Escaped from a quiet home where the only sound was the broken air conditioner.

After driving for more than half an hour, we arrived at Umm Al Quwain, the second smallest emirate in the United Arab Emirates.

I didn’t expect this cafe to be so popular. Someone stopped me on the roadside and I could only come in and park when there was space. The two cars in front stopped for a while and couldn't wait to leave. I stood awkwardly in the middle of the road for a while before pulling over. Fortunately, the staff checked the intercom and moved the roadblock for me and another car from Dubai.

As I parked my car and walked towards the entrance, I scanned the road and found that more than 90% of the cars were from Dubai. As soon as they came in, the bustling people were wearing swimsuits that were cooler than the others, with their faces completely uncovered. It was as if the new cases the day before yesterday and the day before yesterday (the day before yesterday set a new record for the most in history) belonged to another world. Before going out, I hesitated whether I could wear denim shorts because the skirt I wore when I went to Sharjah last time was relatively short. I didn’t realize until I entered Sharjah that I was afraid of being caught and fined by the legendary cultural police patrolling the streets. Fortunately, I was wearing shorts, so I didn't look so out of place in this coffee forest and meat pond.

Since there were so many people outside, I sat down far away from others in a corner of the room. When I first walked in, the lady behind the desk at the entrance saw me but didn't say anything. I saw a form similar to visitor registration and a temperature measuring gun placed on the table. I thought there were some procedures to go through, so I slowly swayed by the table and stayed for a while. She still said nothing. So I started to look around. The house was very unique. It was made of wood from the inside to the outside. The tables, chairs and sofas were all without exception, and it was full of natural and rustic atmosphere. The roof is paved with fine palm strips, similar to the texture of a thatched roof, but stronger and more beautiful. While queuing to order, a customer came in and a male employee tested his temperature. Then I heard his female colleague standing behind the education desk: Do you know how much trouble we got for this?

Kite Cafe

I'm sitting here, surrounded by quite a lot of noise, music, walkie-talkies, the sound of glasses clinking, and various human voices. I sat quietly, thinking about the difference between sitting here and sitting at home. After thinking for a long time, I felt that although I had nothing to do with others here, I had exposed myself to the world, at least on the surface. So what is the difference between a person here and in Shanghai? This makes a big difference, at least on the surface.
First of all, I was typing on the computer without worrying about what anyone passing by could see - even if I put it in front of his eyes, he wouldn't be able to understand it. Secondly, the external environment will greatly affect a person's state. Shanghai has row after row of high-rise buildings, mature streets with shops embedded in the corners, large and small highways bustling with traffic... The drive here is basically high-speed, and the traffic on weekends truly matches the rhythm of the seaside resort city. There are mostly sand dunes on the side of the highway. The main road approaching the seaside and the unconventional buildings on the side of the road make people feel like they are on a small road in the county town. I lay here listening to the waves blowing in the wind, watching the children and dogs chasing each other and playing... At this moment, I am very comfortable. In fact, I don’t know if it’s possible to achieve this level of relaxation in Shanghai. I'm afraid it's difficult, and it may take many years before I dare to let myself be so relaxed.

But am I really that relaxed now? I'd rather choose this lifestyle, but I'm not qualified yet. It seems leisurely, but in fact it is just twenty meters under the sea without wind and waves. Those undercurrents deeper down never stop. If you take such a break when you should be working hard, you will have to repay it sooner or later.

The sea level in the distance is higher than the horizon

Once the summer heat comes from the summer season,
It's too late for the cool autumn breeze.
