Introduction to the Black Elk Ancient Temple: Black Elk Temple, also known as Dongyang Temple, is located on the west slope of the Black Elk Peak. It was built from the 1st year of Taiji by Emperor Ruizong of the Tang Dynasty to the 15th year of Tianbao by Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty (712-755 AD). Nearly 1300 years ago, it is said that Lu Dongbin, one of the Eight Immortals, once went to the mountain to practice Taoism. Therefore, Taoists called the mountain "Dongyang Mountain". It was listed as the 24th of the "Thirty-six Cave Heavenly Blessed Lands" and was revered as one of the four holy places of Buddhism in Changsha area. head. The temple has a construction area of ​​about 400 square meters. It has a temple-style courtyard architectural style and is divided into front, middle and back halls, as well as east and west wings. The front and middle halls were damaged during the Cultural Revolution and were rebuilt in the 1990s with masonry structures; the back hall is a Qing Dynasty stone and wood structure supported by stone beams and pillars; it is dedicated to Liu Xiangu and Zhou Zhenren.
