Guanghua Temple is a famous Buddhist Shifang Jungle in Beijing and the seat of the Beijing Buddhist Association. Guanghua Temple is located in Ya'er Hutong, Houhai District, Xicheng District, adjacent to Yinding Bridge to the east and Soong Ching Ling's former residence to the west. The whole temple covers an area of more than 20 acres and is divided into three courtyards: the middle courtyard, the east courtyard and the west courtyard. Guanghua Temple in Beijing is divided into three courtyards: the middle courtyard, the east courtyard and the west courtyard. The middle courtyard is the main building of the temple. In the middle are the main halls such as Shanmen Hall, Tianwang Hall, Mahavira Hall, Amitabha Hall, Sutra Pavilion and Prajna Hall. On every first and fifteenth day of the lunar calendar, there are ritual activities at Guanghua Temple. Every Saturday the Beijing Buddhist Music Troupe performs at Guanghua Temple. Every year during the Laba Festival of the lunar calendar, Guanghua Temple cooks porridge and distributes it to the public for free. This tradition has continued since the temple was built.
