The Ancestral Baicaotang is the place where Shennong "first tasted a hundred herbs and began to have medicine". It is located in the Laodingshan (formerly known as Baigushan) National Forest Park Scenic Area in the east of Changzhi City, Shanxi Province, five kilometers away from the center of Changzhi.
