Ewha Womans University in South Korea is one of the best universities in South Korea and the largest women's university in the world. Originally called Ewha Academy, it was named by Emperor Gojong and Empress Myeongseong of Korea in memory of the wife of Scranton, a Methodist doctor who first pioneered women's education in Korea. In 1948, it was renamed Ewha Womans University. Ewha Womans University is famous for having produced several first ladies of South Korea. Ewha University’s law, public administration and other disciplines have always been among the best in the international rankings. The beautiful and quiet campus and the school motto of "Truth, Kindness and Beauty" make this university as beautiful as its name.
