I put on the mask I got from home, walked one kilometer, went to Huangcuo Village for dinner, and bought a dozen more masks to prepare. I gave up the idea of going to Gulangyu Island, and also canceled the second half of my trip to Fuzhou, and rested peacefully on Huandao South Road.
The next morning, I went to Huangcuo Village to have breakfast and take a look at the branch road of Huandao South Road.
Squirrels frequently appear in the woods on the roadside
The city flower of Xiamen~~Bougainvillea, the gorgeous purple-red color is the most classic
This kind of jade-colored bougainvillea is rare and looks much more delicate.
The Lingxiao flowers blooming during the Spring Festival look particularly festive.
Zhu Yinghua is also called Red Albizia Julibrissin. Its appearance is similar to Albizia Julibrissin, but it is a shrub, not a tall tree like Albizia Julibrissin.
Come to the beach. It’s New Year’s Eve, and some tourists have come, but compared to last year, is much rarer.
Passing by Huangcuo Beach, the fireworks have been prepared and it seems that they will not be cancelled.
Continuing westward along the beach, we are going to visit the head of Huangcuo River. I miss it a bit.
We arrived at the head of Huangcuo River. I stayed in this cultural and creative village last year. Compared with the more famous Zengcuo'an in the west, it is much quieter.
Huandao South Road at the entrance of the village
In the alley, I walked to a place I hadn't walked last time and found a very unique store.
indian style decoration
A place for candlelight meditation at night
In the alley, go round and round. Finally we came to a familiar residence, the one with skylights hanging on the exterior and blue windows. The small shop downstairs was our designated canteen last year haha
Waiting for dinner
Pineapple rice is great
Scallops, oysters, clams, leeches, these small seafood can be eaten every day without any burden on the stomach.
Peanut soup is my favorite, at least one bowl every day. You can drink it as soup every day
I didn’t eat much satay noodles this time. This is my favorite noodle batter in the morning
This time we mainly ate in Huangcuo Village. This is the canteen we found.
Huangcuo Village is not small, and there are many kinds of food options. It is also very convenient to buy daily necessities and specialties. The key is to watch the fireworks right across the beach. We walked around the nearby Huandao South Road and the beach, waiting for the arrival of the evening on the first day of the new year.
