It is suitable for self-driving and group tours from Chengdu to Hongyanding, but if you drive by yourself, Do not directly search for Hongyan Ding on the navigation map, because you may mistakenly navigate to the Hongyan Ding in Aba Prefecture. Hongyan Ding is in Garze Prefecture. When you get there, you need to find a local guide to live in a shack on the top of the mountain.

If you hire a guide, you have to take a shuttle bus to the starting point of the hike; but you can also drive to the starting point of the hike. There is a parking lot there, but there is a fee ( It seems to be 50 a day) , it started out as a forest of coniferous pine trees.
After walking for about half an hour, the trees on both sides gradually decreased, and the Gongga Mountains behind gradually emerged. After walking out of the woods, we were probably halfway through the entire journey. There was a small fork in the road, but just keep walking up. Yes.
It takes about three or four hours from the starting point to the top of the mountain. The road is basically climbing, but there are horse gangs. If you don’t want to leave, you can ride up on horseback for a fee.
You don’t need to wear a lot when going up the mountain. When you feel hot, take off your clothes in time to avoid catching a cold. Along the way, you can look back and see the Gongga Snow Mountain on the opposite side standing majestically in the distance. It is solemn and sacred. Gongga means Gongga in Tibetan. It means Bai Xue.
The residence at the top of the mountain is a shed with beds and quilts inside. There are several inns. We have always stayed in Brother Peng’s inn. After reaching the top of the mountain, take a break to relieve your sweat and then go out to play.
At sunset, you can see the afterglow of the setting sun falling on the other side of Gongga Mountain, which makes people feel full of hope. There is the light we are looking for on the other side of the mountain.
It was extremely cold in the early morning at Hongyanding. The battery of the mobile phone went from 71% to 0%, and then shut down.
