From the prince to the seventh-rank county magistrate, everyone who comes to this temple must first report to the abbot. They greeted him in the reception hall; when he left, the abbot also saw him off in the reception hall and never went down the steps. Usually when people walk to the hall, they will take a nap here, dust themselves off, tidy up their clothes, and then calm down and come to the Mahavira Hall to worship.
